    Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

    Location: Bournemouth & Poole, Dorset

    Contract Type: Full-time or part time

    Salary: £(Apply online only) per week

    Job Description:

    We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team in a school based in Dorset. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and experience supporting young learners with special educational needs. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children while fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs

    Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities

    Help to create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement

    Support students with a variety of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and learning difficulties

    Manage and assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

    Assist with personal care needs where required

    Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to ensure the well-being and progress of students

    Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic development

    Monitor and report on student progress and development

    Key Requirements:

    Proven experience working with children, ideally within an educational or special needs setting

    Understanding of special educational needs and how to support students with a variety of learning needs

    Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with children and staff

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    A proactive and flexible approach to work

    A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN-specific training) is desirable but not essential

    Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undertake one)
