quicksnacks Green Gram Paniyaram

Prep time: 8 hours
Cook time: 30 minutes
Number of Servings: 4 persons

Ingredients

Green Gram - 1 Cup
urad Dal - 1/2 Cup
Onion - 1 No
Green Chili - 1 No
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
Ginger - 1 Piece
Curry Leaves
Oil
Water
Salt

Method:
1. Soak the green gram overnight and grind it finely
2. Soak the urad dal for 2 hours and grind it into a fine paste
3. Now mix both the batters to get an even mixture
4. Add salt and mix it and leave the batter to ferment for about 3 hours
5. Heat a pan with oil and add mustard seeds, finely chopped onions, green chilies, finely chopped ginger, and curry leaves
6. Saute the onions till they are transparent and add it to the batter
7. Mix the paniyaram batter
8. Heat the paniyaram skillet and pour some oil into each mould to prevent sticking
9. Now pour the batter into each mould half way
10.Now the paniyaram turns golden brown on one side, flip it to the other side to evenly cook the paniyarams.
11.Take them out once they turn golden brown on both sides.
Paniyarams taste best when hot. This can be served with any chutney or sambar.

Ingredients:

Onion - 4 nos thinly sliced
Green chili - 3 nos finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 1 Tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp
Chili powder - 2 Tsp
Coriander powder - 1 Tsp
Cumin powder - 1 Tsp
Salt to taste
Besan/Gram flour - 1 1/2 cups
Little Water
Oil for deep frying

Preparation:
1. Empty the thinly sliced onions into a huge mixing bowl. 
2. Now, add finely chopped green chilies, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, and besan (gram flour). Make sure the besan coats the onions well. 
3. Mix all the ingredients together using your hands. 
4. Add a little water, just enough so you have a binding consistency.

Method:
1. Take a huge pan and pour enough oil into it. 
2. Heat the oil until bubbles start to form. 
3. Now, take a little mixture at a time and gently drop it into the oil. 
4. Deep fry it until it is a crisp golden brown color. 
5. Now, carefully remove the pakora’s from the pan, draining all the oil.

Banana Peppers
Mozzarella Cheese - 200 gms
Corn Flour - 1/2 cup
All Purpose Flour/Maida - 1 cup
Italian Seasoning - 1 tsp
Paprika/chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper
Salt
Water

Method:
1. Cut the cheese into long cylindrical shapes. 
2. Make slits onto the chilis and stuff them with cheese. 
3. To make the batter, mix corn flour,  plain flour, salt, paprika, italian seasoning and pepper.
4. Add water and mix it to a batter-like consistency.
5. Dip the cheese stuffed chilies in the batter. 
6. And roll them in breadcrumbs. 
7. Fry them till they are golden brown in color.
8. Serve them hot with ketchup.

Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
A Pinch Of Asafoetida Powder 
Onion - 1 No. Finely Chopped
Green Chili - 2 Nos Finely Chopped
Chopped Ginger
Few Curry Leaves 
Carrot - 1 No. Chopped
French Beans 
Salt - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Chili Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Boiled Potatoes - 5 Nos 
Boiled Green Peas - 1/2 Cup
Juice Of 1/2 Lemon 
Coriander Leaves

To Make Batter 
Besan Flour - 1/2 Cup
Rice Flour - 1 1/2 Tbsp
Salt - 1/4 Tsp
Chili Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Water 
Oil For Deep Frying 
Method:
1. Boil the potatoes and peel them and cut them 
2. Boil some peas and keep it aside 
3. Heat a pan with some oil 
4. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida powder and roast them 
5. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add the onions, green chilies, curry leaves and ginger and saute them 
6. Add carrots, beans, salt and add some water and cook them 
7. Once the vegetables are cooked, add turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix well 
8. Add boiled potatoes, and boiled peas and mix it 
9. Add coriander leaves and lemon juice and turn off the stove and let the filling come to room temperature
10. Take a bowl, add the gram flour, rice flour, salt, red chili powder and add water and mix well 
11. Make a thick batter 
12. Meanwhile, heat some oil for deep frying
13. Make small balls of the filling, dip the filling into the batter 
14. Now drop the batter coated filling into the hot oil 
15. Fry the bondas till they are golden brown on all sides and cooked on the inside 
16. Serve the Vegetable Bondas hot with some chutney.

4. Add finely chopped beans and carrots and  Curry leaves and coriander leaves.
5. Saute it till they become soft.
6. Season it with some salt and mix it well. Turn off the stove and keep this aside.
7. Take some appam or dosa batter in a bowl and add the cooked mixed vegetable mixture into it.
8. Heat the paniyaram skillet and pour some oil into the moulds.
9. After the paniyaram skillet is heated, add the paniyaram batter into the moulds.
10. Cook it evenly on both sides till you get a golden brown color on the outside.
11. Vegetable paniyaram is ready to be served hot with some chutney or sambar.

I know, I do! This loaded toast ^ is one of my athletes’ favorite combinations. The 3:1 ratio of carbohydrates to protein loaded in this snack is perfect to help you recover after a hard workout or munch on as a morning snack in between summer classes.

A lot of athletes are hesitant to try cottage cheese but I guarantee you will be surprised how much you enjoy this protein packed combination! If cottage cheese isn’t for you, pick one from each line below to build a yummy snack like this one!

1 piece of whole wheat bread
Protein: ½ cup Greek yogurt, ½ cup cottage cheese, 1-2 egg white
Healthy fats: ½ avocado, 2 tbsp nut butter, 1-2 egg yolk
Flavor Toppings - cinnamon, chia seeds, flax seeds, salt + pepper, trader joes EBTB (everything but the bagel) seasoning, granola

Bang Bang Zucchini Noodles

Ingredients .
- 4 medium zucchini - 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp fat free plain Greek yogurt - 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp light mayonnaise - 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 tsp sriracha sauce - 2 tsp lime juice

1. If you are using any proteins, cook them first on the stove and then set aside (I would personally make with chicken but shrimp or another protein would be good as well!). Use a spiralizer to make zucchini into “noodles.” Add olive oil to a large skillet and bring to medium heat. Once oil is hot, add zucchini noodles. Cook until water is released and zucchini is just cooked (tender but still crisp). Turn off heat. Drain zucchini and allow to rest 10 minutes. Drain again.
2. In a large bowl, combine all remaining ingredients. Whisk together until smooth. Divide into 4 small containers. Add zucchini noodles and proteins once cool, and divide into 4 containers.
3. When ready to eat, heat up the zucchini noodles and drain any excess water, then toss with sauce. Enjoy!! .

quicksnacks I wanted to jazz up the cassava crackers I shared a few posts back, I thought they needed something else.

So I took the original recipe, added a little extra onion and garlic powder and then added in two tbsp of whole flax seeds and 2 tbsp of sesame seeds.
I didn’t think it’d make a big difference but I think these are better.
The simple recipe is really good still but if you want something a little different give these a go.

LASAGNA ROLLS!!
Macros per roll: P:24g, C:17g, F:10g
Ingredients:
•2 packs extra lean ground beef
•1 pack lasagna noodles
•2 jars tomato sauce
•1 small can tomato paste
• 2 TBS olive oil
•3/4 C chopped carrots
•3/4 C chopped celery
•1/2 C chopped onion
•3-5 cloves of garlic (depending on preference)
•2C mozza (or marble) cheese
•Spices- Garlic powder, italiano, chili flakes, basil

Instructions:
1️⃣ Chop your carrots, onions, celery, and garlic. Sautée with 2 TBS olive oil in large pan
2️⃣ When onions become transparent, add your ground beef. Cook until browned
3️⃣ While your veggies & beef are cooking, boil a large pot of water to cook your lasagna noodles (according to package instructions). When they are done, lay them out so they don’t stick together
4️⃣ Add 1 jar of tomato sauce to your beef/veg mixture. You want all of the meat nicely coated but not too much excess sauce
5️⃣ Season with garlic powder, italiano spice, chili flakes, salt, & pepper
6️⃣ Cover the bottom of a 9x13” pan with tomato sauce
7️⃣ At the end of each noodle, load up about 1/3 C (2.5 oz) of the tomato/turkey mixture, and a pinch (15g) of cheese
8️⃣ Holding the edges of the noodle, roll it up until it comes in a full circle. Rip off excess noodle if desired
9️⃣ Place standing up in pan, take this opportunity to fill it with extra meat/ meat that fell out during the roll
🔟 Once all rolls are standing together, cover in more tomato sauce and cheese. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, broil on high for 5-10 for extra crunch

Check it out! I finally found an old box of @fiberone Chewy Protein Bars and a #new one to do a full comparison. Swipe to see the labels but the branding is WAY different and they even tweaked the nutrients! I think we could call this a full relaunch and not just a redesign, right? quicksnacks 💚 Super Easy Oat Cookies💚 this is my secret nutrient dense snack! 
They are literally the staple snack in our house, our toddler devours them! And he has been since he was 7 months old, after a month of #blw 
Lots of requests for this recipe after my insta story yesterday, here it is (and I promise they take 3 minutes to get in the oven:
💚Ingredients for base:
⭐️ 1/2 mashed banana ⭐️ 1/2 cup rolled oats ⭐️ 1/2 cup almond milk (or alternative)
⭐️ 1 tsp cinnamon 💚Extras - now go crazy and add whatever you like! What does your little (or big!) one need? ⭐️ Maca powder - immune booster (this superfood is amazing when you can’t get the greens in!)
⭐️ Camu powder - vitamin C boost
⭐️ Flax seeds - to help with digestion and ease constipation
⭐️ Raisins - again with digestion and to make a touch sweeter
⭐️ Coconut - for some healthy fats
⭐️ Goji berries - antioxidants boost! (Up to x4 the amount in blueberries!) Mix it all in a bowl and dollop into a shallow muffin tray - bake at 170 degrees in a fan over for 15 minutes, job done! Store in a fridge for up to 3/4 days 💚 #healthysnacks #oats #momlife
