After two decades of planning, a slag peninsula from the former Asarco smelter has finally been transformed into an 11-acre park on Tacoma's Point Defiance waterfront. Dune Peninsula and the Frank Herbert Trail officially opened last Saturday with a community celebration. This week we'll be highlighting different aspects of the park with a series of posts -- from prairie to play, art to infrastructure. And thanks to @metroparkstacoma for the opportunity to collaborate on this iconic park!

#Didyouknow that one can find over 3.000 rose bushes at the picturesque Volksgarten? More than 200 different rose varieties can be seen here. It does not just look beautiful, it also smells great. Have you already visited this garden located near Ring Boulevard? 🌹🌷💐 by @the_enchantedrose#ViennaNow

Located at a prominent junction of Singapore's iconic Orchard Road, Design Orchard aims to nurture emerging Singaporean creative talent. The mixed-use building integrates a retail showcase with an incubation space. It was conceived to combine all stages of design from concept to production and from showcase to retail. The terraced three-storey building slopes down to the junction of Orchard Road and Cairnhill Road, its angle giving it high visibility to and from the ground level. 100% of the site area is given back to the city as a publicly-accessible rooftop amphitheatre surrounded by lush gardens.

Up bright, early, and sleepy this morning (the butterflies in my stomach made me toss and turn all night) as I’m finally heading to Canada 🇨🇦! I am *finally* stepping out of the country for the first time since arriving back to America in February and let’s just say... I’ve been counting down the days. While I’ve learned that staying rooted and exploring your own backyard is just as much traveling as hopping to a different continent... there’s just something about showing up on foreign soil that gives me butterflies! This will be a different type of trip for me, normally I prefer the ease of solo travel, but this week I’ll be with my family celebrating my moms birthday! My job for the trip was to plan out the entire week itinerary. I nervously sent it out last week (I say nervously because we have a LOT of opinions in my family) and it went over great! Only complaint was found in the small print “MUST get up at 4am to get to lakes before others arrive” (repeated three times 😁). The funny thing is.... they think I’m joking. • Canada... coming for ya! What do you guys want to see and learn?!
Hi there. It seems I forgot that you can also post to insta and not just to the stories. lol. It’s been kinda a whirlwind lately, but here’s a favorite spot of mine in the neighborhood. Hopefully you find yourself in a shaded area this weekend. 🖤🌡 (it’s hot af out there).
My writing does not suffer like other things in my life. I have fourteen posts to do. No big deal. I've been behind before. Make no mistake, it's been the definition of my life. Though the last few days have given me reason to stay on top of everything, not merely for control, but just to be present. To be active and present and understanding, supportive and reliable, being here is the only thing that matters.
Realizing what's more important to oneself has never been more clear for me. It might be the yoga, it might be the juice fast (5/45 days in.) Stay tuned.
Until then #seeyoutomorrow#lostinfranslation
