In other news, the PTCA’s open soon, so I’ve been getting all my info put in over the last week so I can stay ahead of the game as much as possible. It’s kind of crazy to think that 2 years ago I made the decision to change my career path, and now I’m applying to DPT programs in a month. 😟⁣
⁣
I’m generally a pretty confident person, but I always have that voice in the back of my head says “What if it doesn’t work out?” I get scared that all of my hard work will flop, that I won’t get accepted, and plenty of other things! I’m sure a lot of people out there can relate.⁣
⁣
But regardless, we’re doing the damn thing y’all. Avoiding something just because you are afraid you will fail, is a great way to deny yourself the possibility of life changing opportunities. ⁣
⁣
Afterall… “What if it DOES work out?” :) ⁣
⁣

Mina pass är sjukt tunga just nu, jag tränar två-vilar en. Men helt ärligt så efter ex benpassen så känner jag att jag inte har någon energi kvar alls och därför kan det bli en extra vilodag då.

Jag har lärt mig den hårda vägen, jag har varit dumdristig. Åkt på den ena och den andra skadan, men helt ärligt -Är det bäst att träna så hårt så kroppen behöver vila eller ska man dra ner på volymen och kunna träna oftare? Smaksak. 
Jag vill träna så hårt jag kan utan att gå sönder, dvs lite volym men tunga jävla set.

With online coaching and virtually working with clients, we can easily slip into a place in which we are very reactive and only give critiques when needed.

But something that gets overlooked is simply telling them that they’re doing a great job.
|
|
It’s honestly one of the most asked questions I’ve ever received in my time of working with clients and Transphormers.
|
|
It’s not questions about nutrition, about training, about sleep, supplements, or anything in between.
|
|
It was simply “Am I doing a good job?”
|
|
And it honestly hurt to see that question. Because that tells me that I wasn’t giving enough encouragement and and letting them know that they were crushing it.
|
|
So just a friendly reminder — even if it’s not their check in/assessment day, it means the world to them if you simply gas them up and let them know that they’re doing a great job and that you’re proud of what they’ve accomplished.

Hoe vaak ik wel niet meiden keihard zie trainen in de sportschool en die allemaal vreemde (en vaak nutteloze) oefeningen doen. Maar die zich dan vervolgens na een half jaar keihard werken wel afvragen waarom ze nog geen resultaat hebben🤷🏾‍♀️... ⁠⠀

Donkey kicks zonder gewicht zorgen er misschien voor dat je het een beetje voelt branden & zouden wellicht goed kunnen zijn voor oudere vrouwen die al jaren niet getraind hebben. Maar de #influencers & #fitspo’s (met vaak dat felbegeerde lichaam)  die deze shit plaatsen, hebben ook gewoon zware compound oefeningen moeten doen om dat figuur te krijgen (of plastische chirurgie😉). Dat ga je écht niet bereiken door achteruit tegen de lucht te trappen als je op de stairmaster staat.. ⁠⠀

Deze post worden niet geplaatst met jouw belang in hun achterhoofd.. Nee ze worden geplaats met de vraag ‘wat gaat mij de meeste likes/comments/volgers/views opleveren?' Het is leuk voor entertainment, maar voor resultaat moet je er niet zijn. ⁠⠀

1 CONSISTENT TRAINEN – niet 1, 2 of 3 weken maar iedere week weer. Leren hoe je consistent kan blijven is dé belangrijkste factor voor je succes⁠⠀

2 PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD – iedere training weer nét iets zwaarder maken dan de vorige door meer reps/sets/gewicht te doen ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
3 EEN SCHEMA – een op maat gemaakt trainingsschema dat aansluit bij jouw doelen, wensen & behoeften! ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
4 DE BASICS – je hoeft geen gekke en vreemde oefeningen te doen om progressie te maken. Houd je aan de basics, zorg dat je op deze oefeningen progressive overload toepast & you’re good to go! ⁠⠀

That's it. Dus, wil je billen? Stop met tegen de lucht aan trappen op een stairmaster, stop met body weight donkey kick backs & ga eens doen wat écht werkt. ⁠

I can definitely say this past year I  executed to create more self growth. And I can 100000% say it’s made a huge difference!

Because I actually took effort.

I invested in myself. To grow in all aspects of self growth.
It was extremely hard. But hands down worth it.

Self growth does not happen overnight. You can’t just think about it and expect to evolve. You have to put effort and do even when it’s hard and seems  stagnant.

Your actions matter. If you’re wanting to improve, you’re going to have to make serious sacrifice & feeling so uncomfortable.

I can definitely say this past year I executed to create more self growth. And I can 100000% say it’s made a huge difference! Because I actually took effort. I invested in myself. To grow in all aspects of self growth. It was extremely hard. But hands down worth it. Self growth does not happen overnight. You can’t just think about it and expect to evolve. You have to put effort and do even when it’s hard and seems stagnant. Your actions matter. If you’re wanting to improve, you’re going to have to make serious sacrifice & feeling so uncomfortable. You just can't rely on motivation to get you through. You're going to have days or weeks when you just don't feel like doing anything let alone working out.

The days when you feel like shit but still go and work out, they matter much more than the days when you're feeling good.

Your results are an accumulation of not only the good days that you have but how you deal with the bad ones.

Sometimes you just have to grit it out!

"When it comes to cleaning equipment, wipe it down before and after. When we sweat and wipe our face and then touch the handle, we're constantly exposing and saturating that device with germs. So clean off the equipment before and after, even if the person who used it before you looks totally fine. Remember that anywhere from 25% to 50% of infected people may not have symptoms but can still transmit the virus. Exercise studios and classes will need to follow strict precautions like proper spacing, air ventilation, and sanitation to keep people safe. "Every gym is planning to do different things and so you have to find the ones that are taking this very seriously, and those are the ones you should patronize." Check that your gym or fitness studio is following the right cleaning and distancing protocols before you head over, so that you can have some peace of mind during your workout. Here are some simple things you can do to make you training challenging⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Slow down your eccentrics (lowering phase) of each rep. This makes it a lot harder! Count down for a full 4-5 seconds every time.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Keep constant tension on the muscle. A good example might be on an exercise like goblet squats. They may not feel that hard if you're used to squatting heavy in the gym, but if you avoid locking out after each rep, and keep constant tension on your legs you'll find that it won't be long before they're burning!⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Like with anything else, you’ll have good days and bad days. What do you do when you’re in a rut and not seeing progress as quickly as you want?

Track your progress. Maybe it’s a dress that suddenly fits, an old pair of jeans that you haven’t worn in years or just measuring your waist and legs. Find a positive somewhere. Could be that you can do more push ups now or can squat heavier. Write it down. When you look back you’ll see how far you’ve come.

Setting small goals. Could be to drink 3 L of water or walk 12000 steps. Do it for a week. Then make another goal. Have something small to work at. Small wins keep you happy for the big win at the end!

Remember why you’re doing all of this. There was something in your life that needed a change, right? What was it? Don’t you want to feel better about yourself and accomplish your goals?

Try classes out. They aren’t for everyone but many people who couldn’t stay consistent managed to make working out a habit by making friends and becoming part of a community. It really helps!!!
.
Whatever you do, just remember that real progress takes time. Celebrate the small victories and focus on the main goal of being happier and healthier 😊

People always made comments about my body: “You can’t complain, you can eat everything without gaining weight”
“For you it’s easy, you don’t have fat” “You probably don’t have to work hard at all to be that skinny” “I wish I had your body, life would be so much easier” .

First of all, you never know the thoughts, feelings and beliefs of someone else about their own body. They might be struggling with things you probably can’t even imagine.

Second, you don’t know the HARD FREAKIN’ WORK that is behind a strong body. They don’t just have it without doing anything for it. You want a strong body? Go work for it. But this work will be the most beautiful thing you will give yourself, physically but MOST of all mentally. And believe me, I work hard every day. Because I know how it makes me FEEL. .

Last, STOP COMPARING yourself with somebody else. Never mentally trade your body for anyone else’s. Everybody is build different. Every life is different. See the beauty in what you have and work for what you want. Be proud of strong big thighs, of small but lean legs, that perky small but, that bouncy beautiful big booty, that soft belly or those hard rock abs. Be proud of YOURSELF, no matter what. You only have ONE BODY. Treat it with respect and care. .

It’s time to delete all those photos on your phone where you compare yourself with. Rip down the pictures and start envisioning yourself being the strongest you. Be your own #BODYGOAL. .

3. A Reason Why. - with a strong WHY you will not rely on motivation and you will do the things that need to be done without question.

Was häufig “vergessen” oder “übersehen” wird: Die Rate der Bank entspricht der Kaltmiete. Nebenkosten und Strom hast du weiterhin. Hinzu kommen:⁠ ⁠ Instandhaltung: Im Laufe eines Immobilienlebens gibst du enorme Summen zur Instandhaltung aus. Das ist in der Kaltmiete “inklusive”.⁠ ⁠ - Baunebenkosten ca. 20%: Makler, Notar, Grunderwerbssteuer⁠ - Pendeln: Wer nicht in der Stadt baut, gibt in der Regel deutlich mehr Geld für Auto und ÖPNV aus.⁠ - Laufende Nebenkosten: Müllgebühren, Winterdienst und Versicherungen werden in einem großen Mietshaus auf alle umgelegt.⁠ ⁠ So zahlt jeder einen relativ kleinen Anteil. Here are some simple things you can do to make you training challenging⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Slow down your eccentrics (lowering phase) of each rep. This makes it a lot harder! Count down for a full 4-5 seconds every time.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Keep constant tension on the muscle. A good example might be on an exercise like goblet squats. They may not feel that hard if you're used to squatting heavy in the gym, but if you avoid locking out after each rep, and keep constant tension on your legs you'll find that it won't be long before they're burning!⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Super setting 2 exercises back to back can keep on challenging your muscles, as they're still fatigued from the previous exercise.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Try some plyometrics. That's just a fancy word for pushing your body away from the ground. Squats and Push Ups would be the obvious choices for this one. If you're going to try the push ups, then try clapping in between each rep. Or a behind the back clap if you're a beast.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A great way to offset the forward head posture that cycling demands. This will strengthen your back and stabiliser muscles, stretch out your chest and shoulders, and help prevent injury. ➡️Lie across ball in prone position (body facing downwards); ball should be underneath lower abs/ upper thigh area; arms at the side 
Brace feet against a wall (or ask partner to assist) knees slightly bent, toes should be touching ground
Exhale through mouth and lower your upper body around the ball; inhale through nose and lift whole torso upwards
Focus on squeezing your scapula (shoulder blades together)
Externally rotate arms as you raise up; palms should face outwards and thumbs up
Hold position for 3-5 secs and lower back to starting position
Repeat 8-10 repetitions ➡️Muscles used
Erector spinae, glutes, hamstrings

Good question. The more you train - for certain strength sports and athletes - and practice your lifts with good proper form, the stronger you get and are able to progress with your weights over time. With good mobility comes strength which can improve speed and power too.

Something I read in an article way back  and saved which I liked went something like “when you have optimal mobility, you are able to get into better positions.”

About 5-10 mins of some mobility movements a day, which I am sure you can find loads of videos on @lees_corrective or @cleaearnshaw page, will go along way when it comes to your training goals (if you’re a lifter or go to the gym) and even to your DAILY LIFE - move better, feel good.

Pitta dosha regeert transformatie, alle chemische en metabole functies en is verantwoordelijk voor het vuur in je mind. Denk aan intelligentie, ambitie, drive, doorzettingsvermogen en passie. Zonder pitta zou er dus niets gemanifesteerd worden. Te veel Pitta kan echter zorgen voor allerlei fysieke en mentale klachten.⁠ Dus het vuurtje moet er zijn, maar zonder een brand te veroorzaken.⁠

Als we de cycli van de natuur volgen zijn de late lente en de zomer de Pitta dominante seizoenen. In deze seizoenen leef je idealiter een Pitta verlagende lifestyle. Hoe doe je dit? Hier een paar tips!⁠

• ⁠Mind through Body vs. Mind over Body! Dit is echt de ultieme uitdaging voor Pitta. Sta even stil, voel je lichaam en laat haar je vertellen of je een stapje terug moet doen of niet.⁠
• Maak rustige wandelingen in de natuur, vooral in de buurt van water of bossen.⁠
• Gebruik verkoelende geuren als parfum en in je huis - bijvoorbeeld roos, mint, jasmijn, lavendel, sandelhout.⁠

👉keep swiping left. 👉be careful while attempting the 3rd one, dumbel lift and shift oblique twist.  I'm doing with 15 kg,you can do with lighter weight. 👉in 4th one , the Russian twist ,  the more you keep away the weight from your chest, the effective it is.

But like I was saying, to switch it up, instead of doing all pushes in one workout, like chest & triceps, try doing a pull muscle like biceps instead. If you are training as hard as you should be, after hitting chest, by the time you get to triceps they are already taxed from being secondary muscles in almost all your chest exercises. By doing Biceps instead, you are training a fresher muscle group, so you will be able to go harder & heavier, which will lead to more GAINZ! Push Pull, doing all pushes together and pulls together, definitely has its place in programming, but I am just giving a way for most people to switch it up post-quarantine! Give it a shot & let me know what ya think! If you’ve been training hard during all of this, now is a great time to step it up a notch & keep the train moving even faster! Instead of bringing the bar to the forehead, bring it to around the mouth/nose - this will provide a greater stretch at the bottom of the movement.⠀
