Polski Fiat 126p Cabrio (2+2a-2h) … Italian/Polish charmeur 💚😁💚
(1975, Polski Fiat 126p Cabrio ... The short story – extracts: The Polski Fiat 126p was a charming city car, produced under license agreement between Fiat Auto Poland/FSM (Fabryka Samochodów Małolitrażowych) and Italian company Fiat. Despite its small size, it was used as a family car, as virtually no other cars were available on the country’s market during the communist period.
Actually, the Fiat 126p was a more popular car than the original model it was based on: the Fiat 126.
Between 1973 and 2000, FSM and Fiat Auto Poland assembled 3,318,674 examples of the car, while Fiat produced 1,352,912 vehicles in Italy from 1972 to 1980.
The 126p was equipped with a straight-twin petrol engine in three different displacements – 594 cc, 652 cc, and 704 cc. The first two had 23 hp, while the biggest one generated 26 hp.
Over the years, the mini car received many technical improvements, including upgraded brakes, hazard blinkers, tail fog and reverse lights, an electronic ignition system, and others.
In many aspects in life, “the bigger, the better” phrase has more meaning than ever, but back then the situation was completely different ... and the 3.05 meters long 126p proved, that the size didn’t matter 😅
Speaking of sizes, it was called “Maluch” (“the small one”) by drivers and this nickname was so popular that in 1997 it was accepted by the car maker as an “official” name for the car.
How simple a car can be? Well, you need nothing more than a steering wheel, a handbrake, four seats, and a speedometer. That was, more or less, what the 126p was giving customers and they were pretty happy with that, as it was very affordable and easy to maintain ... KISS 😉
Production of the 126p ended on 22 September 2000 after a remarkable run of more than 3.3 million units. The “swan song” of the charming tiny car was the “Happy End” series that included 500 yellow and 500 red cars with plastic bumpers, new dashboard, and a water-cooled engine, all part of major facelifts from 1987 and 1994.
PS: The original two-cylinder engine of the car was air-cooled. Super (air)cool 🤘)

I rolled the Saab body out into the sun this morning to warm up the rubber windscreen and rear window seals. The glass guy is coming this afternoon to help remove the glass and we DO NOT want to break either window. Replacement rubber seals are available so we can cut the old gaskets if needed. New windscreens can be had, but like everything on this car, they’re not cheap (210 quid) and must come from Europe. I’ve never seen a source for a rear window. Perhaps I should render up an offering to the old Norse gods of Trollhättan to request a favourable outcome. There’s a local skunk I’d be pleased to sacrifice. #saab#saabv4 #saab96 #1968saab#swedishcar#norsegods#autoglass#carrestoration#autorestoration#petrolhead#garagebuilt#garagebuild#praiseodin

I’m going to be honest - I didn’t expect much in terms of performance from the new Acura RDX but boy was I wrong. This thing totally surprised me and actually left me smiling when I thought back to how the last-generation Acura RDX was. I’ll get more into the driving characteristics and dynamics of the RDX tomorrow but for today, let’s see where it stacks up in my 3P Comparison.

The bodywork modifications mainly concerned the aerodynamic profiles, both lateral and the bumpers. From the rear door the plastic fascia between the lights was removed to make room for a new number plate holder. A new multi-function steering wheel with 4 spokes, a new SID with digital clock, has been adopted for the interior. The remainder focused on improvements to electronics and mechanics, including the front and hydraulic clutch.
