We are seeking an experienced engineering procurement professional to join our team and help drive change within our procurement department.     Role Overview:

    As a Buyer, you will be responsible for strategically sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services, with a particular focus on complex projects and critical components. You will manage supplier relationships, ensure timely deliveries, and optimize costs, playing a key role in the efficiency of the procurement function within the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Raise Purchase Orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure goods are received on time and within budget.

    * Support internal stakeholders, including Design Engineers, Project Managers, and the Supply Chain team, providing high-quality and efficient procurement services.

    * Source and evaluate potential new suppliers, obtaining information prior to onboarding them to the approved supplier list.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and addressing any performance issues.

    * Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation, price negotiations, and value engineering.

    * Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing carrying costs.

    * Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast demand and develop procurement plans aligned with business needs.

    * Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and inform future procurement strategies.

    * Lead and mentor junior buyers, offering guidance and assigning tasks as needed.

    * Assist in reviewing and improving procurement processes, helping to future-proof the function as the business grows.

    * Implement systems and practices that drive greater efficiency and effectiveness within the procurement function.

    Key Requirements:

    * Proven experience in a procurement role, with strong negotiation and influencing skills.

    * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    * Strong understanding of market dynamics and the supplier landscape.

    * Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

    * Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.

    * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Desirable Experience:
