    Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
    We are looking for a Capability Development Advisor superstar!
    You will be part of a dynamic and agile team reporting to the Manager Procurement Workforce and Capability, within New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP). While this role will be working in the NZ Government Procurement branch at MBIE, you don't need to be a procurement professional but an interest in capability is desirable.
    As Capability Development Advisor, you will be a key member of our team, working to enhance the skills and expertise of the procurement workforce across the public sector. You will work within the Procurement Workforce and Capability team, contributing to the design, development and implementation of workforce and capability initiatives.
    This role provides an opportunity to work collaboratively with other government agencies to provide support at all levels of government procurement. The teams work focuses on supporting and building the procurement capability of agencies through numerous avenues such as individual training and development, organisational capability assessments and providing data and insights. You will be expected to provide support for agencies implementing functional lead initiatives.
    You will be expected to provide support to our team through monitoring our external mailbox and managing our work programme planning, agile sprints and retrospectives. This role provides an opportunity to work collaboratively with other government agencies to provide support at all levels of procurement.

    We are keen to hear from you if you have:

    Demonstrated knowledge of theory and good practice in Learning and Development
    Contributed to projects, completing tasks to scope, time and budget, and achieving successful outcomes.
    Understanding of Agile methodology particularly facilitating sprints.
    Understanding of procurement and able to learn and relay procurement concepts and processes to a wide audience with differing levels of understanding and experience.
    Able to identify key risks, issues or actions.
    Understanding of good commercial practice.
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Understanding of public sector context, New Zealand machinery of government and government procurement policy would be an advantage but is not essential.
