I don’t have a ‘full moon ritual’, or even stick to practicing on every full/new moon, but every now and then I feel called to connect.

Last night was one of those nights💫

I jotted down this mantra I’ve been repeating daily & burned it under the full moon.

I also jotted down a handful of close humans in my life and burned that below the moonlight as well.

Two different teas were brewed beneath the full moon — one oat straw, one nourishing blend✨ One to sip with my sweet friend @cellfulfillment and the other to sip on my birthday🌿

The moon is a constant companion of mine and I treasured the time spent setting intentions and thinking fondly of loved ones yesterday.

wholisticwellness I met with my midwife today, and I wasn't even nervous! I behaved myself over Christmas, and I felt great, body and mind. I've been staying active the last few weeks between long neighborhood walks with the kids, small hikes, and even prenatal workouts a few times per week. Baby is moving great! I've been feeding my body what I feel that it needs, but the midwife says I need to eat more. After measuring me and seeing my weight she told me I need to let myself

I met with my midwife today, and I wasn't even nervous! I behaved myself over Christmas, and I felt great, body and mind. I've been staying active the last few weeks between long neighborhood walks with the kids, small hikes, and even prenatal workouts a few times per week. Baby is moving great! I've been feeding my body what I feel that it needs, but the midwife says I need to eat more. After measuring me and seeing my weight she told me I need to let myself "be bad every once in awhile" 😅 She told me all the good bakeries and ice cream shops in town and encouraged me to indulge! While I don't think I'll go the route she was thinking, I am now going to add taking in even more healthy calories than I was before to my self care. I wanna fatten this baby up in the next four weeks, but I don't want to make my body feel sick or sluggish by indulging in too much junk. What are your favorite snacks or treats? Goat cheese and crackers are my guilty pleasure 😏 oh, and chocolate. All the dark chocolate.

wholisticwellness So guys....I want to talk about transforming your body! I’m going to be completely open and honest with you. I would honestly order Uber eats like 5 times a week at one point and bringing myself back to eating consistently healthy was such a challenge. I was up and down with my food, clean....then binging, loosing weight then gaining weight!

I confess....I have the tendency to be an emotional eater and I still do, sometimes these things are engrained deep within our subconscious mind. 
So what’s the difference, how do you make the change?

Firstly....I started to become aware of my thoughts! Your thoughts create your reality....they determine your feelings and your feelings determine your actions...I.e over eating!

Now that I am more aware of my thoughts....I have control over my actions because I can choose how I want to perceive things and this in turn has an impact on the results in which I create! I started listening to an awesome life coach and that literally changed my life and I am forever thankful! Her name is Brooke Castillo for anyone who wants to check out her stuff!

Secondly I challenged myself to a long term goal that wasn’t about my body image, it was about the way my body felt and functioned and I stuck to it! -
These changes didn’t happen over night...don’t look for the fast option, look for the life changing sustainable one! We all want to just be told what to do but I suggest taking the time to learn more about YOU! Then watch not just your body, but your life transform!

I had an injury, probably gained about 10kg and I really struggled to bring my body back to what felt right or normal for me! Inside the corn tortillas is jack fruit mixed with  poblano peppers and “pepper jack cheese”. I used @daiyafoods as the substitute- taste really good- it’s a must try. On top is pico de gallo with green chile tomatillo salsa. Other than the cheese this dish is 100% homemade and 100% vegan 🌱 .

Spending time in natural environments, away from fluorescent lights and the whirl of technology is a huge refresher for our minds and bodies.

And most of the time, we have access to it right beyond our front doors 24/7.

Getting outside more often can be as simple as biking to a nice spot for sunset with a friend, sipping your morning coffee/tea outside, taking a walk around the block during lunch, or stopping roadside and walking to get a better view (myself in the above photo🙋🏼‍♀️) along with so many other simple activities to sneak in a little more time outside each day.

You don’t need half a day or more to enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis, all you need is a little creativity 🎨💭

Staying home is probably my biggest comfort zone.

I am soo comfortable not going out, BUT every now and then I do miss out by staying in.

Pushing my comfort zone of being in big crowds is something I am constantly working on — and the more I am exposed to positive situations with large groups of people, the less anxious I get for the next one.

Going to farmers markets, small town gatherings, live music and other community oriented events are a great way for me to become more comfortable with crowds, while affording me the opportunity to connect with others 1:1💫

And I have a confession...I’m a hypocrite guys 🤦🏻‍♀️ I mean I have my skin care rituals of course but what I was lacking was my hair and my scalp. We never pay attention to something until an alarm goes off🚨🚨🚨. We take our bodies for granted until something hurts. Even as little as a paper cut. But for me, I neglected my hair. Well, let’s be real I was neglecting more than that but that’s another story for another day💁🏻‍♀️ My body was under so much stress, I was doing it to myself. But the alarm finally when off when I noticed my hair was thinner in my ponytails. Or when it wasn’t taking me that long to curl my hair. And then I started to explore my scalp and what I found caused me to panic. My stress was so bad I had alopecia. Now, for those that don’t know what that is, it’s when you lose your hair. There are different forms of it and mine comes under extreme stress. I’d only experienced it once before. But this time, I had multiple spots. I did a LIVE IG story this morning and shared those photos. That was a vulnerable moment for me. But someone else may be experiencing or have experienced and would like some guidance. So here I share my hair products that I love so much!! Have really made my hair strong and healthy again!! Then I have pictured the treatments that I do for my hair twice a month. I use the recovery oil and scalp tonic and my Reflexology tool to rake my scalp to bring nutrients to the scalp and hair follicles. I also use Vital Protein everyday in my coffee. Not only is my hair growing back (with 5 grey hairs I found 👵🏼😄) I am learning to appreciate my body as a whole. And not to take for granted what I have. To thank my body for being so good to me after how I treat it and I don’t always nourish it with greens🥬🥦. I love greens but 🌮🍕are just as good 💁🏻‍♀️. JUST BE GRATEFUL. And give yourself grace. Take ahold of your stress, your life and care for it like you would an infant. You only get one body. Be kind to it and be kind to the environment it must live in💛🖖🏼🌿🌻

You can do yoga in your spot. Meditate. Pull tarot cards. Write in your journal. Eat a picnic. Sip on a spritzy ‘booch. Complete a homework assignment. Take a nap. . . the list is endless — it’s kind of like having a traveling playroom/workspace😛

Interested in getting upside down with your yoga practice?🤸🏼‍♀️Looking for some tips to get started? Check out the below pointers to help you get more comfortable upside down!

𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙍𝙏 𝙃𝙀𝙍𝙀 ⇩
1. Warm up the body with a juicy yoga flow beforehand.
2. Come into downward facing dog. Hands pressing away from the mat. Belly button tucked into the spine.
3. Lower onto the forearms coming into dolphin pose. Only the arms move! Keep everything else in alignment with down dog.
4. From dolphin, engage the core and slowly walk the feet towards your arms, then walk back into dolphin. Repeat 3-5x.
5. Come back to dolphin, engage the core, press the forearms away from the mat, lift the hips to the sky — from here, you can practice lifting one foot off the mat at a time or even bring both feet off the ground if it feels comfortable.
6. Return to dolphin and lower the knees to the ground, coming into child's pose for a rest.

As always, go at your own pace and enjoy the process. Have fun, wild spirits!

Insert: 🍁Pure Maple Syrup!

Maple syrup is a wonderful staple to keep on hand to naturally sweeten everything from overnight oats to granola, toast, yogurt, cakes, cookies, coffee and so much more!

I have been using @vermontsticky whenever I can get my hands on it — a locally owned company here in the valley but sourced from a family farm out in Vermont. This stuff is SO GOOD😋 #notsponsored

If you can’t get your hands on VT Sticky, any high quality natural maple syrup will do.

Iced Maple Oat Milk Latte Recipe:
✧ Fill a glass to the brim with ice
✧ Add in a splash of maple syrup to the bottom of the cup
✧ Brew 2-4oz. of strong coffee (french press, pour-over, moka pot, drip, etc.)
✧ Pour brewed coffee overtop of the maple syrup + ice and stir
✧ Fill glass with oat milk (or milk of choice)
✧ Sip + enjoy!

Do you allow yourself to daydream. -

Look I know daydreaming, dreams seems like a fairytale\, or like living in a fantasy world. But practicality and common sense knows that dreams, visions are not just handed out or given to you without some sort of exchange. -

Time, effort, work, action scarfaices whatever it is dreams, visions dont just fall into our lap.
The fairytale or fantasy is daydreaming, or having dreams then expecting that the universe is going to give it to you for nothing. -

Either way we choose to live with inspiration we choose to follow vision or we choose by not choosing to live in survival, live as a victim of not choosing or deciding. Either way were choosing intentionally deliberately or unconsciously. -

I also to believe that we are not given visions that we can not achieve. 
Yes it requires us to up level ourself its requires us to overcome the bs that society, colonisation, belief systems, have most captured in. It requires us as a individual becoming more of who our creator made us to be. -

I dont think in this life time ill ever reach my full unearthly potential. -

Heck yes you can go camping the night before work or school — you just gotta plan for it💫

I started one of my last college semesters today and wanted to get out and camp last night before school started up.

They key with camping on a school or work night is to keep things simple and be prepared.

Here are some tips to get you out there:
↟ Pack a simple dinner + breakfast or eat in a nearby town and support the local community
↟ Don’t bring too much! You won’t need a bagful of clothes — pajamas & one adventure outfit to wear to and from will do (+ work attire if required)
↟ Know how to set up your sleeping situation (i.e tent, hammock, camper, etc.) quickly. . . and in the dark!
↟ Have your phone fully charged and set with multiple alarms to get you up and outta the woods in time to make that first class or meeting✔️
↟ Keep your backpack and any work or school related items in your car so you can go straight from trail to boardroom
↟ A toothbrush + deodorant

Have you ever made your own? Its super easy and you most likely have the ingredients in your home. .

Here’s what you do. 
1. Choose your jar. I use the short wide mouth mason jars with the canning lids {or better yet, the white plastic lids from Canadian tire} .

2. Add in your preferred Sugar to the top. I love the coarse-ness of brown sugar with some turbinado sugar. If you’re making a face scrub/ sensitive skin scrub, you’re going to want to use white sugar. .

3. Cover your sugar with FCO {fractionated coconut oil. Make sure its the kind that stays liquid}
.

4. Add in your essential oils, my favourites so far are Ginger + Lime or Wild Orange + Peppermint or Geranium, Ylang Ylang + Patchouli. —> Keep in mind that you will need to use more essential oils if you are using brown sugar b/c of the overpowering smell of the sugar. .

These are some great oils for their skin purifying properties: .
✨ Tea Tree if you tend to have super oily skin.
.
✨ Geranium for overall support. .
✨ Aromatouch or Cypress or Peppermint for circulation. .
✨ Wild orange + Peppermint for Energizing + Up lifting. .

wholisticwellness Transcendental Meditation 🧘🏻‍♀️ (TM for short) ... is broadly defined as as activity that calms the mind to focus on being in the present moment. We do this by closing the eyes, concentrating on a specific sound such as the breath as you inhale and exhale. Studies show that TM is effective in controlling anxiety, enhancing the immune system and reducing symptoms of stress such as high blood pressure. TM has also been used to treat chronic pain and control substance abuse. The physiologic response to stress is controlled by the autonomic nervous system; the involuntary part of our nervous system that controls heart rate, blood pressure + digestion. There are 2 branches within this system: the sympathetic & parasympathetic. SYMPATHETIC nervous system is our “flight or fight” response where as the PARASYMPATHETIC helps us recover from stress - “rest & digest.” During stress the body releases hormones such as cortisol & adrenaline which increase heart rate, slow digestion & raise blood pressure. If we are continually in this state of stress, our body doesn’t get a chance to “rest & digest” creating imbalance in the body + a number of dis-ease states. Even 5 minutes a day of meditation helps us to lower blood pressure, take care of our nervous system, be present & always find some clarity in our daily lives 🌿🌸
