wellbeing Woke up a little earlier today so made an oatmilk mocha and decided to wander the cobbled streets before work, with the latest High Low podcast in my ears. I’m sure most normal people would just use the extra 20 mins to arrive at work early and get a head start on the day. I ended up walking 10 mins too far in the wrong direction and then doing the classic run/shuffle back to work. Arrived hot and sweaty, but bang on time 😅

Not only did we change, but we did so in a flash ⚡️. ‘I thought about some of the ideas 💡 in American academic Theodore Roszak’s 1992 book The Voice of the Earth, and how it might be that many of the ailments people are bringing to their doctors and therapists-their “agonies of body and spirit,” - are in fact, a planetary emergency registering in the most intimate part of ourselves. “The earth 🌍 hurts” he wrote, “and we hurt with it.” ‘

David Leser wrote beautifully in this weekend’s (May 30th) Age Good Weekend magazine. 
He speaks about, and l have read this book 📚, The Hidden Life of Trees, by Peter Wohllenben. He has found that the trees in natural forests speak to each other through a clever network of fungi. They tell other trees of danger and help sick trees by directing sugars and water to them so they heal.

The trees 🌲 look out for each other. 
We are definitely seeing more of this reaching out during this time of isolation, but what’s gong to happen later, once things return to ‘normal’. Are we going to look out for each other still?

David, the author the the article was clearly upset with all the changes going on in our environment, things that us humans are largely responsible for. He was hurting. I’m worried 😟 too. What is this planet 🌍 going to look like for my grandchildren, grandnieces and grandnephews?

What we do to each other we do to the environment and what we do to the environment we do to each other.

Let’s start listening, we have proven to ourselves that we can change. Let’s hope we can change for the better.

Often people say -  they smell so nice but I'm not sure how I will use essential oils. The thing is - everyone uses them differently which is the cool thing about these little amber bottles. Here's some inspiration:

1. They smell amazing and are a safe, cost effective way to purify an indoor environment. In fact the 'Purify' blend is the best way to get rid of any stinky smells!

2. Add to food or drink to boost flavour. Try a drop of Green Mandarin in your soda water.

3. Pump up your skincare routine by using oils like Frankincense, Black Spruce, Lavender or Geranium with your cleanser or moisturiser.

4. Add a drop of Lemon Eucalyptus to shampoo for extra cleansing power.

5. Rub a drop of Whisper in your palms then run through your hair before going out.

6. Soothe sore muscles by massaging 2 drops each of Ice Blue and Copaiba essential oils with a carrier oil like Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO). 7. Feeling worried about something - try rolling Adaptiv Touch up and down your spine and on the soles of your feet.

8. Feeling the 3pm slump coming on at work - rub peppermint on the back of your neck, cup your hands over your nose and breathe 
9. Add 10 drops of lemon and 10 drops of On Guard to a 500ml spray bottle and top with cooled boiled water for an easy all purpose cleaning spray.

10. Place a cotton bud inside your pillowcase with a drop or two of Lavender or Lavender Peace on it, for a restful night's sleep 😴

wellbeing I was heading towards a hypo this morning. Thankfully my cgm alarmed me before my lows are predicted and I caught myself at 4.7 but those early morning ‘going low’ moments really get me thinking. How amazing simply AMAZING that we pull ourselves together and do what we can to literally stay alive. I was in the most deep, warm sleep and it PISSED ME OFF so much that I woke up because I was going low but then the WOOAH. First off my body has recognised that something isn’t right, I’ve just had a juice box which will bring my sugars up in about 15 minutes and I sit there with some of the worst hypo symptoms ever and still smash down whatever I need so I don’t pass out. That we literally do take place of something broken that’s still inside of us with no purpose anymore. I am my pancreas and although I wish I didn’t ever get diabetes, I am so thankful my body keeps up and so do I. That I switch into some kinda super human mode and get myself up every single time. I’ve never needed to use the glucagon and I NEVER want too!! 🩸
