PSA: it’s okay to give yourself breaks. In any aspect of life. You don’t lose all your hard work if you take some time out; your mental and physical health will benefit from it! I’ve been in a weird mindset as I haven’t been to the gym in a week now, because I’ve moved to uni, and despite how much I adore strength training, it would have been too much to put on myself when I’m still settling in. But you know what? My body hasn’t changed. Sure it might be a little rusty the first time, but my well rested body will be able to further the gains even more 🌟don’t be too harsh on yourself 💫💫

RECIPE: Thai Potato Curry with Tempeh
 1 tbsp coconut oil
 1 medium onion, sliced thinly
 4-5 tbsp @mekhalaliving Thai yellow curry paste
 1 8 oz package tempeh (or tofu)
 16 oz baby potatoes, cut in half
 2 cups carrot, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
 2 15oz cans full-fat coconut milk  4 cups baby spinach
 1 1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
 Thai basil or cilantro for garnish
Directions: Heat coconut oil in a large pot over medium high heat until shimmering. Fry tempeh until both sides are browned, then remove from pan. Add diced onions and saute for 2 minutes until translucent, then add curry paste and cook for 3 more minutes to release the flavor of the spices. Add potatoes, carrots, coconut milk, and sugar, and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until potatoes are fully cooked. Toss in baby spinach and stir until wilted, then taste and add more salt, if needed. Remove from heat, stir in lime juice, and serve hot over rice, topping with chopped basil or cilantro for garnish.

nourishyourbody cookie dough for lunch 🤪🤪wait, yeah ya read that right. COOKIE DOUGH...well, kinda. This is chickpea protein cookie dough, something which I’ve been meaning to make for aaaages. It was so simple and genuinely tastes amazing 😍 recipe:
- one can of chickpeas - a tablespoon of oats - two teaspoons of cashew butter (or another nut butter really!)
- a splash of plant based milk/a couple of spoons of yoghurt (helps it blend. I just add a little and add more if it’s struggling to blend)
- a half scoop of ya fave protein powder (optional: can add any kind of flavouring you like! I just had no vanilla extract so I used @missfitsnutrition vanilla vegan powder. Plus it boosts the protein even more🤷‍♀️)
- added extra option: a sweetener of your choice! (Recipes say maple syrup, agarve, dates, it’s all up to you! Mine was sweet enough with the protein powder and cashew butter though!)
- a couple squares of ya fave choc🍫(I used Lindt 90% dark cause the darker the better for me!😛) • drain ya chickpeas and pop them in the blender • add all the ingredients and blend until it has a thick, gloopy texture (I know some people make it really dry and doughy but I prefer mine to be a ‘wet’ dough)
• if you’re struggling to blend it, add a lil more milk/water/yoghurt just to get things going • scoop into a bowl and top with your chocolate. Mix and enjoy! 🤩🍪 This bowl is packed with veggie goodness, protein, complex carbs, healthy fats and lotsa minerals too. The perfect meal!💗💝👌💘💘

To bake the sweet potatoes, just preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/400F/gas 6 and line a baking tray with non stick baking parchment. Wash and dry your sweet potatoes, then poke several holes all over them using a sharp knife (be careful, don’t stab your self 🙃) Bake the sweet potatoes in the preheated oven for about 45 mins, or until super soft inside. Slice the sweet potatoes open, add the bean chilli inside the potatoes, top with avocado, salt & chilli flakes! 🥰

Ingredients:⠀
1 large sweet potato, peeled and diced into 3/4-inch cubes (3 cups)⠀
4 Tbsp olive oil, divided⠀
1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced into pieces (about 1 1/4-inches, keep them close to the same size so they all cook even)⠀
3 1/2 cups small broccoli florets⠀
1/2 of a medium red onion, diced into chunks⠀
3 cloves garlic, minced⠀
3/4 tsp of each dried thyme, sage, parsley and rosemary⠀
1/8 tsp nutmeg⠀
Salt and freshly ground black pepper⠀
1/2 cup pecans, whole or roughly chopped⠀
1/3 cup dried cranberries⠀

Instructions:⠀
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place sweet potatoes in a mound on a rimmed 18 by 13-inch baking sheet, pour 1 Tbsp over top and toss to evenly coat. Spread into an even layer and roast in preheated oven for 15 minutes (meanwhile chop and prep remaining ingredients).⠀
Remove sweet potatoes from oven, add chicken pieces, broccoli florets, and red onion around sweet potatoes (just placing everything randomly). Sprinkle with garlic and drizzle everything with remaining 3 Tbsp olive oil (focusing mostly on the broccoli so it doesn't dry) and toss with a spatula to evenly coat. Sprinkle evenly with thyme, sage, parsley, rosemary and nutmeg and about 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper. Toss again to evenly coat with seasonings and spread out evenly (try not to overlap chicken pieces). Return to oven and roast about 16 - 20 minutes longer, tossing once halfway through, until chicken registers 165 degrees in center. Toss in pecans and cranberries. Serve immediately (preferably with a glass full of apple cider, it's the perfect pairing and completes this fall meal).

nourishyourbody First breakfast in the new house is hard-boiled eggs & a leftover apple from Panera because tbh I’m kind of terrified to cook in this new kitchen & mess something up 😩 & boiling water seems like the least risky thing to do 🤷‍♀️ but don’t worry I’m sure this feeling will subside quickly because I have so many recipes I’ve been putting together I can’t wait to cook em up🤗

First breakfast in the new house is hard-boiled eggs & a leftover apple from Panera because tbh I’m kind of terrified to cook in this new kitchen & mess something up 😩 & boiling water seems like the least risky thing to do 🤷‍♀️ but don’t worry I’m sure this feeling will subside quickly because I have so many recipes I’ve been putting together I can’t wait to cook em up🤗

Pumpkin spiced oats:
• 1 cup (100g) oats
• 1 1/2 heaped tbsp 100% natural pumpkin purée from a can.
• 2 tbsp maple syrup
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp ground cloves
• pinch salt
• a splash of oat milk (or any plant milk) 
_________________________
1. Add the oats, all the spices & salt into a saucepan, stir everything together.
2. Cover the oats with a little boiling water, stir well, until gloopy, then stir in the pumpkin purée, maple syrup & vanilla extract.
3. Heat up the porridge on the hob at a medium heat setting until hot, then turn the heat down to low & simmer for 5 mins adding a few splashes of oat milk until you reach your desired porridge consistency. 
4. Top with your favourite toppings!Drizzle with extra maple syrup. Enjoy! (You can keep any leftovers in a jar in the fridge to reheat for a snack or tomorrow’s breakfast! 🥰

SUNDAY PEACH CRISP 👇🏻 ⁣
⁣
filing: ⁣
4 peaches, chopped up⁣
2 T lemon juice ⁣
1 T arrowroot ⁣
2 T coconut sugar ⁣
1/2 t vanilla extract ⁣
⁣
crumble:⁣
1/2 C @onedegreeorganics sprouted oats ⁣
1/2 C almond flour ⁣
1/4 C shredded coconut ⁣
2 T coconut sugar ⁣
1 t vanilla extract ⁣
1/4 C @miyokoscreamery vegan butter, melted ⁣
pinch pink salt ⁣
⁣
1. combine filling ingredients in large bowl & mix until peaches are coated evenly. transfer to glass pie dish. ⁣
2. combine crumble ingredients in mixing bowl. mix until well incorporated and “crumbly”. spread on top of the peaches. ⁣
3. bake 350F for 25-30 minutes until golden and fragrant. ⁣
4. serve with @coyo_organic vanilla yogurt (breakfast) or @so_delicious coconut ice cream (dessert)

nourishyourbody It’s Sunday and in my house that means meal prep. I get a little bored with prepping the same old chicken, broccoli, and rice lunches so I try to change it up as often as I can. I want to have interesting and delicious meals to look forward to during my work day. So, this week, I decided to slow roast pork butt from @butcher_box in my old school slow cooker. All you have to do is season the pork generously on all sides with salt, pepper, and whatever spices you like. I used cumin and coriander. Put a small amount of water and apple cider vinegar in the bottom of the slow cooker and add the roast. Cook on medium to high for 4-6 hours. I love to use the slow cooker because once the meat is in the pot you can forget about it for the rest of the day and when you come back it’s ready to go! For my lunches, I simply added spinach, rice, radish, and cilantro to a bowl and topped it with the shredded pork. I also added a little leftover chimichurri I had hanging around in the fridge —Let me know if you’d like me to post the recipe for the chimichurri sauce 🙂 This meal is so simple to prepare and now I can’t wait to eat lunch tomorrow. .

I'm sure you've seen many posts about how one bad meal is not going to make you unhealthy and one good meal is not going to make you healthy. 
So don't let ONE bad meal or ONE bad night turn into MANY.

Take some time to step back and figure out what knocked you off your path. 
Was it the location? The ambiance? The atmosphere? The type of food available? The beverages? The people? 
Look at everything that was in your environment and see what may have caused you to falter. 
By doing this, you are choosing not to be defined by that fault!  You are choosing to be better by growing from that experience! And you are choosing to take back control from a situation that you may think you have no control over! 
So don't be hard on yourself. Be hard on the circumstances.  Learn something from those mistakes. And solidify your position for success!

Sunday was always the last supper day for me. I would eat all the things I was going to restrict starting Monday. You don’t have to do that anymore. You can have whatever foods you enjoy whenever you want them. If you’re tired of dieting, look into Intuitive Eating. It’s not for everyone, but it’s worth looking into. This week has been pretty busy in terms of activity! On Thursday my class went to bendigo to check out the @balenciaga exhibition in bendigo which a good time and a half but the 5hr train trip..yeh not so much🙃 pretty much everyone was half asleep on arrival because a 7am train and continuous siting in heat is probably not the best conditions🤣 anyways tho- would definitely recommend the exhibition if your craving some sculptural garment inspiration which I am 10000% at the current moment 🙌 we’re going into the beginning of 2nd sem finals and the pressure is pretty low..so I’m stressed- so much to do AND SO little time..don’t even get me started on the fact I have no idea where to begin as well🤯

Oooh also I know a few people messaged me in regards to the new @colessupermarkets range of @alpro yoghurt! Love it dudes! I used to be a huge yoghurt fan, and still am although coyo has never been something I am deeply passionate for, the cashew yoghurt is wildly good🙇🏼‍♀️ although I do thing @nakulaorganic coyo is the superior plant based yoghurt the taste of the @alpro one is fantastic and has no weird aftertaste which I’ve found with almond milk yoghurts 🌟  #happy

Immer wenn mir jemand erzählt, er wolle abnehmen, kommt direkt eine Zahl auf die die Person hinarbeitet. Meist sind das 50 oder 60 kg bei uns Frauen. Ich kann euch nur sagen, es gibt nichts sinnloseres als sich um die Zahl auf der Waage zu kümmern. Zum einen, weil es ganz natürlich ist das bei uns Frauen Gewichtsschwankungen von 1-5 kg vorkommen. Sei es durch Wassereinlagerungen, Hormone, eine veränderte Raumtemperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit, dein Mageninhalt oder die länge deine Schlafes.⁠

Früher wollte ich auch immer ums Verrecken unter 60 kg kommen was ich nur während meiner Wattkampfdiät geschafft habe. Ich war jedes mal enttäuscht wenn ich mich wieder nach einer Woche gewogen habe und sich kaum etwas am Gewicht verändert hatte. Warum dein Gewicht dir scheiß egal sein sollte!⁠ .⁠ Immer wenn mir jemand erzählt, er wolle abnehmen, kommt direkt eine Zahl auf die die Person hinarbeitet. Meist sind das 50 oder 60 kg bei uns Frauen. Ich kann euch nur sagen, es gibt nichts sinnloseres als sich um die Zahl auf der Waage zu kümmern. Zum einen, weil es ganz natürlich ist das bei uns Frauen Gewichtsschwankungen von 1-5 kg vorkommen. Sei es durch Wassereinlagerungen, Hormone, eine veränderte Raumtemperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit, dein Mageninhalt oder die länge deine Schlafes.⁠ .⁠ Früher wollte ich auch immer ums Verrecken unter 60 kg kommen was ich nur während meiner Wattkampfdiät geschafft habe. Ich war jedes mal enttäuscht wenn ich mich wieder nach einer Woche gewogen habe und sich kaum etwas am Gewicht verändert hatte.
