🌱 Read & drink Tea 🌱
As you have seen on my Story i’ve been switching from coffee to matcha this week embracing the Matcha Chado Tea Ritual & doing 5-10 minutes of positive morning reading.
I never thought anything could take coffee’s place but I’m finding that what everyone says IS true & matcha gives you a more subtle but strong & long lasting energizing effect - i LOVE it 💚🎋 My favourite mindful books to read are Seneca (which i received from my mother), Khalil Gibran ‘the Prophet’, and this recent one which i received from my friend @helencdiaz ‘Meditationen’. They are little, and easy to read in just a few pages to get your mind ready for the day. I prefer reading these books over the newspaper filled with bad news. I try to catch up with the daily news sometime during the day when my mind is more mentally prepped to deal with the negativity :) Whats your morning ritual? What do you read? Ok this is NOT an AD!! It may look like it but it is just my overflowing basket 🧺 of my morning “stuff” I like to add to my morning Matcha 🍵 🍵🍵 I am a health nut, for as long as I can remember I have been buying the “weird” stuff from the health food store. To see what it can do for me. To see if it’s magical claims are actually true.
So in case your like me and your basket or maybe even cardboard is overflowing with healthy things that your not totally sure what to do with or want to get some but don’t know where to start. Here are my TOP 4 favs
1. Four Stigma mushrooms 🍄 I have been learning more and more about the benefits of mushrooms for the last year or so.
Reishi mushrooms 🍄 high on my list, a great adaptogen with the ability to support stress and help with restful sleep.
Cordyceps mushrooms 🍄 his one helps me get going in the mornings.
Lion’s Mane mushrooms 🍄 this one is my brain food. Helps me focus I also add Ashwagandha tincture too.
2. Ashwagandha. This one is all about brain food for me. Helping with brain fog in the morning and mood for the rest of the day.
3. New Chapter Fermented Maca Powder. (I honestly haven’t tired other brands. I just really love this brand.) This one again helps boost my energy for the day and helps improve over all mood. There has been some pretty cool studies coming out on maca powder finding that it can help with anxiety and symptoms of depression ~ pretty cool right!! 4. Collagen ( I am doing marine Collagen) this one is definitely improving skin, hair and nails. Also helping with my knee joint pain.

I’ve been absolutely obsessed with starting my morning with matcha after a tall glass of water… it helps me ease into my morning. I still do drink coffee but matcha is much easier on my stomach so I love to start my day with that and THEN go for a coffee. ~ ~
Every morning I wake up with weird stomach feelings. I NEVER wake up hungry no matter how late I eat the night before. Drinking water has helped but for some odd reason I wake up nauseous and not in the mood. It usually takes me 2-3 hours after first waking up to eat breakfast. That being said I always do eat breakfast, especially when I know I’m going to be out and about all day.

Morning Matcha Latte🍵 I am not a coffee drinker and never have been. I take one sip (literally 1 I’m seriously not kidding) and I’m fully bouncing off the walls & shaking, and then 4 hours later I crash. It affects me like CRAZY. Most people don’t have this problem lol but if you do try matcha! I’ve started drinking this lately because it wakes me up but it doesn’t put me on blast. I use • matcha powder • hot water • @so_delicious unsweetened coconut milk & unsweetened hemp milk in the frother (it froths like CRAZY btw) • lil bit of honey • cinnamon •

i’ve been posting daily on my story to keep y’all informed with my transition from coffee to matcha for the past week but wanted to give a bit more detailed of a post here🌱
here’s my matcha recipe:
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla @so_delicious coconut milk🥥
1/2 cup water💦
2 grams matcha (1serving)
cinnamon to taste
1 tsp honey🍯
1/2 tsp vanilla
don’t get my wrong i LOVE my morning coffee & it helps me get through grad school no doubt!👩🏽💻🤓 but when i drink it too often i definitely experience the afternoon crash. so in hopes to have longer lasting energy i wanted to turn to matcha. that along with lots of whole fruits and veggies & LOTS OF WATER, have aided me to have the energy to make it through busy days without the crash. if you’re in a bit of a rut with energy levels, this could be the switch for you! if you’re ordering it out at a coffee shop, i always ask for *UNSWEETENED MATCHA LATTEE WITH COCONUT MILK* & add cinnamon or honey myself. but just know you can make it at home and save ya self some $$$. happy sunday y’all💛💛

If only Sunday mornings could last forever. I’d probably overdose on warm beverages... but I’d die happy. Today I’ve got @thrivemarket organic matcha warming my soul with a scoop of @primalkitchenfoods vanilla coconut collagen fuel, oat milk, @lakantosweetener monkfruit sweetener, and a pinch of sea salt. Don’t forget the pinch of sea salt!
