    ** Job Summary : A Corrections Registered Nurse (RN) provides healthcare services to individuals incarcerated in correctional facilities, ensuring the delivery of quality medical care in a secure and controlled environment. RNs in this role assess, plan, and provide treatment for both acute and chronic health conditions, manage medical emergencies, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to maintain the well-being of incarcerated patients.

    Key Responsibilities :
    Assess and evaluate the health status of incarcerated individuals, including physical exams, medical history reviews, and medication management. Provide care for acute and chronic illnesses, including administering medications, wound care, and managing chronic health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or infections. Respond to medical emergencies, including administering first aid, providing emergency care, and coordinating transportation for offsite care if necessary.

    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional staff, to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients on chronic disease management, medication compliance, and health promotion strategies. Monitor and maintain accurate documentation of patient care, medical records, and treatment plans in compliance with correctional facility policies and legal standards. Participate in healthcare screenings, inmate classification, and intake assessments to ensure appropriate medical care for newly incarcerated individuals.

    Administer and dispense medication according to established guidelines and protocols. Provide mental health support and crisis intervention as needed, in collaboration with mental health professionals. Ensure compliance with correctional facility regulations, safety protocols, and infection control practices. Advocate for inmate healthcare needs, ensuring timely access to medical care, mental health services, and medications. Participate in training programs and staff development initiatives, staying current with healthcare practices and policies relevant to corrections.

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
    Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. Licensure :
    Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Certification :
