v removed from a registered position of responsibility, usually the General Medical Council: Well, we were pretty sure sheÂ’d get struck off after the whole thing with the electric toothbrush and that poor man in the wheelchair. The term gave its name to the BBC radio medical comedy, Struck Off and Die.
Acronym for North End Gipsy. Used to describe the children who lived in the council estate on the north end of town . They stank and often wore the same parka coat for their entire school life. There was one notorious family of Negs whos name was luckily 'Negus' which starts with Neg. Other children could identify the chair used by Negs (when entering a class-room the Neg had vacated) because it stank of poor people. These chairs were either isolated or sat upon by an unfortunate child who would be sniggered at through out the lesson and only later told it was because they had the NEG Chair. Many towns have a North End Gip estate because it is predominantly down wind. (ed: please remember ODPS does not necessarily agree with the sentiments presented in certain definitions. This entry demonstrates how cruel kids can be!)

To "dog it" was to abscond from school for the day - or however long took your fancy. A day would often begin with friends asking each other if they were "dogging" it today. Sometimes people larger than you forced you to dog it with them (just in case anyone thought they were unpopular...) Whilst doing so, you were often chased by a man from the local council education dept. (the "dogger man") who happened to have some advantage over you as you were on foot, and he was in his "dogger van".

A Scutter, or 'Scutter From The Gutter' to give it it's full title, was a title bestowed upon any person who was a little bit smelly, a little bit dirty, and generally wore clothes too small for them and lived in the council flats with their crack whore mom and wife beating dad. If you wore trousers that ended 4 inches above your socks, you were a scutter. If you'd worn the same 80's tracksuit top that was 4 sizes too small for you (ironically, back in fashion now!) for the last 12 years, you were a scutter. If you had a grade 1 all over haircut to prevent catching fleas off your rabid mongrel, you were a scutter. And you were from the gutter - Probably!
Shitter (rectum). When I sat down there was a pin on my chair! Right up the council gritter! He reports that a council gritter is the machine that comes around and puts grit on icy roads

n public housing, projects. Housing built by the government and meted out to the needy, so they can reproduce and smoke pot in it. In the U.K. such projects were largely the brainchild of a Labour government, but when the Conservatives took power in 1979 they had the fantastic idea of allowing the tenants (generally working-class Labour voters) the option of buying their council houses at a discount to market value, which proved wonderfully popular. It also made it rather tricky for Labour to reverse the plan when they attained power in 1997, as it had made a great many of their upstanding supporters substantially richer.
