    Risk Officer - Banking

    A growing financial institution based in Malta and regulated by the MFSA is urgently seeking a Risk Officer to join their team. As a Risk Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding the business and communicating risk policies and processes within the organization.
    Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be involved in the hands-on development of risk models, including market, credit, and operational risk. You will also ensure that controls are operating effectively and provide research and analytical support.
    This role is 100% office-based and offers a salary of up to €35K, depending on experience. Please note that due to the urgency of the role, only candidates who are already based in Malta will be considered.
    Role and Responsibilities:
    Review ‘Risk’-related frameworks, policies, and procedures of the bank
    Draft the Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Register, and Risk Management Report
    Monitor and report on ESG risk
    Manage DORA risk and reporting
    Assist in preparing the ICAAP/ILAAP/BRRD
    Assist in Pillar 3 disclosures on risk
    Prepare internal risk reports for the Board of Directors
    Monitor risk appetite thresholds
    Prepare the quarterly Credit Risk Report
    Review customer credit risk
    Monitor and manage the bank’s investment portfolio
    Education, Skills, and Experience:
    Degree in a relevant field
    Fluency in English at a C2 or native level, both written and spoken
    Previous experience in banking and/or insurance is a plus
    Strong communication skills
    Experience with ESG and DORA is an advantage
    About this role:
    Competitive salary of up to €35K, depending on experience
    Office-based, Monday to Friday (hybrid not available) in Sliema, Malta
    Based in Malta (with the right to work)
