MDMA
A type of basecoat, usually used under hard to remove glitter polishes that peels off the nail without damaging the nail bed. These are either store bought (OPI and essence make one) or made at home. See below for a picture tutorial.
Similar in definition to Chatham Chav, Kappa Slappa, Essex Girl, Shazza etc. They are girls who wear reebok trainers, kappa-sportswear, white puffa jackets, clowns (a really foul type of jewellery which involves a gold, jewelled, preferably moveable, clown (yes, a clown), the bigger the better hanging off a gold chain), lots of reeeeeally tacky 'Ratners' style gold jewellery and hair which can be any of the following hairstyles - plastered to head with a small thin section curled and styled with half a tub of gel and forced to hang next to face; the pineapple (hair in pony tail right on top of head) or extravagant bun (very long hair twisted into an overexaggerated bun) - all of these hairstyles MUST use a gold scrunchie and as much gel as is humanly possible. These girls normally get pregnant by the age of 12 and have boyfriends called Gazza and Kevin. I know you've seen them walking down the street - sadly, everyone has had the misfortune at some time of their life. (ed: now that's what I call a definition!) Talking of definitions, we received this... and I forgot to note who sent it (sorry): I was surprised this one wasn't in the dictionary already. (ed: which it was of course... but never mind the technicalities). I first came accross the word in the early nineties when I was 10-15 years old. We used it to mean exactly the definition you have listed for 'scally'. At some point, perhaps around 1995, 1996 using the word 'townie' went out of fashion and people gradually began to use 'scally' all the time. Today, in the area I come from (Manchester, but esp. South Manchester) you wouldn never hear 'townie' used in this sense, always 'scally'. I have a friend at university who still uses it as we would've done in Manchester in the early nineties. She's from North Yorkshire and says it's still used a lot there. Further still, another university friend, from London, says that to him it means something different from 'scally' and always has done. I'm not quite certain of his definition but he may say, for example, "I don't like going out in Leeds on a Saturday night because it's full of townies" - meaning more like the general 'locals' of any social class, age, dress-style., Sorry for the lengthy explanation! What fascinates me most about this word is the way it was used consistently by people in the area I lived in when I was a younger teenager and then suddenly, within about a year, everyone was using 'scally' instead and 'townie' had become an almost uncool thing to say. I remember thinking to myself - I must start trying to say 'scally' instead of 'townie' so that I sound cool. It's been suggested I pass you on to this url for a fuller description of the phenomenon: http://www.geocities.com/chatham_girls/home.htm
Either during dinner or directly outside the school gates, along with white dog turds and shredded pornography (if there was a park or alley near to your school), there was an ice cream van that used to sell a Popeye - essentially a small ice cream cone (or 'cornet') but where a flake insertion would produce a "99" alternatively a thin fruit lolly was stuck in (invariably one half of those 'double lollies' which had 2 sticks, snapped in half lengthways) - no idea in hell why it was called a Popeye, anyone know? But also a name called to any one during the course of 'play'/'break' who had something long (stick/ cricket bat/long boot bag, stuffed down the back of their coat at the neck, thus resembling (vaguely at best), said ice cream.
Used when playing cricket (and maybe other games) in the street or playground and following a run being scored RST (pronounced Arr Ess Tee) was shouted signifying you had stopped the run or alternately made it successfully. Basically declaring a temporary time out. The contributor didn't know the origins or what it stood for. He's always wondered what the hell they meant when they said it. (ed: maybe someone can add more?) Great Site. Brought back lots of memories.
A term of general abuse. Although a precise definition is elusive, it was clear from the term's daily usage in my school that the meaning was both specific and insulting. It was essential that the phrase 'you wedgy kegger' was uttered in a shrill, nasal tone, and it was broadly understood to have something to do with smelly pants, perhaps originating from the separate slang phrases 'kegs', meaning pants, and 'wedgies', i.e. the practice of yanking said pants right up the crack of one's unsuspecting victim.
Of poor quality, terrible, shitty, Used as "ou did a piss-poor job on that essay, didn't ya?".
Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)
To pull someone's hair back from the forehead (using your hands pressed against their head) backwards across the top of the head, causing pain to the hairline region in particular. Particularly effective if done from behind, on Tefals, or on girls with big spams (foreheads). When teachers discovered that this was going on in our Essex comp our surly Welsh head of year stood up in front of everyone in assembly and said "There is a practice going around this school called swiftying" to which we all dissolved into laughter.
Describes how an individual puts a finger down the back of his/her pants, digitally entering their own orifice, then wiping said finger on the top lip of an unsuspecting boy or girl (wimps usually the best option). This causes a constant smell of shit on the top lip of the victim throughout the day. Shouting out very loudly to the entire playground ‘Pat Tash’ and pointing can achieve added ridicule. Maybe it's just what happens growing up in Essex?
Noun. Stereotypically describing a female from the county of Essex, or a female of the style of an 'Essex girl'. Characteristics may include being working class, sexually promiscuous, fashion conscious, heavily drinking, confident and of low morals. Derog.

Commanding Officer. Apparently from the Dutch 'Schipper', which means, essentially, "he who ships".
Essentially a toley is a jobby and the application of the word means that insults follow like jobby/shit/shite. A classic dignity stripper. However, toley is rather more personalised and is perversely more effective for being less abrasive. Whereas 'shit' may in some cases be construed as good (the classic 'this is good shit man') there is no positive derviation of toley - it is wholly negative in its connotation! Toley is a word that is often used to greatest effect as part of a more creative insulting ramble e.g "Fuckin' useless toley prick" in much the same way as 'Jesus' as an exclamation is used e.g. "Jesus sufferin' fuck" (ed: so now you know!).
