Start With Hello Week founded by Sandy Hook Promise, a national non-profit organization and lead by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, turned a tragedy into a national movement to help others. I am so honored to bring this program to the school!

This whole week is focused on combating social isolation, being kind to one another, reaching out if you see someone alone and simply starting with hello. The students will engage with each other throughout the week through activities such as a the many ways to say hello, a kindness challenge, love your “selfie” activity, human bingo and more. I am training 48 “hello” ambassadors today and I am so excited to start this program at the school! I challenge you to compliment someone, do a random act of kindness, or just say hello to someone and brighten their day, it means more than you can imagine. ☀️ #startwithhello

I always have some kind of bean sprouting in my kitchen, and love to change it up week to week. This week it’s white beans! You can try this blog recipe with cannellini, great northern beans or cranberry beans (creamier!) Sprouting beans makes them easier to digest, breaks down the unhealthy phytonutrients and increases the good nutrients. If you want to try sprouting, I’ve outlined it on the blog for you, if you want to skip it, I recommend soaking dried beans overnight vs. canned.

Sevgili Refika'dan @refikabirgul öğrenmiştim peynir yapmayı. Çok kolay. Hadi siz de deneyin.

2 litre organik süt (Cam şişede günlük süt)
1 limon suyu (Limonun ekşiligini, keskinliğini kontrol edin. Çok ekşi olmasın. Çok keskin olunca limon tadı peynire geçiyor. Mümkünse kalın kabuk limonlardan kullanın.) Sütü tencereye koyup kaynatın. Kaynayınca limon suyunu ilave edin. Kısık ateşte karıştırın. Topaklanma başlayınca karıştırmayı bırakın, topaklanmasına izin verin. Dakikalar içinde mucize bir dönüşümle yeşilimsi peynir altı suyunun oluştuğunu hissedeceksiniz. Yani süt kesilecek. O zaman söndürün. Elek veya süzgeç yardımıyla süzün. Peynir topaklarını tülbente alın. Sıkarak veya kaşığın tersiyle bastırarak fazla suyunu süzün. Tülbentin ağzını da iple sıkıca bağlayın. Ben bunu geceden yapıp peynir oda sıcaklığına gelince kapaklı bir kaba koyup buzdolabına kaldırıyor ve bu şekilde sabaha kadar bekletiyorum. Sabah tülbenti açınca, fazla suyunu geceden süzdürdüğüm için hiç su bırakmamış ve top şeklinde kalıplaşmış oluyor. Görüntüsü aynı mozzarella gibi oluyor. Bu şekilde dilim dilim de servis edebilirsiniz. Ya da parçalayıp ufalayarak lor peyniri gibi de tüketebilirsiniz. Ama 2 gün içinde tüketin. Bitince tekrar yapın.

thenewhealthy Salmon Köfte (Somonlu Köfte). What’s everyone cooking today? I’ve just taken out some salmon fillets from the freezer, so this is happening tonight. My salmon Köfte are basically prepared and cooked in the same way as traditional Kıbrıs (Cypriot) Patates Köftesi (Potato Köfte) but instead of using beef mince, I use cooked and flaked salmon fillets, and you can fry or bake them, method on most recent highlights.

INGREDIENTS 
4 salmon fillets 
500g white potatoes, finely grated 
1 large onion, very finely chopped or coarsely grated 
1 stale white bread roll whizzed up into breadcrumbs in food processor
2 heaped tbsp finely chopped parsley
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper 
500ml sunflower or rapeseed oil if you are frying OR rapeseed oil spray if you are baking

METHOD
Preheat oven to 180C. Prepare all ingredients as above, squeeze out ALL excess water from grated potatoes before adding to a large mixing bowl. Add all the other ingredients apart from eggs and salmon to the bowl. Season salmon fillets with a pinch of salt, pepper and bake for 10-12 mins. Take out, allow to cool and flake apart with a fork. Add salmon to bowl, mix well, then add eggs and bind everything together with your hands. Form into 32 Köfte (wet hands with a little cold water if mixture sticks too much). If you’re frying the köfte, add oil to a large deep frying pan on a high heat. Chuck in a little piece of the mixture into the pan once it has been heating up for 3-4 mins and if it starts to sizzle and bubble the the oil is ready for you to very carefully köfte (you’ll need to cook the köfte in 2-3 batches). You should have enough oil in the pan so that the Köfte are covered but they will still need turning over halfway through (they’ll need about 8-10 mins cooking time). Allow to cool a little before serving. If baking, don’t turn oven off from earlier, lay köfte on 2 baking sheets lined with baking paper and spray with a little rapeseed oil, then spray köfte a little and bake for 25-30 mins on middle shelf, turning once or twice.

💚 "Oh, I just get that normal bloating...." Excuse me, bloating may have become the 'norm' for you - however, it is not normal. I used to experience bloating previously too, but let me tell you how much more pleasant life is when your stomach is actually happy! So why do we bloat? thenewhealthy Do you remember banana oat pancakes? I think it all started with those. I mean there is no health food blogger or a person that loves to eat healthy that haven’t tried those.  Ahh... good old SIMPLE times... i got a bit nostalgic but I needed something slightly different and also I don’t have ANYTHING in my pantry right now so that’s how those waffles were born. And they are amazing. And I am really proud of myself that I got the recipe right on the first try. 
Banana oat waffles:
• 1 cup oats
• 2 medium sized bananas
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp baking powder • optional: cinnamon, vanilla and salt
In a blender add all ingredients and pulse until everything is combined. Let the butter sit for 10-15 minutes. Heat waffle maker and add some coconut oil to prevent sticking. Add about 1/2 cup of the mixture and cook for about 5-6 min. (Depending on your waffle maker). You can easily freeze those. Wait to cool down completely, store in separate zip locks and that’s it. Heat them in a pan before eating and they are as good as freshly made.

Вафли од овес и банана:
• 90 gr. овесни снегулки (јас ги користам на @polleosport.mk )
• 2 банани во средна големина
• 2 јајца
• по желба: цимет,ванила и малку сол
Во блендер се блендираат сите состојки. Смесата се остава 15тина до 20 мин да стои и да се згусне малце. Се загрева апаратот за вафли и се додава малку масло (за да не се лепи). Кога убаво ќе се загрее се додава од смесата и се пече околу 5-6 минути во зависност од апратот. Може и да се замрзнат. Се печат, се оставаат да се оладат скроз, се ставаат секоја посебно во кесички за замрзнување и пред употреба само се топлат или во рерна или во тавче на малку кокосово масло.

Do you remember banana oat pancakes? I think it all started with those. I mean there is no health food blogger or a person that loves to eat healthy that haven’t tried those. Ahh... good old SIMPLE times... i got a bit nostalgic but I needed something slightly different and also I don’t have ANYTHING in my pantry right now so that’s how those waffles were born. And they are amazing. And I am really proud of myself that I got the recipe right on the first try. Banana oat waffles: • 1 cup oats • 2 medium sized bananas • 2 eggs • 1 tsp baking powder • optional: cinnamon, vanilla and salt In a blender add all ingredients and pulse until everything is combined. Let the butter sit for 10-15 minutes. Heat waffle maker and add some coconut oil to prevent sticking. Add about 1/2 cup of the mixture and cook for about 5-6 min. (Depending on your waffle maker). You can easily freeze those. Wait to cool down completely, store in separate zip locks and that’s it. Also, wanted to point out the other day I hit 2 years since I started my blog (even though I only started taking it seriously much later than that) I have a blog post coming soon with everything I’ve learned along the way. Two years ago I would have never had a cheesy pasta recipe on my site. It was as clean and low-carb as could be. I’m really happy with what my recipes have transformed into.. I know the word balance has been over used these days but for me it’s important. Just like my recipes, I’ve never felt more balance and food freedom in my life that I feel now. And I really think having this page and community helped me mold that mindset☺️

Ingredients:
- Leek (1)
- Shiitake mushrooms (400 g)
- Cream (3/4 cup)
- Onion (1)
- Arborio rice (1 1/2 cup)
- Dry white wine (1/2 cup)
- Vegetable broth (5 cups)
- Grated parmesan cheese (1/2 cup)
- Truffle oil (2 tbsp)
- Parsley
- Black truffle (optional)

Cooking process:
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook thinly sliced leek and shiitake mushrooms for 7 minutes. Add cream and cook for another 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
2. In a different skillet cook sliced onion for 5-7 minutes, or until softened.
3. Add rice and stir for a minute.
4. Add wine and stir for a minute, until almost all liquid is absorbed.
5. Add 1 cup hot broth. Simmer until broth is almost absorbed, about 3-4 minutes.
6. Add more broth (1 cup at a time), allowing each additional cup to be absorbed before adding next.
7. Stir in leek and mushrooms mixture, then add parmesan cheese and truffle oil. Mix well.
8. Serve with chopped fresh parsley and black truffle (if desired). Bon Appétit 🙌🏼

2️⃣Remember this – Nuts + Dried fruit + Powders + Natural Sweeteners + Toppings = you own energy balls.
3️⃣Nuts and seeds can be expensive when buying in small packs, so again, go to a wholesaler or look online for the best price. Store in an airtight jar and use for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I like to get mine from Holland and Barrett’s.

1. [Optional but worth doing] Soak apricots in Armagnac or orange juice for 4hours to plump them up. If you are in a hurry, just put all ingredients in a blender and blitz!
2. Scoop out the mixture and roll into smooth balls. Melt chocolate in a basin over saucepan hot water, dip each ball in decorating with your nut choice. Pop in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour and they will be ready to enjoy!

👉Take a pan and add sprouted green grams
👉sauté for 4-5mins on medium flame

👉Now add sautéd green grams on top of tortilla chips
👉Next, step by step top with chopped onions,chopped tomatoes,mayonnaise and grated cheese
👉Bake in preheated oven for 5-7mins and serve hot

In order to cook the soup you will need to get a Chinese herbal soup mix and boil together with all the ingredients. I prefer to make the soup more flavorful by adding star anise, black pepper, white pepper and drizzle some Chinese sesame oil.

Ingredients:
Ginger, fried tofu, Japanese pressed tofu, baby eryngii mushroom, carrots, bok choy , goji berries and red dates.

Possible health benefits of GINGER includes relieving nausea, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, relieving cold & flu and more.

Here are some description for each herbs:
🔸️Goji Berries (Gou Qi) 枸杞 – benefit the liver, which manifests in improving eyesight.
🔸️Red Dates (Hong Zao) 红枣 – calm the central nervous system, protect the liver, inhibit cell mutation and improve strength of muscles.

thenewhealthy 🌿Spicy Thai Style Baby French Beans Stir-fry🥢
10-min sauteéd french beans / green beans with bell pepper. This green bean recipe is perfect as a side dish and so healthy, easy and quick.

Servings: 2
Ingredients🧂🛒:
8 oz green beans
1 tbsp coconut oil or any vegetable oil
2 tsp thai red chilli mushroom paste
2 slices of ginger, julienned 
2 tbsp soy sauce
Half tsp chilli flakes 
Quarter of red bell pepper, sliced
Salt to taste

Cut off the top and bottom points of the green beans, rinse and set aside.

In a pan, add the oil, sauté the ginger until fragrant. Add the green beans, bell pepper and chilli flakes, keep stirring for a min, follow by adding salt, thai chili paste, soy sauce and water, mix well and stir until they are cooked. Transfer out to a serving plate and serve a bowl of basmati rice 😋🍚. Enjoy!
