What you need: 1 lb cauliflower small florets, 1 can of chickpeas drained, rinsed, & dried, 1 tsp each of cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, turmeric, coriander, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/4 tsp each of cinnamon, ginger powder, black pepper, 1/8 tsp of cayenne, 1/4 cup olive oil, juice of 1/2 lemon Tzatziki Sauce: 1 cup non dairy plain yogurt, juice of 1/2 lemon, 2 garlic cloves minced, 1 tbl of fresh dill ( sub dried dill weed to taste), 1 mini cucumber grated with water squeezed out using kitchen towel, s/p to taste
1️⃣ In a medium bowl combine chickpeas & cauliflower. 
2️⃣ In a small bowl combine spices, oil, and lemon mix well
3️⃣ Pour mix over veggies till everything is coated
4️⃣ On a parchment lined large baking sheet, roast chickpeas & cauliflower at 425 F for 25-30 Rotating and flipping half way through
6️⃣ Meanwhile, make tzatziki sauce, combine all ingredients, mix well
7️⃣ Wrap up in your favorite wrap style bread (I used pita) drizzle with tzatziki sauce. I also added pickled red onions, cucumbers, pickles, hummus, & some parsley 😋😋😋💚💚💚 __________

I had my two hardest courses final exams yesterday morning, and to be honest, they both were really hard. for the rest of the day, I was feeling down and just angry at myself because I know I didn’t do as well as I wanted on each of them. I had to remind myself that I am trying my best, and at the end of the day, that’s all I can do! definitely easier said than done, and although we can’t control a lot in life, we do have power over how much energy and effort we put into things, and how we react to situations. guthealth REDUCE EXPOSURE TO TOXINS IN FOOD⠀

Unfortunately, we are exposed to multiple toxins that are found in our foods every single day. Whether they are pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, or heavy metals, one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our bodies is to avoid these contaminated food products. ⠀
⠀
One study put a family on a diet of conventionally grown food for one week, followed by two weeks on organic foods. When researchers tested the family members’ urine for chemicals, they found that “concentrations of selected pesticides decreased by 95% when the family switched to organic food.”⠀
⠀
Ideally, we should all be eating organic food, but that is not always financially possible.⠀
⠀
This is where the dirty dozen list comes in. These are the foods that were found to have the highest levels of pesticides on them. I highly recommend that if you can’t go all out organic, at least buy organic when you are purchasing foods found on the dirty dozen list to limit your exposure to toxins. ⠀
⠀
On the flip side, the Clean 15 are foods that aren’t so heavily sprayed, so buying these foods are relatively safe, even when they aren’t organic. ⠀
⠀
For meat, it’s best to get organic, grass fed as much as possible.⠀
⠀
For fish, stick to the SMASH fish. This stands for sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, and herring. They contain the least about of heavy metal toxicity to them. ⠀

REDUCE EXPOSURE TO TOXINS IN FOOD⠀ ⠀ Unfortunately, we are exposed to multiple toxins that are found in our foods every single day. Whether they are pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, or heavy metals, one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our bodies is to avoid these contaminated food products. ⠀ ⠀ One study put a family on a diet of conventionally grown food for one week, followed by two weeks on organic foods. When researchers tested the family members’ urine for chemicals, they found that “concentrations of selected pesticides decreased by 95% when the family switched to organic food.”⠀ ⠀ Ideally, we should all be eating organic food, but that is not always financially possible.⠀ ⠀ This is where the dirty dozen list comes in. These are the foods that were found to have the highest levels of pesticides on them. I highly recommend that if you can’t go all out organic, at least buy organic when you are purchasing foods found on the dirty dozen list to limit your exposure to toxins. ⠀ ⠀ On the flip side, the Clean 15 are foods that aren’t so heavily sprayed, so buying these foods are relatively safe, even when they aren’t organic. ⠀ ⠀ For meat, it’s best to get organic, grass fed as much as possible.⠀ ⠀ For fish, stick to the SMASH fish. This stands for sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, and herring. They contain the least about of heavy metal toxicity to them. ⠀ ⠀ God bless

guthealth Countdown is on to summer holidays! 🙌
The silly season is in full swing so some little things we’ve been doing to stay sane are;
🖤 Ordered most of our Christmas shopping online from stores like @themarket.nz @farmersnz @torpedo7 and some cute local handmade pottery from @hellohappy.co which has meant we’ve avoided over shopping and the list has been really targeted. Not to mention made most of the sales/discount codes! 🖤 When dining out I’ve requested restaurants to take away everything the dish is typically served with and asked for simply steak/fish and green vegetables instead (DF/GF/Citrus free) and it works a treat! 🖤 Prioritised exercise
🖤 Said no to events, trying to keep it to one-two nights out a week to prioritise sleep for both me and my family (not always possible), but sleep keeps us sane! 🖤 Lots of protein, vegetables and fats in the fridge for meals including snacks. We’ve also been using the pressure/slow cooker for prepping protein when out at commitments. 🖤 Consciously organising quiet time at home for everyone. .
In saying all of the above, the kids are pretty tired and we are all ready for some fun carefree time in the sun!

Creamy Cannellini Bean & Rosemary Soup
• 1 - 29 oz can cannellini beans*
• 32oz bone, chicken or veg broth
• 4 cloves minced garlic
• 1 chopped onion
• 1/2 tsp+ sea salt
• 1/2 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
• 1 T avocado oil
• EVOO
.
1 - Sauté chopped onion in avo oil for about 5 mins, add chopped garlic and sauté 1 min more. 
2 - Add beans, with liquid in can, along with broth and spices.
3 - Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for approx 20 mins, stirring occasionally. 
4 - Turn off heat. Use an immersion blender to blend up soup, leaving some of the beans and onion pieces intake. 
5 - Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. 
6 - Serve each bowl drizzled with EVOO. (I also think a dollop of yogurt might be good too.)

*My fave canned beans are by @edenfoods as they are #organic in a #bpafree can and created with kombu seaweed, a great source of #iodine for #thyroidhealth 👌🏻 When kombu is used to cook beans, it makes them easier to digest. .
Beans are a good source of fiber. More fiber = better health. American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society all recommend including beans/legumes in your diet to prevent disease and optimize health.

10 years ago I was tired, wired & inflamed. I'm not surprised there's a wine glass in the picture, because to me, that was my idea of self care & decompressing. I jump started my poor body several times a day with caffeine, sugar & carbs. I woke up tired and my body always felt achy & weak. A year after that picture, my hormones, gut & emotional health collapsed. I had the body of a 50 year old & entered perimenopause 15 years earlier ⏳😢🙈👵⏰

This is PRECISELY why I love what I do! Joy’s testimony is absolutely incredible: "It's time for my "Pleximony!" I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, POTS (a heart condition) Interstitial Cystitis, Migraines, Anxiety, Depression, Bursitis, Severe IBS and Endometriosis. I had a hysterectomy at age 30, was on Percocet, muscle relaxers, anxiety and depression meds! I could hardly function on a daily basis! I started Plexus 3 months ago! I am off my Percocet, weaning off my depression meds first then I'll start my anxiety meds then my muscle relaxers because I don't need any of them anymore! My pain is down 90%!! So far I have only had 1 migraine but have had no IBS symptoms, no bladder pain, no chest pain or fainting from my pots, no more anxiety or depression, no fibro flair ups and Osteoarthritis pain is gone!
