The view from Artist Point during winter times will always be my favorite of Mt. Baker. A lot of times I feel compelled that I need to put in some sort of physical effort in order to make a photo worth it, whether it be climbing up a steep mountain or snowshoeing it to get to the location or camping under some harsh weather conditions. I've been feeling less motivated to photograph places that are "easy" to access. Although the photographs may be just as beautiful but I always feel more deeply connected to the ones that require more efforts.

Happy #internationalmountainday, where we celebrate local indigenous cultures and sustainability in the mountains, taking care of our wild places and mountains for generations to come.
devotion | Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭
Two separate Chiang Mai night markets led me to encounters with this same street vendor offering delicious takeaway produce. The attention to detail and pride he exemplified in his mobile business was inspiring to witness. Hunched over in a mobile cart that would benefit from just a few more feet of clearance, one could recognize it was a finely tuned system that kept both locals and visitors happy. Overseeing it all, a photograph mounted just to his left that likely reminded him why he is motivated to put in such dedicated effort each day. Comment if you keep visual reminders around of that destination you are working to visit, or those people that keep pushing to be a little better version of yourself each day.
