Bistro Si ･ ba ･ ki
after a long time.
Although it is lightly seasoned, a deeper taste is visible and hidden everywhere. This is a special place. I want to eat it with a heavy seasoning. I want to go to the night and say that I'm going to do it.
My heart is full. This is a tough one to sum up. In Kyoto, Japan there's a venue called Kenny's that's dedicated to american country western music. I had tried emailing them months ago to see about playing there but I never heard back, probably because of the language barrier. So on my first night in Kyoto I went by. They were closed until the weekend so I slipped a note under their door figuring nothing would come of it. A few days later they got in touch and invited me to their Saturday show! The band is all japanese and called The Tennesee Five. They have several generations of the same family in it. The bandleader saw Johnny Cash in Tokyo decades ago when he was 19 years old! They are all INCREDIBLY talented musicians and the venue feels like you're stepping back in time. What an honor to play with them! Here's some photos of the night by @tsumugi_cathy. Then I added a few of my own to show y'all some Kyoto sights!
My off the beaten path Kyoto video is now live on my channel! You can see all the places I went including the ones in these photos 😏
I partnered with @veltra_japan for this, and now you guys can also try some of the things I did in the video as Veltra is giving away a trip for two this holiday season (enter via their Instagram page!)
What better way to start off the new year, than a new adventure! Good luck guys 😁
