Recipe: Wet⠀
3/4 cup almond milk⠀
3/4 cup sugar⠀
2 tsp vanilla extract⠀
3 tbsp veg oil⠀
half lemon, juiced and zested⠀
1/2 cup non dairy yoghurt⠀
⠀
Dry⠀
2 cups all purpose gluten free flour⠀
1/4 tsp xanthan gum⠀
1.5 tsp baking powder⠀
1/4 tsp baking soda⠀
1/4 tsp salt⠀
1 cup blueberries⠀
⠀
Preheat oven to 180•c and line a loaf tin. Mix all wet ingredients together in a bowl until smooth. In a another bowl, add all dry ingredients apart from blueberries. Stir to combine, then add to the wet ingredients and mix to form a smooth batter. Fold through 3/4 cup blueberries, saving the rest. Fill loaf tin with batter and sprinkle blueberries on top. Bake for 60 mins, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. 2️⃣ It isn’t a reward for eating vegetables or cleaning his plate. ⠀
3️⃣Teaches intuitive eating. If he just eats that item and says “I’m full”, I remind him there won’t be any food till the next designated meal time. This gives him the opportunity to evaluate if he wants to eat something else or not. .⠀

When I first started this method, the ‘sometime’ food nearly always got eaten first but after the novelty wore off I started noticing him reaching for the other components of the meal first.⠀

Ingredients
(for 4 servings)
3 tablespoons oil
3 chicken breasts, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon garlic powder
5 cups milk (1 ¼ L)
4 cups penne pasta (400 g)
1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded (100 g)

Preparation
Heat oil in a large pot over high heat
Add chicken and cook until no pink is visible, about 5-6 minutes, then take the chicken out.
Add the bell peppers and onion, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 6 minutes.
Add the chicken back to the pot with salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder, stirring until evenly coated, about 30 seconds.
Add the milk and the penne, stirring constantly to prevent any pasta from sticking.
Cook for about 20 minutes until pasta is cooked and the milk has reduced to a thick sauce that coats the pasta.
Add the cheese and mix until melted.

The secret ingredient in this Creamy Avocado Pasta Salad recipe will shock you! This avocado pasta salad is easy, creamy, vibrant, fresh and so satisfying!

4 cups lightly packed (about 3 oz) fresh baby spinach
4 Tbsp lemon juice (from 1 large lemon)
1 garlic clove, sliced
3 medium avocados (2 for the dressing, 1 for salad)
12 oz rotini pasta
1 cup (half of a 10 oz bag) frozen sweet peas
1 cup (half of a 10 oz bag) frozen corn
2 cups (1 pint) Baby tomatoes, halved
1 tsp sea salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste

How To Make Creamy Avocado Pasta Salad:
Cook pasta according to package instructions – I cooked 12 oz pasta in 4 Qts water with 1 Tbsp salt and boiled 10 minutes. About 4 minutes before your pasta is done cooking, add frozen peas and frozen corn and cook 4 minutes or until veggies are crisp tender. Rinse under running cold water to chill the pasta. Drain well and transfer to a large mixing bowl. In a food processor or blender, combine half of the spinach, 2 quartered avocados, 4 Tbsp lemon juice, 1 sliced garlic clove, 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Pulse until blended then add remaining spinach and blend until creamy and smooth.
Add avocado dressing to pasta bowl along with sliced tomatoes and 1 remaining sliced avocado. Toss salad together until evenly coated. Season to taste with more salt and black pepper.

I started to look closely into then calories of alcohol and was shocked at the amount of calories I was consuming in 1 night.

I would never of imagined 1 cocktail had almost ½ my daily calories I was on! 
I quickly changed that and started to have clear shots alcohol or vodka sodas which have an average of only 64 calories per tumbler.

The average serve of a cocktail is generally 200 calories and let’s be real who only has 1❓ Definitely not me 🙅🏻‍♀️. You can still go out and enjoy your drinks 🍸 but just get familiar with what your having.

For A LOT of people alcohol can be the primary reason to why they’re not seeing results. 
If you are going out and you know you are going to be drinking ⤴️increase you protein though out that day. ⤵️ Decrease your fats and carbs so you can save some calories for your booz.

Stick to vodka / diet soda or a glass of wine which will have the least calories… ∙ A traditional pina colada, composed of rum, pineapple juice and cream of coconut can contain as much as 650 calories.
If you do like your cocktails opt for light rum, or substitute unsweetened coconut water for cream of coconut to get more drink for fewer calories.

My choice of drink is definitely vodka soda 🍸. What is yours?

Ingredients
for 4 servings
1 tablespoon oil
salt, to taste
1 lb large chicken breast, cooked and diced (453 g)
2 cups asparagus, cut into 1 1/2-in/38-mm pieces (250 g)
10 oz cherry tomatoes, halved (285 g)
⅔ cup pesto (150 g)
2 cups whole wheat penne, measured dry (200 g)
parsley, for garnish

Preparation
Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet. Toss in the asparagus, season with a bit of salt, and sautée until the begin to soften, about 3 minutes.
Pour on the pesto, pasta, and chicken and stir to combine.
Toss in the cherry tomatoes and give everything a stir to combine and warm through.

Meal Prep Pesto Chicken Pasta By: Joey Firoben and Tasty Ingredients for 4 servings 1 tablespoon oil salt, to taste 1 lb large chicken breast, cooked and diced (453 g) 2 cups asparagus, cut into 1 1/2-in/38-mm pieces (250 g) 10 oz cherry tomatoes, halved (285 g) ⅔ cup pesto (150 g) 2 cups whole wheat penne, measured dry (200 g) parsley, for garnish - Preparation Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet. Toss in the asparagus, season with a bit of salt, and sautée until the begin to soften, about 3 minutes. Pour on the pesto, pasta, and chicken and stir to combine. I get a lot of questions from parents about whether they should sneak veggies into their picky eater’s favorite foods without telling them. Like adding pureed cauliflower into mac n’ cheese but saying it's just plain old mac n' cheese.⠀

Although I can TOTALLY understand how this would be tempting, especially when you are worried about your kiddo's nutrient intake, I don’t recommend it for a few reasons:⠀
⠀
👉First, while it may help get more nutrients into kids in the short term, it doesn’t familiarize them with veggies, nor does it teach them to choose and enjoy veggies for themselves, so there is no long-term benefit.⠀
⠀
👉Second, if and when they discover what you’re doing, they may feel tricked and angry, which can break down their trust in you and in the new foods you offer them down the road.⠀
⠀
👉Unfortunately, this can strengthen and lengthen picky eating tendencies even more 😱⠀

This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t make black bean brownies, zucchini pancakes and carrot muffins and offer them to your picky eaters! I just recommend that when you do, be upfront and honest about the ingredients you use 😊⠀

Ingredients

For Soup

2 tbsp. olive oil

1 large onion

1large red pepper (both chopped)

1/2 tsp. salt

2 cloves garlic

1 jalapeño

1 1-inch piece ginger

2 tsp. ground coriander

1 tsp. ground cumin

2 1/2 lb.  tomatoes (roughly chopped)

2 1/2 c. water

2 pocketless pitas

For Topping

1 tbsp. brown sugar 
2 tbsp.butter or olive oil

2 tbsp. finely shredded unsweetened coconut

2 tbsp. cilantro

Directions

Make soup: Heat large Dutch oven on medium-low. Add olive oil, then onion, red pepper, and salt, and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until tender, 8 to 10 minutes. 
Meanwhile, finely grate garlic, jalapeño, and ginger. Add to onion and cook, stirring, 1 minute. Stir in ground coriander and ground cumin and cook 1 minute.

Add tomatoes and water; increase heat and simmer, partially covered, 10 minutes. While tomatoes are cooking, toast 2 pocketless pitas. 
Using immersion blender (or standard blender, in batches), puree soup until smooth.

Make topping: Combine brown sugar in bowl with butter, finely shredded unsweetened coconut, and cilantro. Spread onto toasted pitas, then cut and serve with soup.

Nutritional Information (per serving): About 325 calories, 16 g fat (6.5 g saturated), 6 g protein, 565 mg sodium, 43 g carb, 7 g fiber

Successful people sharing their ‘morning routines’ has become quite a trend and I’ve tried many of them over the past year.
⠀
What I’ve learned is that instead of copying some millionaire’s routine, we need to create our own routines. It’s like fitness in the sense that there’s no one size that fits all. We are all unique and so we must find what’s best for our lifestyle.
⠀
Some people like getting up earlier and doing a ton of things in the morning; some like to lie in a bit and get more of their work done later in the day.
⠀
Experiment with different routines and tailor your own routine.
⠀
I’m happy that I tried out different strategies and routines because it helped me finally create one that works for me. I’ve personally found planning my day the day before, to be the most impactful. It saves me the stress of planning it in the morning. I wake up the following day knowing exactly what I need to accomplish.
⠀
Before I sleep I’ll write down 3-5 important tasks that need to be accomplished the next day. I don’t write more than 5-6 tasks per day because a day is not enough, and being overwhelmed is counterproductive.
⠀
I also don’t always complete my routine every morning, and that’s fine. Aim to be consistent, not perfect. It’s what you do 80% of the time that matters.

What’s Your Favourite Thing About Your Morning Routine? ⠀ Successful people sharing their ‘morning routines’ has become quite a trend and I’ve tried many of them over the past year. ⠀ What I’ve learned is that instead of copying some millionaire’s routine, we need to create our own routines. It’s like fitness in the sense that there’s no one size that fits all. We are all unique and so we must find what’s best for our lifestyle. ⠀ Some people like getting up earlier and doing a ton of things in the morning; some like to lie in a bit and get more of their work done later in the day. ⠀ Experiment with different routines and tailor your own routine. ⠀ I’m happy that I tried out different strategies and routines because it helped me finally create one that works for me. I’ve personally found planning my day the day before, to be the most impactful. It saves me the stress of planning it in the morning. I wake up the following day knowing exactly what I need to accomplish. ⠀ Before I sleep I’ll write down 3-5 important tasks that need to be accomplished the next day. I don’t write more than 5-6 tasks per day because a day is not enough, and being overwhelmed is counterproductive. ⠀ I also don’t always complete my routine every morning, and that’s fine. Aim to be consistent, not perfect. This easy chicken fritters recipe takes just 30 minutes to make. It's a healthy and delicious Keto recipe, and it's also perfect for meal planning.
~
1.5 lb (700g) skinless boneless chicken breast
2 medium eggs
1/3 cup almond flour
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 Tbsp fresh basil finely chopped
2 Tbsp chives chopped
2 Tbsp parsley chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
a pinch of sea salt and fresh ground black pepper or to taste
1 Tbps olive oil or more to fry
Instructions
Place the chicken breast on a chopping board and using a sharp knife, chop it into tiny pieces, then place them in a large mixing bowl. 
Into the large bowl, stir in almond flour, eggs, mozzarella, basil, chives, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
Heat oil in a large non-stick pan, over medium-low heat. With an ice cream scoop or a large spoon, scoop into the chicken mixture and transfer it to the pan, then slightly flatten to create a fritter. Don't overcrowd the pan, cook the fritters in batches, about 4 per batch.
Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 6-8 minutes. Keep in mind that you need to cook them at medium-low temp, otherwise they will burn on the outside but won't get well cooked on the inside.

I had a few things to use up from the fridge last night and needed a batch cook meal so I had some work lunches for the week. This healthy but creamy pasta dish with lots of greens hit the spot:⁣

300g fresh linguine (I went for @soli from @waitroseandpartners )⁣ ⁣
1/2 bag tenderstem broccoli ⁣
Handful frozen edamame beans ⁣

Shavings of goats cheese ⁣

So simple - I cooked the green veg and the linguine in a pan all together for 5 minutes. Then mixed in the creme fraiche and topped with the goats cheese. ⁣

On a side note tho, I made some almond milk a few days ago and I always save the pulp and try to use it in recipes. Sometimes I dry it and make almond flour, but this time I made these suuuuuper quick and easy Garlic Rosemary Crackers. My husband saw them on the counter, ate one, and said “These are the best crackers known to man.” 😂🤷🏼‍♀️thanks babe. Haha. And for my KETO friends. Garlic Rosemary Almond Crackers
1 cup almond pulp (flour would work)
1 tsp granulated garlic 
1/2 tsp Rosemary 
1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt 
1 tbsp ground flaxseed 
2.5 tbsp water

1. Combine all ingredients until dough forms. 2. Dough will be more sticky, so between two sheets of parchment, roll dough out into 1/4 inch thickness. 3. Cut into squares and on parchment lined baking sheet, bake at 350° for 30 minutes. I sprinkled mine with a bit more rosemary before baking, but that is opt.

To make this I used:
▪️half a red onion
▪️1 red bell pepper
▪️100g natural bacon
▪️6 mushrooms

We chose from the top 10 most popular dishes rated by previous customers on 点评 and needless to say the most popular choice (八珍海皇卷) was the BEST. It tasted like a better version if Seaweed Chicken and my non-veg friend will gladly testify to that ~ 
The food was not as greasy and salty as most food in China and we were very grateful for that 😩🙏🏻 The other two dishes we got were the 麻辣香锅(of course) and 荷塘月色. The dishes on the menu had such poetic names and the ambience was a solid 10/10!
I'll finish editing the photos I took on my trip and post them on VSCO as soon as possible for it to be a lil place to journal and I hope I'll be able to share with you the beautiful scenic views I got to see.

The spoon is aggressively in the centre of the photo and it annoys the crap out of me... But I am so glad we got to try authentic vege food in Shanghai! ​▫1 tbsp peanut butter (optional) ⁣⁣⁣
​▫1 tsp vanilla extract ⁣⁣⁣
​▫2 eggs ⁣⁣⁣
​▫1/2 cup defrosted frozen raspberries ⁣⁣⁣
​▫1/2 tsp chia seeds⁣⁣⁣

METHOD:⁣⁣⁣

​1️⃣ Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. And then grease and line a square pan⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣ Blend oats and protein together in a food processor⁣⁣⁣
3️⃣ In large bowl combine oat and protein mixture, salt, baking soda and stir to combine⁣⁣⁣
4️⃣ To dry ingredients add yoghurt, maple syrup, water, pb, vanilla extract and eggs⁣⁣⁣
5️⃣ Stir well to combine⁣⁣⁣
6️⃣ Evenly spread batter into the prepared pan and sit to the side⁣⁣⁣
7️⃣ In food processor or blender, blend the defrosted raspberries with juices and water that comes off until a smooth jam like consistency is formed⁣⁣⁣
8️⃣ Add the raspberry jam to the top of the mixture evenly and swirl⁣⁣⁣
9️⃣ And then sprinkle with white choc chips⁣⁣⁣
1️⃣0️⃣ Bake for 20 minutes or until edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Then let cool in the pan and cut into squares⁣⁣⁣

NOTE! ⚠ For a more fudgey consistency, bake for 15 minutes and leave it gooey in the centre. Then remove from the oven until it cools and sets 🤤🙌⁣⁣⁣

Les cuento que es originaria del estado de Tlaxcala y su nombre le es dado porque todos sus ingredientes los encuentras en la milpa, la combinación es deliciosa, el olor es exquisito y el sabor es super hogareño.
Es un poquito más elaborada que cualquier otro de los platillos que pueden encontrar aquí, pero vale la pena 100%!!
De esta receta salen 8 porciones aproximadamente, así que puedes compartirla con tu familia.
Ingredientes:
• 1/2 cebolla picada.
• 1 diente de ajo picado, puedes usar el que venden en frasco.
• 2 elotes desgranados.🌽
• 1 taza de rajas de poblano, puedes usar el que venden congelado.
• 1 calabacín en cubitos.
• 2 tazas de hongos en rebanadas, pueden ser champiñones, yo usé cremini.🍄
• 1 rama de epazote lavado.🌿
• 1 manojo de flores de calabaza limpias.🌼
• 1 chorrito de aceite de aguacate.🥑
• 1.5 litros de caldo de verduras o pollo.
• Sal al gusto.🧂

🥣 En una olla pon la cebolla con un chorrito de aceite de aguacate.
Cuando ya esté acitronada agrega el ajo picado y mueve unos segundos.
Inmediatamente agrega los granos de elote y mueve.
Tapa la olla y deja que se cocinen los elotes unos minutos moviendo cada dos minutos.
Cuando ya esté tierno el elote, agrega las rajas de poblano y deja cocinar unos minutos moviendo.
Agrega el calabacín, en este momento agrega sal al gusto y revuelve bien, tapa la olla y deja que se cocine la calabaza unos minutos.
Agrega los hongos e inmediatamente el caldo de verduras o pollo.
Mueve bien para despegar lo que haya quedado en el fondo.
Tapa y después de 5 minutos rectifica el sazón.
Agrega la rama de epazote, revuelve y tapa.
Deja que hierva y apaga el fuego.
Agrega la flor de calabaza.
Revuelve.
Sirve y disfruta.🍲

Tip:
Es muy importante lavar bien las flores y quitarles el pistilo para que el polen no amargue.🌼
NO LAS DESINFECTES porque se queman, con el chorro de agua es suficiente.

I made @birchbenders protein pancakes for the first time tonight and added some fresh blueberries to the mix. I topped it with a tablespoon of @simpletruth4u plain maple syrup (if I don’t measure it out I pour way too much 😜) and some more fresh blueberries and banana slices, with a side of scrambled eggs. My favorite bacon right now is the @oscarmayer Natural bacon. I have also recently started cooking bacon in the oven. It’s so easy! You put some parchment paper on a baking sheet and spread the bacon out lengthwise. Bake at 400F for about 15 minutes (depending on how crispy you like it) This is such a less messy way to cook bacon 🤗

healthyfoodinspo I’ve eaten maybe one wrap/burrito at a restaurant in over 10 years (it was in Denver at @theproteinbar; I remember the day oddly enough) and this makes number ✌🏼. It’s hard for me step outside my comfort zone when I don’t know what the ingredients are and since most restaurants aren’t making their own wraps, they’d have to find a package to check them which feels like a huge PITA so I just avoid asking. 😕 Honestly, I have a shit ton of food fears even now, though I’ve gotten a LOT better within the last couple years, so that’s why I go to @thesanctumcafe so often: it’s a place I feel like I can trust and try new things. That’s so rare for me, sadly. So, now you know why I get excited about driving an hour just to eat there. 😉
