Location of the Buyer position: York
A Leading Manufacturing business requires a Buyer to join the team. They work in a clean, modern office space, with a stable, supportive and loyal workforce. A large organisation, however, have a friendly, family-supportive culture whereby people are treated as individuals, not numbers.
The ideal candidate for the Buyer role would be a minimum of GSCE qualified, who has previous experience in purchasing/stock control or relevant qualifications to support their application. Strong work ethic, self-motivated and strong competency with numeracy/literacy skills.
Duties of the Buyer role:
Scheduling and maintaining order requirements for stock
Managing programs and systems within the company
Maintaining stock items on the system
Sourcing of new suppliers and servicing existing supplier relations
Negotiating pricing with suppliers
Invoices and purchase orders
Maintain up to date records
Liaising over the phone and email with suppliers with any queries or issues
