Ok, first off this is Natilee, a lawyer from DC but originally from Alabama. Super, super cool lady! Fucking funny as hell! Second, we didn't even finish half of the tour, maybe about half of it. We started at the 5pm and ended at 11pm at the hidden tequila bar.
One of the first things she said when she got in was, "where can I get an espresso" and right away, say no more, I got you! There's only one place and it's on the tour route already: My favorite Vegas restaurant, Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bistro! I love this spot for sooo many reasons! It's off the beaten path, beautifully designed, no dress code, tucked away in a back corner in the depths of the Venetian hotel. Ingredients, portion size, price and service is all there 100%
Turns out she was already big Bouchon fan! Perfect! Now, I've had everything on the breakfast and brunch menu and I've been dying to dive into the dinner menu! However, I've never had the right person to take or go to the Bouchon with for dinner although I think I might have found someone... Anyway, I've heard the best things are the Rainbow Trout, Roasted Chicken (Keller signature dish) and the Lamb. So, we had:
roasted leg of lamb with Tokyo turnips,
new crop potatoes, leeks,
French breakfast radishes & lamb jus
Tartare de Boeuf
beef tartare with radish, cornichons,
frisée & horseradish crème fraîche,
served with grilled pain de campagne
Escargot à la Bourguignon
Burgundy snails, parsley-garlic butter & Bouchon Bakery puff pastry $17.50
That Escargot parsley-garlic butter was to fucking die for! Jesus Christ you could dip anything in there, and I did! You could dip a tennis shoe in this shit and it'll be delicious!
Basically skipped through everything else on the tour and spent the rest of the night saying a dozen or so tequila and mezcals at a hidden tequila bar inside the Cosmo. Tried so much new stuff tonight. Happy boy! 😁
