This is something I learned to do once I realized that my mind can play tricks on me. You do know that not every thought that comes to your mind is legitimate, right? It’s important to be sure that you know the truth before you make important moves. Thoughts become words and words become actions so if you’re speaking and doing based on #fakenews, you’re going to create a lot of unnecessary problems for yourself and possibly others. So, if you can’t prove that negative thought true, don’t make a move until you can. Give yourself a few minutes to reflect on what you know for sure. You might find that your current perception of yourself or the situation are skewed based on past negative experiences. Part of #swslaunch in 26 days is my new empowerment coaching program! You’ll get to talk one-on-one with me about topics like this and get help to overcome challenges that are keeping you from becoming your best self and reaching your big goals. Stay ready! Limited slots will be available once enrollment opens.
The best way to spread positivity is to speak positive things out loud. When you speak positively, you are welcoming more great things into your life. I try to be more aware each day of the things I say. It’s so easy to get caught up in talking with others about the stresses of life... I don’t think many of us realize we are even doing it; I know I didn’t.
What you talk about you bring about so let’s change it up! •
Let’s do this together! Share some good news with me! It can be anything you want. I’ll go first... Last night I finished everything on my recording to-do list early so I snuggled up on the couch with my pups and watched some @kevinhart4real and @amyschumer stand-up. I laughed so hard that my cheeks hurt! 😆
YOUR TURN ⬇️
Hold your thoughts captive – Negative thoughts stemming from fear are not of God. Cast them down immediately before they grow, fester and before you know it, you are believing them to be truths. Trust me, as someone who has struggled with negative thoughts my entire life, I am finally at a point where I can recognize them, but it took work to get here. When you live in a negative bubble, its hard to see your thoughts as negative… they are just your thoughts. Put in the work to change your thought life, He wants so much more for you.

Listen to any podcast, interview or tune into chats with your own friends and you'll hear how often people are talking and then trail off at the end of their sentence and tag on "if that makes sense.”
Mostly, it's an unconscious behavior similar to saying "like" and "actually.”
These words and phrases, on a psyche level, are actually quite detrimental to how we feel about what we are saying.
We are, quite literally, voicing outwardly that our inner world may not make sense.
Another way to look at it is like someone making fun of themselves as a way to "beat others to the punch line" so that nobody else can do it first.
It's mostly unconscious, except our body doesn't know the difference. It still begins to embody the belief that what we're saying may not make sense.
...and that we cannot communicate clearly and powerfully.
But, my love, you do.
Had a modeling audition yesterday for a really big job, and I hope I get it! After I finished, the photographer gave me a high five and I thought it was because I did SO well! I thought, “YES!!!!!” ... then I realized he was giving high fives to everyone. 🤦🏻♀️😂🤗 p.s. — i’m figuring out my “workout” style and i’m DEFF a group class type of girl. Anyone else?? Lol
MIND THE WORDS YOU SAY TO PEOPLE
When you tell a short person that he is short, it's actually unnecessary, it's an obvious truth. He probably has issues dealing with that thing he has zero control over. Growing up, people said I did not eat enough beans that's why i am down to earth (PS. I am not short). I have been in different counselling sessions with Teenagers since last weekend that the conference began, and I have seen a lot of them burn in anger, they feel less of themselves due to negative words they had piled up within them.
Do not say negative things to children and teenagers, those are their formative years and they draw perception of themselves from words and circumstances around them. They count on that "you are beautiful" to really believe that they are beautiful. Do not destroy a child with the words of your mouth, teach a child to be positive around their friends, at the end of the day, we all need positive people in the world.
There are times in our lives when our circumstances overwhelm us causing us to lose sight of our dreams. We focus so much on our problems that we forget that God is in control and He is the Greatest Miracle Worker.
Trust God with your life and speak life into every dead situation.
I’ve a lover...not a fighter! I love hard even if I’ve been wronged or hurt 🤷🏾♀️ it’s just how I was created and I’ve always been that way. I just LOVE to LOVE! I find myself trying to hold back some bc I know there are those that aren’t used to genuinely being loved and cared for by someone. -
Today, know that if you aren’t appreciated and/or loved by someone...you’re loved by ME! It doesn’t matter if I know you or not, I appreciate all walks of life. I’m intrigued by all cultures, nationalities, races, etc. I just LOVE people!! 🤗🤗🧡
Double tap if you agree!

Good 👏🏾 vibes 👏🏾 ONLY!
Keep it cute or put it on mute! 🤫
▪︎Do you speak negatively or nonchalant (what you can’t do, what you won’t have, or something is hard for you) about your present and/or your future… the house, the car, the wealth, the family, the career, your education, ministry…?
▪︎Do you call your kids names… from lazy to stupid?
▪︎Do you speak negatively about your spouse?
▪︎Do you complain about your job and the people in charge… they do not understand, they treat you bad…?
▪︎Do you speak against your church and the people that belong there… they can’t do this, don’t know why they are in charge…?
▪︎ Do you speak against yourself… (a thought process that you have been trained to do or have. Or, you have accepted this idea from other people)?
▪︎Do you speak constantly against this world and the rulers?
Our scripture in Proverbs 18 says there is life and death in your tongue. In Proverbs 17:27a it says “He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words.” Then the Bible teaches us, in Galatians 6, that what you sow you will reap. Concerning that negativity:
1. TAKE ALL NEGATIVITY/PROBLEMS IN PRAYER TO GOD and LEAVE THEM THERE. HE WILL WORK ON YOUR BEHALF AND ADVISE YOU WHAT TO DO. °Psalm 55:22 (AMP) - Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail). 2. YOU SPEAK LIFE AND SPEAK THINGS VICTORIOUSLY INTO EXISTENCE JUST LIKE OUR LORD.
°Romans 4:17b (AMPC) - Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.
Reflect today on the type of harvest you want by the type of word seeds you plant.
DO NOT ALLOW THE CONVERSATIONS YOU SOW DENY OR DELAY GOD’S SUDDENLY IN YOUR LIFE.
Head band and sun glasses??
Or does it even matter?
I say all the time “whatever puts a smile on your face”
If you enjoy something (even if I tell you it’s stupid 😂) you should probably do it and rock it
I wear a headband because it holds my glasses while I workout
I wore these sun glasses because it was bright outside and Frosty let me borrow them
Be confident in whatever you do
Talking about it here is the best way to remind myself of these lessons

“An Introduction to the Psychology of Injury and Rehabilitation” 1993
The world of Pilates was opened up to me through injury. Just over 25 years later and reading this paper, written in my final year of full time dance study, induces a retrospective smile...and not just for the font 🤣. It was written opportunistically to fulfill a theory criteria in my final year of full time dance study... if I couldn’t jeté or stag across the room then why not use the time and experience to provoke some change about injury within the dance school tradition.
Back then there were few options for injured dancers seeking counsel or guidance. And there was only one studio in Melbourne providing Pilates to dancers and the general public outside of the Australian Ballet Company buildings.
When I wrote it I was practising Clinical Pilates each day in lieu of attending dance classes, attempting to rehabilitate and learning huge lessons from the experience of failure, repeated injuries and surgeries.
Although quite simplistic, so much of it still holds true. The high importance of addressing the whole person, not just the injury, the imperative need for brain body connection to facilitate full and whole recovery, the importance of positive speak from influential professionals and the need for time and space to uncover, witness and correct potential self-sabotaging behaviours.
Also....how injury, treated with a growth mindset can lead you towards a better version of yourself!
Sometime after graduating, I understood how this moment of adversity had ignited positive change and growth. Overtime as the positive outcomes overtook the intensity of the negatives ones, it was much easier to reframe the experience in a positive light.
Over the years Pilates has provided me with a platform for consistency. All of these things now flavour my own teaching.
Did I go on to dance professionally? Yes, for almost a decade - injury free.
I do believe Pilates is such an amazing conduit for mind body connection. Not only for rehabbing from injury, for overall well being, and across this spectrum, when taught with the whole person in mind, it is transformational.

"Colours change: in the morning light, red shines out bright and clear and the blues merge into their surroundings, melting into the greens; but by the evening the reds loose their piquancy, embracing a quieter tone and shifting toward the blues in the rainbow. Yellow flowers remain bright, and white ones become luminous, shining like ghostly figures against a darkening green background."
