One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Communications Officer on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Hybrid working role were, however, you will be required to attend the office 2/3 times a week.
Overview:
* To support the development and delivery of the council’s Communication Strategy.
* To support the development and delivery of key organisational messages and campaigns for external and internal audiences, embedding digital communications in everything we do.
* To ensure the use of the council’s corporate identity and ensure correct use by all council staff and partners.
* To offer support to all services in the council to ensure excellent standards for all campaigns and communications.
* To take complex messages and translate them into readable and engaging copy and ensure consistency and accuracy of messages.
* To make best use of digital communication including social media to engage residents, promote stories and raise the profile of Thurrock.
* To support the delivery of a high standard, comprehensive and integrated media management service including the efficient distribution of council media releases and, where appropriate, press conferences and briefings.
* To use research and knowledge about resident profiles and needs, in order to focus messages and information for differing audiences using a range of channels.
