    Two fixed-term opportunities for 12 months
    The Senior Adviser, Learning Design supports the Lead and Principal Advisers to design quality teaching and curriculum products and services, underpinned by research and evidence, for those using Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Whāriki mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa, specifically Te Ara Māori.
    The Senor Adviser, Learning Design will provide assurance that the ongoing review and maintenance cycle of learning design products and services aligns with international best practice for comparable countries, can it be iterated so it meets the OECD guidelines of learning design and meets the needs of our the sector.
    You will be specifically working on the Rangaranga Reo ā-Tā: structured approaches for pānui and tuhituhi; and Pāngarau: structured approaches for pāngarau projects, inclusive of the Pāngarau trial Years 7 - 8, development of resources to support wāhanga ako, and Hāpai Ako (Acelerative learning).

    Working closely with the Lead Advisers to understand the product and services required to support the successful implementation of the projects.
    Developing quality products and services to reflect guidance from specialists across all learning areas of the curriculum.
    Being an effective communicator with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively to colleagues and senior leadership.
    Having a good understanding of the early learning and schooling education system.
    Having a strong strategic mindset, able to understand Government priorities and expectations for project delivery.
    Salary Range: $84,425- $102,271 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

    About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
    The purpose of Te Poutāhū is to lead the national curricula for Aotearoa New Zealand and associated systems and processes of assessment and aromatawai.
    We design, develop and provide curriculum services for teachers, kaiako, leaders, ākonga, their whānau and communities that reflect their identities, languages and cultures. We bring together curriculum, teaching expertise and evidence for the development, support and review of inclusive curricula, assessment and NCEA. Our strengths are across te reo Māori, mātauranga Māori, disability, inclusive learning support and culturally relevant content so that Te Mahau supports learning that is inclusive for all ākonga.
    We support the people who are closest to, and directly serve, ākonga and whānau. We do this through Te Mahau where we connect with the sector, working collaboratively to identify priorities and design local solutions
    The Learning Design team maps teaching to Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Whāriki mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa, specifically Te Ara Māori, to maximise learning for all students. For this, the team requires subject matter expertise across all areas of the national curricula, for those learning through te reo Māori, and in-depth understanding of research-informed best practice for teaching and learning.
    This team would design, deliver, monitor and maintain quality teaching and curriculum-based products and services (including educator resources) for all areas and years of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, Te Whāriki a te Kohanga Reo, and Te Whāriki mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa, specifically focusing on Te Ara Māori.
