Seek out experiences that humble you. Ones that shake your core and make you question what you once knew. Seek out the feeling of realizing just how large, magnificent, and diverse Mother Earth truly is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Africa, you taught me more than I ever could have imagined in these few short weeks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Many posts to come...
Chopping this one for X’mas tree with my imaginary axe...hehehe 🤣

Shout out to the men & women, boys & girls of Fehendhoo who took part in 🇲🇻 "Clean Fehendhoo; My Fehendhoo" 🇲🇻
Waste management, especially plastics, is a huge problem on every island in Maldives & whilst resorts employ staff to clean their beaches before sunrise, on local islands it's up to the residents to manage the rubbish, a portion of it washed ashore, so initiatives like this are of huge importance in community life.
In total, 140 bags of rubbish, mainly plastic bottles were collected in just over 60 minutes on an island that is only 2.160km x 0.220km
(total area 0.206km2) 👏🏼

Such a typical Maldevian picture! Wheelbarrows are absolutely a much more popular mode of transport than vehicles, believe it or not.
This photo was taken in Gulhi which at the time was only my 3rd local island visit. Today, after visiting 20 Islands, I can say it remains my favourite for pretty colourful buildings & boats to photograph.
Hope I get to return one day.

Water activities in Maldives - because let's face it, why wouldn't you when the water is constantly a warm 28° - 30°crystal clear, and best of all - safe from predators but abundant with amazing sea life.
Kayak or jet ski, kite surf/wind surf, paddle board, or snorkel - dive and you're bound to see a turtle or few for sure, even likely to see stingray whichever Atoll you're lucky enough to be in. In general, manta rays can be spotted on the western side of the Maldive atolls from November until April or May to October on the eastern side of the atolls, due to the plankton concentration. You can also plan your excursions to see whale sharks • nurse sharks • tiger sharks on any given day, not forgetting the usual daily sighting of dolphins swimming by your island!
Most islands; resorts or local have a dive centre who can best advise you on what adventure you should expect.

Thank you for choosing @whitelagoonmaldives for your stay. It was a pleasure to host you all 😘

Miss getting up close to these guys. Living on a local island again I don't get to see the @transmaldivian seaplanes anymore. So sad. This was hands down my favourite part of my job doing the arrivals & departures of guests.
One day I'll get aboard one of these and tick off that bucket list dream! Watch this space ...
