I’m constantly looking for ways to enjoy grains with legumes with minimal discomfort so I’m experimenting with different grains. Today, I made this lentil & mushroom ragu with spelt pasta for lunch 😍 Spelt is supposedly easier for your body to digest than wheat because it is more water soluble. This was a one-pot dish. I simply cooked 90g lentils with 1 finely chopped shallot, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 tsp Madras curry powder, ½ teaspoon ground coriander, ½ teaspoon ground cumin, 300ml veggie broth, 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped coriander and 1 chopped red 🌶. I let this simmer for 20 mins before adding ½ a medium courgette and 100g of chopped cherry 🍅. I simmered for another 6 minutes then served in a bowl alongside the bread. You can eat this Stew with rice, potatoes or naan bread. #simplevegan #simpleveganrecipes #lentils

Y’all this breakfast was so delicious that my husband had a dream about it. 😂😂😂
🌿Ingredients: 
2 Pieces of Toast 
1 Medium Avocado 
1 Tbs Lemon 
Chili Powder
2 Boiled Eggs
Salt and Pepper to Taste 🌿Directions: 
Boil water then bring to a rapid simmer. Cook eggs until soft boil. (5-7 minutes). Once cooked, put them in cold water for five minutes before peeling shells off.
While cooling, skin and mash your avocado. Mix in your chili pepper, salt, pepper, and lemon. 
Spread your avocado evenly on your toasts.
ENJOY! Happy Wednesday! ☀️☀️☀️

No preservative
No artificial flavour 
No added refined sugar

Dry Ingredients 
1 & 3/4 cup organic almond flour 
1/4  cup tapioca flour
1/2 cup non alkalized cacao powder 
1/3 cup Belgium chocolate callebaut 70%
1/3 cup arenga palm sugar
1 ts baking powder
1 ts baking soda

Wet ingredients
2 tbs pure ghee 
1/3 cup coconut oil @medellacoco 
3 free range eggs 
Instructions
Mix the wet and dry ingredients (except chocolate chip) in a different bowl.
Pour  the  wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix 3/4 chocolate chip into the dough. Mix until even. 
Divide into 4 and decorate it with the remaining 1/4  Chocolate chip

Baked for  25 minutes or less at. 220'c 
Enjoy

Now that Fall is slowly making its way into our lives, this delish dish is the ultimate comfort food meal! Did I mention it is super easy to make and suited for vegetarians, vegans and plant-based alike? Can also be made GF 🌱
Here is the recipe:
🌱1 bag of pasta (17.6 oz), preferably a long-shaped one or any medium size (I used casarecce). Can be GF, wheat or durum wheat semolina
🌱1 package of @beyondmeat beyond beef plant-based ground 🌱1 can of Marinara sauce
🌱1/4 cup of white dry wine (optional)
🌱1/2 chopped onion
🌱1 clove of garlic (crushed)
🌱1 tsp of dried oregano
🌱1 cup of sweet peas

Plant-based Bolognese pasta casserole🍝 yuuuuum! Now that Fall is slowly making its way into our lives, this delish dish is the ultimate comfort food meal! Did I mention it is super easy to make and suited for vegetarians, vegans and plant-based alike? Can also be made GF 🌱 Here is the recipe: 🌱1 bag of pasta (17.6 oz), preferably a long-shaped one or any medium size (I used casarecce). This cake is MADE IN A BLENDER! The whole mandarin, with skin goes in (except seeds). Doesn’t get easier! This cake was really popular in Argentina a couple of years ago, my family and friends were all over this recipe and shared it with me. It’s delicious + fragrant. Love it on the weekends for breakfast or as an afternoon treat. Have you ever made a cake in a blender? So easy. *Tip- always keep self rising flour in your pantry. Baking becomes a breeze.*😉 Preheat oven to 340°F (170°C)
Ingredients:
* 3 seedless mandarins (skin and all)
* 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar * 3 eggs (room temperature)
* 1/4 cup + 2 tsp melted coconut or vegetable oil * 2 cups self raising flour
* 1 tsp vanilla (optional) * Blend the orange, eggs, oil and sugar
* Put this mixture in a bowl, add flour
* Mix with rubber spatula softly. Do NOT over-mix
(if batter feels too thick, add a splash of water or milk, or more oil)
* Pour the batter into a 9x5 inch pan, (previously greased and floured)
* Sprinkle some sugar on top for a nice crust * Bake in preheated oven (340°F) for 35 mins or until fully cooked. Check interior with toothpick or knife. Let it cool out of oven 10 mins before slicing.

wholefoodrecipes Let’s talk lunch. It’s a meal I sometimes struggle with whether it’s a work from home day or kids at home day sometimes it gets a bit rushed to make it anything decent but I do my best. It’s all about balance.⠀

This was my lunch two days last week - a fried egg, roast pumpkin, broccoli with fermented cashew cheese, some feta stuffed olives and toasted pumpkin seeds on top.⠀
.⠀
I do my best to make sure there’s a decent dose of veggies in there (the baby growing in my tum is a good motivator!), good fats, protein and some form of probiotic-goodness like fermented veggies or cashew cheese or even a side of kombucha (yes I know not everyone recommends it in pregnancy, I make my own rules). ⠀
.⠀
A few easy tips to make sure you’ve always got something decent on hand for a quick but nutritious mum lunch:⠀
*****************⠀
- the freezer is your friend - I always try and freeze leftovers of things like meatballs, leftover roast, shredded beef and sausages so I’ve got an easy protein and some servings of brown rice or quinoa⠀
- eggs are the easiest protein their is - a few mins in the pan and you’re done ⠀
- roast a stack of veggies on the weekend, add some protein each day and some seeds on top and you have a 2 min lunch you can take on the go⠀
- pre-chop veggies on the weekend too (I’ve always got a container of broccoli prechopped to cook for lunch and dinner) ⠀
- make up a big batch of something (zucchini slice is one of my fav go-tos) and freeze it for quick and easy lunches⠀

Eating a decent, real food lunch doesn’t have to be hard but if we mums want to function at our best, it’s pretty up there in importance.⠀

Now again don’t get me wrong, I ordered Uber eats hot chips on Friday. No judgement here. I just do my best as best I can! .

wholefoodrecipes You guys, I get SO much joy when I look in my pantry and all my nuts and produce are in recycled jars 😍😍 Nuts and seeds are my FAVE source of healthy fats (tied with coconut, I can’t choose between my two loves) and I have a serious problem with snacking on them ALL DAY. And I didn’t have to go anywhere special to get them, I was just in Woollies. But it is so important. Regardless of where you personally stand regarding the environment, we need to keep our own personal environment as clean as possible for our future health. Study after study links environmental toxins to the increase of chronic conditions we are currently seeing. If you’re watching what you put in your body, or your children’s- HURRAY!💕⭐️🥳👌🙏🏼👍🏻👏😎 that’s awesome. •There’s another factor- what your body is exposed to. • Low chemical exposure is kinda a fact of life these days so I don’t get too caught up, but if you think of your cleaning materials, soap, body’s wash, deodorant and body spray, make up, washing powder and softeners... that’s a LOT of potential for chemicals. • so my aim is always to help find affordable, useable alternatives that don’t cost the earth or your health. • You and your family might currently feel like you’re fine, you don’t experience any rashes or headaches, so why change now? But what if I said it was more of a accumulation we need to be concerned with? By adulthood our kids may have been exposed to hundreds of chemicals daily for their whole childhood. Kept it simple with homemade guacamole and salsa. Skipped the cheese and sour cream.

Used these delicious coconut wraps that we had - so thin and super delicious!

We never feel deprived when we make healthy alternatives so I don’t know why I waiver. Such a yummy meal tonight!

Keeping it real - my eating has been less than stellar the last two weeks. Not sure if it’s being tired, hormone changes, a change in schedule or just life. I have all the tools at my disposal but you have to actually put them into place for this to work. Who knew!? Figs are delicious cooked with carmelized onions, arugula and goat cheese on flatbread. You will want to cook the flatbread in the oven with the carmelized onions and cheese first! Then add the arugula and figs. Sweet and savory heaven!

You could just as easily toss some sliced figs into a salad. Mixed greens, blueberries, feta cheese and figs with a balsamic dressing sounds good to me! Slivered almonds instead of feta would also be delicious😋

Figs are also lovely cooked down into jams or syrups. There are tons of recipes online that are very simple and involve only cooking down figs, a little lemon juice and sugar. How delicious would homemade fig jam be on a slice of toast? Or drizzled on your favorite yogurt?

We first started pizza Sunday when I’d go to our local farmers markets up the road on a Sunday morning and there was a little Italian stall that had pre-made pizzas.⠀

Then I started buying our bases and topping them myself with tomato paste as the sauce. Partly to save $, partly to control the topping. ⠀
.⠀
A year or so later I discovered @lauckeflour at a food bloggers conference and started making the bases with their kits.

These days, I make my own bases (search fool-proof pizza on the blog for the recipe - I’m adding the Thermo version tonight) from scratch so I know exactly what’s in them and the sauce has hidden veggies.⠀

Don’t get me wrong though. I still occasionally buy the kits or order good old Uber Eats pizza. It’s all about balance but but always trying to sneak in added goodness wherever I can (the veggie packed tomato sauce recipe is on the blog too).⠀

wholefoodrecipes Chimichurri Beef Pasta

Sometimes the most random meals come together and end up becoming a repeat dish. This will be one.

Sauté up a pound of pasture raised ground beef. Toast 1/2 tsp of turmeric in there in the fat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, coriander, and mustard powder. Add in diced bell pepper (I used yellow) and quartered sugar plum or cherry tomatoes.

In a food processor add two very generous handfuls of arugula, two generous handfuls of parsley, a big handful of cilantro, zest and juice of a lemon, sprinkle of crushed red pepper, two shallots, couple cloves raw garlic, salt, pepper, tsp oregano, 2Tbs red wine vinegar. Let it run while drizzling in some EVOO until it makes a thick sauce.

Combine sauce and meat with cooked macaroni noodles. I love @jovialfoods made with nothing but organic brown rice. They’re delicious.

I topped mine with some hot sauce 🔥

Chimichurri Beef Pasta Sometimes the most random meals come together and end up becoming a repeat dish. This will be one. Sauté up a pound of pasture raised ground beef. Toast 1/2 tsp of turmeric in there in the fat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, coriander, and mustard powder. Add in diced bell pepper (I used yellow) and quartered sugar plum or cherry tomatoes. In a food processor add two very generous handfuls of arugula, two generous handfuls of parsley, a big handful of cilantro, zest and juice of a lemon, sprinkle of crushed red pepper, two shallots, couple cloves raw garlic, salt, pepper, tsp oregano, 2Tbs red wine vinegar. Let it run while drizzling in some EVOO until it makes a thick sauce. Combine sauce and meat with cooked macaroni noodles. I love @jovialfoods made with nothing but organic brown rice. First batch was actually not very successful so decided to start all over again. I did not want too much banana taste and a bit more coconut than what I managed to accomplish during first test.

I therefore decided to use shredded coconut flakes since I wanted more of a light milk for this blend, more equal to coconut water. This time I used more flakes than I normally do when making coconut milk.

How to: 
You simply grind your flakes and stop just before it starts to glue on the bottom of the blender (about 15 seconds). After this you add salt and water and blend for about 40 seconds. You thereafter add the remaining ingredients and blend again until smooth.

pinch of Himalayan salt
2 dl water
1 small banana
1,5 dl frozen mango
1,5 dl frozen pineapple

1 ½ cups gluten free flour 
Im not really good at creating recipes, but I whisked the eggs, butter & maple syrup all together first ( make sure well mixed )  I then added the other ingredients with the flour being last 
Temp at 180 for about 35 minutes -  w a side of cream or butter because / balance 😉

Carrots are also a versatile vegetable for cooking! You can roast them whole or in thick slices with just a bit of olive oil, salt, pepper and perhaps a fresh herb of your choice. Usually 400F for about 20 minutes on a sheet pan is enough time

There are a variety of recipes online ranging from super decadent to healthier versions with lighter cream cheese frostings. Carrots are also great in breads and muffins. I’ve even seen carrot oatmeal recipes!

Since the holidays will be upon us, another fun recipe is glazed carrots. You can use honey, brown sugar, balsamic and even bourbon! The easiest way to do this is heating your oil first in a skillet, slicing the carrots into halves or smaller pieces and sautéing them about 10 minutes, then adding your glaze of choice at the end, mixing it to coat the carrots.

What you’ll need - ✨ 1/2 cup hot Almond & Coconut Milk @pureharvest ✨ 1/2 tsp MCT oil @coconutmagic ✨1-2 tsp coconut sugar @loving_earth , honey or rice malt syrup ✨ 1-2 tsp coffee ( I love the organic decaf from @republicaorganic ✨Cinnamon  powder 1/2 tsp ✨Vanilla bean ✨Hot water ✨☕️Add all ingredients together then froth the milk, then add hot water, add sprinkles of cinnamon & coconut sugar to the top. Swapping the regular sugar to coconut means lesser calories. Swapping the regular milk to plant based milk means easier digestion for me, less acne & I prefer the flavour of plant based milk, swapping to decaf means you can still enjoy coffee but without caffeine which means you can prevent nervousness, difficulty Sleeping, restlessness, irritability and headaches. Chamomile is best known for its ability to calm us down and bring a sense of well being. When brewed as a tea before bed, it can help to facilitate restful sleep and calm anxiety.
Chamomile is also a great anti-inflammatory herb. She helps to calm spasms in the body, including digestive problems from IBS, muscular-skeletal pain, headaches and other general inflammation. You can also use chamomile topically to help heal wounds, burns and rashes. 🌼

Chamomile tea ☕️ - 2 c boiling water
- 1-3 tbsp dried loose leaf chamomile
- 1 tbsp raw honey

Pour boiling water over the herb and allow to steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain, stir in honey and enjoy! 💛

Do you want a flavorful, fork tender beef taco in under an hour?  Then this recipe is for you!  Here’s a great #instantpot recipe especially if you are new to the IP.  My husband, Dan, came up with the barbacoa sauce, so I’m naming this one after him. ❤️

Dan’s Beef Barbacoa Tacos
•
Combine the following in a food processor: 1 San Marzano tomato diced (Roma would work, too), 1 small onion diced, 3 chipotle peppers (in adobo sauce), 4-6 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, the juice of 1 lime.  Purée on high and drizzle in olive oil until thin, sauce-like consistency. Add sea salt to taste. 
Place small beef roast (we used a 2 lb rolled rump roast) in the IP.  Pour sauce over roast.  Close and lock IP lid.  Ensure knob is in the “sealing” position.  Turn on IP to manual mode and cook for 45 mins.  Once done cooking, let IP “slow release”for 10 mins before opening lid.  Shred beef and serve tacos with shredded red cabbage, cilantro, and cojita cheese. I made a creamy avocado lime dressing for these as well (1 avocado chopped, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, juice of half a lime, 1 garlic clove, handful fresh cilantro leaves, 1 tablespoon honey, and sea salt to taste—purée all in food processor).

This meal’s local ingredients included: garden San marzano (my favorite tomatoes) and garden cilantro (last of it before going to seed). As I mentioned before, our beef isn’t technically local, but we know and #loveourfarmers (family downstate MI).

I am planning to use fruits that you will find in the jungle / rainforest. Actually, a lot of the fruits we enjoy in the Western countries have their roots in the Amazon rainforest. Fruits like mangoes, lemons, oranges as well as a lot of others grow there.

This one was quite simple to make. However, very tasty! I simply added all ingredients to my blender but the ice and blended until smooth. Thereafter strained to get rid of half of the pulp to make it a bit less heavy. Then you just add ice cubes and blend again.

It is super easy to make and perfect to start getting into Fall mode. 🍁 Here is the recipe for ya:
🍎3/4 cup of apple sauce
🍏3 apples peeled and sliced
🍎1/2 cup of coconut flour
🍏1 cup of unbleached flour (if you want to replace it with a GF flour, make sure you respect the ratio)
🍎1 cup of plant-based milk (I used coconut milk)
🍏1/2 cup of agave syrup
🍎1 tsp of baking powder
🍏1/2 tsp of baking soda
🍎2 tsp of vanilla extract 🍏1 Tbsp of organic cane sugar
Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C)
Line a 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease and flour
Add applesauce, milk and sugar in a bowl and mix well.
Add vanilla extract and both flours, as well as the baking powder and the baking soda to the mix. Mix well.
Transfer mixture to the baking pan and add the pieces of apple to it.
Sprinkle the sugar on top and bake in the oven for about 40 to 45 minutes.
Insert a knife in the cake and if the blade is dry when you release it, the cake is baked.
Remove from the oven and let cool before eating.
Enjoy!

Here is a super delish plant-based version of the traditional Apple Rustic Cake... 🍎 🍏 It is super easy to make and perfect to start getting into Fall mode. 🍁 Here is the recipe for ya: 🍎3/4 cup of apple sauce 🍏3 apples peeled and sliced 🍎1/2 cup of coconut flour 🍏1 cup of unbleached flour (if you want to replace it with a GF flour, make sure you respect the ratio) 🍎1 cup of plant-based milk (I used coconut milk) 🍏1/2 cup of agave syrup 🍎1 tsp of baking powder 🍏1/2 tsp of baking soda 🍎2 tsp of vanilla extract 🍏1 Tbsp of organic cane sugar Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C) Line a 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease and flour Add applesauce, milk and sugar in a bowl and mix well. Add vanilla extract and both flours, as well as the baking powder and the baking soda to the mix. Mix well. Transfer mixture to the baking pan and add the pieces of apple to it. Sprinkle the sugar on top and bake in the oven for about 40 to 45 minutes. Insert a knife in the cake and if the blade is dry when you release it, the cake is baked. Remove from the oven and let cool before eating. • Double the recipe for large salads.
• Add a fresh or sundried tomato and some dried Italian
herbs for a creamy Italian dressing that is yummo!
• You could sweeten with a little stevia if you prefer a

Zucchini noodles are very popular, because they mimic pasta in their shape, but they are a lower carbohydrate version of the noodle called a zoodle

Zoodles are easily created by slicing off the ends of the zucchini and placing it on a spiralizer. You can then heat them with a little oil on medium heat and add fresh herbs, pesto, or whatever you may fancy

Grilled zucchini is another option that isn’t too complicated. If you have a grill, you can pre-heat it and lightly oil the grate. Slice your zucchini and brush it with a bit of oil and your choice of seasonings. An indoor grill like the George Foreman is great too!

A sweet way to use zucchini is to add it to baked goods, like zucchini bread. It doesn’t necessarily add any specific flavor, but it can add moisture and is a great way to add vegetables into your diet

Samo tri sastojka od kojih se ne zna koji je bolji, vreme za pripremu je od 3-5 minuta, a ukus je takav da mi je žao što nestaju dok ih jedem (ko zna o čemu pričam sve mu je jasno😂😂)
Sastojci:
-sveže urme -kakao nibs (sirova kakao zrnca)
-čist kakao prah
Recept:
Urme očistiti od košpica i naseci ih sitno nožem, pa ubaciti u posudicu sa ostala 2 sastojka i gnjaviti rukom dok smesa ne bude skroz kompaktna (što je kroz 1-2 min), zatim oblikovati kuglice.
Meni je za ovih 5 kuglica bilo potrebno 8 velikih urmi, 3 ravne supene kašike kakaa i puna supena kašika zrnaca👏🏼
Ovo je opadno dobar slatkiš😎
