🥕Main meal option 1: miso glazed salmon/tofu sheet pan with green beans and carrots over quinoa

🍕Main meal option 2: pizza quesadillas with Cesar salad on the side

🥦Main meal option 3: chow mein with chicken/tofu
.
🥥*Main meal option 4: no reheat Thai coconut curry wraps with chicken/tofu (I made more of these, they couldn’t all fit in the photo)
.
🍿Snacks: homemade popcorn (my newest snack obsession) and giant peaches my partner picked up from the farmers market (his fave)

💸COST was about $55 this week. Note that we use a lot of stuff in our pantry and freezer (fish, chicken, tofu, quinoa, sauces, spices, oils etc)

🍽STORAGE NOTES: all meals will be stored in the fridge until they’re eaten! They’ll be reheated in the microwave as needed.

🍣This is not all we eat for the whole week! I do a midweek prep Wednesday night and usually work in a few takeout/one-off dinners but that depends on our schedules.

🍕Main meal 1: pizza enchiladas. You wouldn’t have known it without the “before” pic, but a LOT of veggies went into this one. I also added a whole tomato in there and some leftover chicken found it’s way into 2 enchilada meals. Recipe coming soon to the WWL Program (learn more in my bio link)!

🍅Main meal 2: Moroccan chickpeas, tomatoes and sweet potatoes. This is a WWL classic and it’s free on my site (search “Moroccan chickpeas Workweek Lunch”). As you can see there are only 4 main ingredients. I used cumin, cayenne, cinnamon and some other spices as well. It’s one of my faves!

🤘🏼Notice how I used up an entire bunch of kale across two meals. Meal prep is essential if you want to easily use up everything you buy before it goes bad!
.
🥕I also made a lentil quinoa bowl but the final product turned into something different than I expected. I can’t wait to share that easy recipe too!

🙏🏼I hope by showing you these before/after posts, you can see how SIMPLE cooking can be. You don’t need a million ingredients. The ingredients don’t have to be fancy.

healthyinspiration 💯In most cases, you can make meals vegetarian just by swapping the protein in a recipe! This is something I’ve gotten really good at over the years by writing recipes for omnivores and vegetarians/vegans, but it definitely takes practice.

⚠️While the protein isn’t the only factor in a meal that can make something vegetarian/omnivore (lets not forget about types of broth, sauces made with ingredients from animals etc), it’s often the number one consideration when trying to cook for omnivores and plant based eaters.

✅Other plant based proteins I like to use are:

Tempeh
Quinoa
Edamame
Seitan
Black beans
Pinto beans
Soyrizo
Veggie burgers
Veggie “meat” crumbles
Veggie sausage

Here where I live(Israel) we have them frozen or if sometimes there is some fresh ones - they cost a lot! 😒
The fresh berries taste really different from the frozen ones and now I prefer to eat them fresh😅

Ricominciare a fare attività fisica dopo uno stop è sempre faticoso, ma la soddisfazione che mi da sentire di star lavorando sul mio corpo mi fa stare davvero bene. Tenermi in forma è una cosa che amo e a cui non voglio più rinunciare, tutto con le giuste misure ovviamente

Meritiamo tutti di coccolarci un po’ e di dedicarci del tempo tutto nostro da trascorrere facendo ciò che più ci piace fare e soprattutto che ci fa sentire bene

CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD 🍌🍞
|| 1 ripe banana + 2 eggs + 1 tsp vanilla extract + 1/2 cup of cashew milk + 2 tbsp coconut oil + 3 scoops of @vitalproteins collagen peptides + 2 tbsp chia seeds + sprinkle of cinnamon + 1 box of @simplemills banana bread mix + handful of @enjoylifefoods chocolate chips ||
1. Mix all wet ingredients into a bowl
2. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients to the wet (sans the chocolate chip)
3. Add the chocolate chips to the batter
4. Pour the batter into a greased loaf tin (or use parchment paper to avoid sticking)
5. Bake for 30 mins at 325F
6. Cover with foil and bake another 20 mins (this will make it gooey, if you want it more cooked, leave it in for 5 to 10 mins more)
7. Let it cool for 10-15 mins before slicing
8. Enjoy! ✨

but the more i think about it, the more i realize that I’ve grown so much in the past 6 months. 🌿 i have carved out parts of myself that i thought we’re stuck in me forever. i’ve adapted new habits & new ways of thinking. i’ve come to realize that life is only as good as i see & think it to be. 🧠 i have so much to be thankful for, have become more like myself, & have somehow managed to let go of this feeling of needing to be just what everyone wants me to be. and that’s something i never thought possible for myself. 💫⁣

& you may be wondering why i’m sharing this with you, i want you to realize that even when you think nothing is happening for you. even when you feel at your lowest & like your stuck going in circles.🌀you may actually be evolving, growing, & becoming closer to that higher version of you. bc growth is extremely uncomfortable. it doesn’t happen overnight. and it isn’t linear. it’s not something you’re going to notice right away. ⁣

if i would’ve known that the last few months & the realllly reallllly low days were going to bring me here, to this moment of grace & acceptance & gratitude, i wouldn’t have been so hard on myself. 🌈 i would’ve stopped along the way to remind myself that this is only temporary. that i can change my life if i want to. and some days, that’s exactly what i did tell myself. but on days that my belief wasn’t as strong & i felt like i wasn’t making a difference, i still was. 👊🏻 (i’m the type of person who used to need instant gratification) & right now, in this moment. 6 more months from now, i’m going to be looking back on my hard days & realize i’ve grown even more as a person. kinda cool how it all comes full circle. 🌎⁣

This salad was a mixture of arugula, radishes, tomatoes, sprouts, cucumbers, cotija cheese and kidney beans with a miso-tahini dressing. The perfect meal when the weather doesn’t permit turning on the oven or stove!

The heart healthy oils in the tahini and sesame help the body absorb the fat-soluble vitamins K and A. 1 cup of arugula has about 25% of a woman’s daily need for vitamin K and about 20% of a woman’s daily requirement for vitamin A. But the body can’t absorb these vitamins without a source of fat in that same meal. Almost everybody has it at home; our lovely scale. Yeah sure, sometimes you need to know your weight.

In my opinion, you can throw these things straight out of the window and burn them afterwards.
⠀⠀
I want to tell you what weighing myself did to me.
⠀⠀
If you read my previous blogs, you probably know about my toxic mindset a few years ago. ⠀⠀
The number on the scale was everything to me. It was one of the only things that I could hold on to and be... proud of, in a weird way.
⠀⠀
I never loved myself back then, so at least I could say „I‘m skinny! I‘m 50kg! Like all the models!“
⠀⠀
So weighing myself was a must; every day - often many times throughout the day. ⠀⠀
And boy did I get scared when there was no „0“ behind the „5“. ⠀⠀
I‘m writing this down to tell you - if you are struggling with this in any way - that the number on the scale is just that: a number.
⠀⠀
You don‘t need to weigh yourself to be able to appreciate your body. Weight is dependent on so many things, like water, muscle mass, the amount of food you have eaten. ⠀⠀
Your weight fluctuates so much anyways; you should never ever be focused on a single number on the scale.
⠀⠀
Look at bodybuilders - they should be totally obese when looking at the scale! That‘s because muscles are heavier than fat - rendering the scale pretty much useless for distinction between fat and thin.
⠀⠀
The only thing that matters is whether or not you like what you see inside the mirror (if you are at a point where you can trust that view!).
⠀⠀
Once I came to that conclusion, I felt so incredibly more free and happy. Once I stopped weighing myself, I never looked back.

To this day I don‘t do it - also because I am scared to fall back into this toxic mindset. I don‘t ever want that again.
⠀⠀
Please think about everything you just read. I know there‘s so many people out there who struggle with this kind of problem.

That‘s because muscles are heavier than fat - rendering the scale pretty much useless for distinction between fat and thin. ⠀⠀ The only thing that matters is whether or not you like what you see inside the mirror (if you are at a point where you can trust that view!). ⠀⠀ Once I came to that conclusion, I felt so incredibly more free and happy. Once I stopped weighing myself, I never looked back. ⠀⠀ To this day I don‘t do it - also because I am scared to fall back into this toxic mindset. I don‘t ever want that again. ⠀⠀ Please think about everything you just read. I know there‘s so many people out there who struggle with this kind of problem. ⠀⠀ If I can help only one person, that‘s enough for me. Stay strong.

Pasto semplice non è sinonimo di senza sapore, basta un piccolo tocco per rendere speciale un piatto di gnocchi di patate, meglio ancora se questi sono fatti a mano

Basta bollire le patate, schiacciarle, unire la farina che si desidera e formare dei piccoli gnocchetti da cuocere in acqua salata e condire a piacere
.
Fare gli gnocchi a mano mi ricorda l’infanzia e le lunghe impastate con la mia mamma 💕
Ma in mancanza di tempo, nei supermercati si trovano delle valide alternative, anche senza glutine!!

Ingredients:⠀
• 8 large dates⠀
• 1 cup rolled oats⠀
• 1/2 cup all-natural peanut butter⠀
• 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder⠀
• 1/4 cup milk⠀
• 2 tablespoons dried cherries⠀
• 2 tablespoons honey (optional)⠀
⠀
Directions:⠀
1. Add dates to a food processor and pulse until they form a paste. Add oats and pulse a few more times until combined.⠀
2. Pour date-oat mixture into a medium-sized bowl and add peanut butter and protein powder. Stir to combine.⠀
3. Mix in milk and honey (optional) until incorporated. Fold in dried cherries. ⠀
4. Form into bite-sized balls, and store in the refrigerator or freezer. ⠀

• Delivered over 70 hours of physical and holistic exercise to children ages 4-17 years of age, partnering with 10 schools in the Chester area. ~
• Delivered over 30 sessions to tackle emotional and mental health, engaging with 1400 children this summer, to tackle inactivity, nutritional education and develop healthy habits. ~
• Rage have been working closely with local assets to address and be a support for isolation, child exploitation and more - using fitness and yoga as a enabler to develop stronger healthier mindsets. ~
• And we all have had so much fun along the way together. ~

I‘ve been saddened by the fact that my belly doesn‘t look as good in the evening for the longest time until I finally realized that it‘s just normal to not be your leanest after a day of eating.

I mean, think about it: Your stomach is about the size of your fist - and now imagine the volume of food you eat daily. Your body just has to stretch out somehow.
⠀⠀
Now, if you are constantly bloated, this might be the result of dehydration, too much sodium or a more unhealthy diet in general. ⠀⠀
What really helps there is camomile tea, ginger and lemon juice, in my experience. Oh, exercising also really helps btw.

Still, being bloated is no reason to feel ashamed for or even fat. Your digestive system needs to work!

Appreciate all the hard work it is putting in - it basically magically gets rid of all the stuff that you‘ve been stuffing into there overnight! Witchcraft!

What are you leaving on the table if you don’t go after your goals? What will you miss out on if you don’t start that podcast, that blog, that Etsy store, or that side passion project?

Why are we trained to look at risk as a negative thing? Maybe the real risk is NOT doing anything to go after what you want.

Taking a risk and trying something new can be scary! I totally get that. I was excited, but honestly scared when I joined Beautycounter. I knew nothing about products, didn’t want to be salesy, and had just moved to Texas and had no social network there. But I started! I didn’t let the fear stop me and for close to 3 years now, I’ve been sharing all that I’ve learned along the way (still learning everyday), have joined a community of amazing women who are the biggest cheerleaders and new friends, and have a passion-filled/purpose-driven “job” outside of my mama role, that I can work whenever I want.

I challenge you to look past the negativity haze around the word risk, and seize your opportunity to grow. What if everything exceeds your expectations? How good will it feel to reach your goals? You’ll never know until you try.

AVOIDING certain foods you’ve been told are “bad” is actually what’s a hell of a lot unhealthier than eating it and moving on… because once you deem it “bad” or “unhealthy,” what happens when you DO eat the candy? 🙇‍♀️Guilt and negative attention on what you did wrong... and those emotions have frickin’ NOTHING to do with candy — rather, they’re all about your relationship with the candy 👯‍♀️ and the COMPARISON of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ummmmm no. ❌ Because it’s not about the candy. It’s about consistent daily action that aligns with your goals and works for YOU! I suggest investing in a meat thermometer!!🌡 You can find them at any store that carries kitchen products, and I’ll give you two SUPER easy temperature numbers to remember➡️➡️ #summercooking #grilling #nutritionwithTara

If you are looking for a breakfast (or snack!) powerhouse think about an egg and veggie combo. Eggs are one of the highest food source of choline. Choline isn’t a vitamin, but it is an essential nutrient. It is involved in a plethora of vital physiological processes, such as: metabolism (important!), lipid transport, methylation reactions, and neurotransmitter synthesis. In animal studies choline has been shown to be essential for optimal brain development and influences cognitive function later in life. Our bodies can make choline, however, not in the amounts required to meet our metabolic needs, so we must get it from our diet. It could easily be bulked up with the addition of quinoa and chickpeas to make a more filling meal packed with plant protein and complex carbohydrates. I have been topping it with a dill tahini dressing, but you could easily switch it up with a citrus based vinaigrette. If you are looking for meal prep ideas, prepping a base of produce and having a couple of different add in options (different sauces, legumes, and grains) makes meals throughout the week easy, but adds the ability for a bit of variety so you don’t get bored. .

1 cucumber chopped
1 large tomato cut into 1/2 in cubes
1 large peach cut into small pieces 
1 ear of corn 
1/2 red onion thinly chopped .

healthyinspiration Buongiorno ☀️ Il sole regna alto nel cielo per questo risveglio di metà settimana; siete già rientrati dalle vacanze? 
Io si, e per darmi la carica mi serve proprio una bella #colazione 
Oggi vi presento la mia prima ricettina, nonché una delle mie preferite in tema di colazione: PORRIDGE BANANA E VANIGLIA! 🍌

Ingredienti: .
• 40g di miglio decorticato o avena
• 100 ml di acqua normale
• 90 ml di latte di cocco
• 1 cucchiaino abbondante di sciroppo d’acero .
• vaniglia in polvere .
Procedimento: 
Far cuocere in un pentolino il miglio con l’acqua fino a che questa non sarà stata assorbita del tutto. A questo punto unire il latte di cocco, la vaniglia, lo sciroppo d’acero e continuare a cuocere per un paio di minuti. 
Togliere dal fuoco, riporre in una tazza e guarnire con una banana tagliata a fette e del burro di nocciole della @damiano_organic .
Gustare ancora caldo per un sapore più deciso. 
Risultato assicurato! 
Provare per credere. 💙
