Creamy zoodles + crispy cauliflower gnocchi always make a dream team duo ✨😍. Paired them with pan-seared spicy garlic shrimp for a simple + satisfying dinner that totally hit the spot tonight 🍽🥰.
whatsonmyplate: CREAMY ZOODLES WITH GARLIC CHEESE SAUCE: in a blender, combine 1/2 cup @kitehillfoods regular cream cheese (can sub kite hill chive cream cheese or regular cream cheese) + 1/4 cup goat cheese crumbles (optional) 1/4 cup almond milk + 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder + salt & pepper to taste; blend until smooth 🌪) •• SPICY GARLIC SHRIMP 🍤: in a pan, heat 1 tablespoon @fourthandheart garlic ghee. While ghee is heating, season 1/2 pound wild-caught shrimp (fresh or frozen work well, but if you use frozen, make sure they’re completely thawed). Add shrimp to pan, and sauté 3-4 minutes per side •• CRISPY CAULIFLOWER GNOCCHI (there’s a tutorial for this in my story highlights).

Let's talk Gut Health
The #gut has been known to be called our second brain
Our bodies are loaded with trillions of #bacteria
They help digest food and play a big role in our well being
Did you know that the mix of bacteria in your body is different from everyone else's?
Your mix is partly determined by your mother's mix, your environment at birth and partly from diet and lifestyle .
This bacteria affects your #metabolism, #mood and #immune system .
So if your gut bacteria is off guess what? You are off....
What can you do to keep your gut happy you ask?
1- Eat a nutritious diet high in fiber with lots of fruit and veg.
Choose Prebiotic rich foods such as oats, beans, spinach, garlic, onion, dandelion and more
Choose probiotic foods such as sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, kefir, water and more .
2- Limit your use of antibiotics as they kill off the bad as well as the good bacteria
3- Exercise helps keep you strong and healthy which keeps your gut healthy
If necessary, take a probiotic .
Decrease sugar and refined Carbs
Bottom line....the health of our gut can directly impact the #health of the rest of our body
Your body knows how to regulate itself and if you give it a solid foundation it will automatically create an environment that leads to health and wellness in the rest of your body

REDUCE EXPOSURE TO TOXINS IN FOOD⠀
Unfortunately, we are exposed to multiple toxins that are found in our foods every single day. Whether they are pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, or heavy metals, one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our bodies is to avoid these contaminated food products. ⠀
One study put a family on a diet of conventionally grown food for one week, followed by two weeks on organic foods. When researchers tested the family members’ urine for chemicals, they found that “concentrations of selected pesticides decreased by 95% when the family switched to organic food.”⠀
Ideally, we should all be eating organic food, but that is not always financially possible.⠀
This is where the dirty dozen list comes in. These are the foods that were found to have the highest levels of pesticides on them. I highly recommend that if you can’t go all out organic, at least buy organic when you are purchasing foods found on the dirty dozen list to limit your exposure to toxins. ⠀
On the flip side, the Clean 15 are foods that aren’t so heavily sprayed, so buying these foods are relatively safe, even when they aren’t organic. ⠀
For meat, it’s best to get organic, grass fed as much as possible.⠀
For fish, stick to the SMASH fish. This stands for sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, and herring. They contain the least about of heavy metal toxicity to them. ⠀

#repost from our Inspired Health Nurse Practitioner, Michelle Hirschy-Baker FNP-C ✨ @michelles_braveandhealthy • • • So what is #leakygut you ask? Our bodies are exposed to so many triggers on a daily basis: Stress, toxins, processed & low nutrient foods, antibiotics, gut viruses or bacteria (think that raging case of food poisoning or stomach flu 🤢)medications that alter our digestion (antacids, proton pump inhibitors) or food sensitivities/allergies we don’t realize we have. The lining of our gut is only 1 cell thick, incredible! Eventually this amazing barrier system can no longer handle the assault and it breaks down… as in LEAKS. Imagine the amount of tiny food particles, viruses/bacteria, nutrients, toxins, medications, etc that our gut would normally be flushing out of our system via our poop is now LEAKING into our bodies. Yep- yikes 🧟♂️! When our body is exposed to the leakage, our immune system kicks in as it recognizes foreign objects and wants to protect us. Imagine now this process happens for some time- eventually our immune system is producing a constant response and becomes overreactive (maybe like you with that person you’ve had to repeat yourself to 100 times 😡😏) This can then lead to #autoimmune response because our system has been overstimulated and inflammatory chemicals are floating furiously through our bloodstream. Thus- you may see the symptoms in the picture above. But wait! Leaky gut can be tested for and HEALED! YES! Now ideally, managing your #guthealth BEFORE you develop an autoimmune response is a much better option. Take an inventory: **Stress levels? **Reduce #toxins: parabens in body products, household cleaning products with a list of ingredients a mile long, pesticides like glyphosate (round-up) in wines, on produce, on grains—think purchase organic to minimize exposure
__ **If you struggle with digestive issues- schedule an appointment with a #functionalmedicine provider to get to the root cause.
— **Know your body: consider basic food sensitivity and allergy testing to make sure you body approves of the common triggers such as gluten, dairy, corn, nuts, eggs- to name a few

Countdown is on to summer holidays! 🙌
The silly season is in full swing so some little things we’ve been doing to stay sane are;
🖤 Ordered most of our Christmas shopping online from stores like @themarket.nz @farmersnz@torpedo7 and some cute local handmade pottery from @hellohappy.co which has meant we’ve avoided over shopping and the list has been really targeted. Not to mention made most of the sales/discount codes! 🖤 When dining out I’ve requested restaurants to take away everything the dish is typically served with and asked for simply steak/fish and green vegetables instead (DF/GF/Citrus free) and it works a treat! 🖤 Prioritised exercise
🖤 Said no to events, trying to keep it to one-two nights out a week to prioritise sleep for both me and my family (not always possible), but sleep keeps us sane! 🖤 Lots of protein, vegetables and fats in the fridge for meals including snacks. We’ve also been using the pressure/slow cooker for prepping protein when out at commitments. 🖤 Consciously organising quiet time at home for everyone. .
In saying all of the above, the kids are pretty tired and we are all ready for some fun carefree time in the sun!
Bring on the final countdown to holidays 🤩
Mom may have given me her recipe for pickled daikon, but I improved on the method to make it in a giant mason jar! 😀 Spin the jar on its side a couple of times a day, and the contents are thoroughly coated for the pickling process. Homemade probiotic foods are so easy to make, and for those who can have them, it’s food as medicine for the gut. Recipe is on the blog at myallergyadvocate.com.

No, I didn't flip the pictures. I'm younger now ❤🕰👶👧🤗🕒
Consider this in January when asking yourself whether to join my Transformation or go on a diet & kill yourself at the gym🤷♀️❓
I can't answer that question for you. But I will share my experience. This pictures have #nofilter. They're almost 10 years appart. One was taken a year before my deepest burnout stage and the other a month ago. I've never posted before & after pics. I'm shocked to see them! 🤯🤯🤯
10 years ago I was tired, wired & inflamed. I'm not surprised there's a wine glass in the picture, because to me, that was my idea of self care & decompressing. I jump started my poor body several times a day with caffeine, sugar & carbs. I woke up tired and my body always felt achy & weak. A year after that picture, my hormones, gut & emotional health collapsed. I had the body of a 50 year old & entered perimenopause 15 years earlier ⏳😢🙈👵⏰
Fast forward 2 years. I found super foods & did my 1st transformation 🌿🌿. By then I was much better but I still had night sweats and couldn't develop muscle tone. I also was still more anxious than I wanted; a new health coach trying to build a business without experience 👉👈☝️👇 ⛔
My transformation delivered strength, energy, near perfect digestion, clear eyes, good skin & hair plus muscle tone I'd never dreamed of having. But the best things was no night sweats!plus clarity of mind, focus and calm that I have cherished ever since 🌿❤💃
Starting on Jan 4th I'll guide a beautiful group on another 40 Day transformation. I will do it with them because I've never stopped eating this #foodmedicine & that's why I look and feel 10 years younger. If you want vitality, clarity & a younger body consider joining us. I will give you all the love & expertise I have & together we will transform at the celular lever, not just for January but for the long haul 🧘♀️💥💪🎆🎊
Gut health is a hot topic and understanding the importance of your microbiome balance ("the second brain") can help you know which foods feed your gut and which can starve your gut. One of the most important organs in your body is your gut because it is our immune systems. Next Tuesday, I will be presenting a video from Dr. Mitra Ray on gut health. She is a scientist, author and researcher working with the National Institute for Health, American Cancer Society and the with an Alzheimer's Research Grant. If you live locally, please RSVP to attend this informative presentation. #Guthealth#DrRay#FeedyourMicrobiome#NutritionCoach#LoseWeight
Can you tell I like tofu????
It’s so versatile, you can cook it in ANYTHING and it tastes good😂 I just love the texture🤷🏼♀️ anything that’s high in protein ticks my box.
I always like to top my food with whatever seed I should be having at the time in my cycle (pumpkin and flaxseed day 1-14, sesame and sunflower day 15-28). It’s a simple way to aid hormone balance😇
This is PRECISELY why I love what I do!
Joy’s testimony is absolutely incredible: "It's time for my "Pleximony!" I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, POTS (a heart condition) Interstitial Cystitis, Migraines, Anxiety, Depression, Bursitis, Severe IBS and Endometriosis. I had a hysterectomy at age 30, was on Percocet, muscle relaxers, anxiety and depression meds! I could hardly function on a daily basis!
I started Plexus 3 months ago! I am off my Percocet, weaning off my depression meds first then I'll start my anxiety meds then my muscle relaxers because I don't need any of them anymore! My pain is down 90%!! So far I have only had 1 migraine but have had no IBS symptoms, no bladder pain, no chest pain or fainting from my pots, no more anxiety or depression, no fibro flair ups and Osteoarthritis pain is gone! I have energy to do the things I want to do now! I don't have to take naps anymore, which is something I did every day just to get through the day! My joint pain is gone! I haven't even seen a Dr. in the 3 months I've been on Plexus which I would go at least 2x a month! I've lost 13lbs, countless inches and I'm down 3 pant sizes BUT, most of all, I have HOPE again! I can keep up with my 4 kids! I am excited to start working again which I haven't been able to do in 2 years because of the fatigue and pain! I feel like a teenager again! When you live with a disease that no one else can see they don't understand how hard life is!! I'm so blessed to have finally found something to help! I preach Plexus!! I wish I would have started sooner! I had given up hope that anything would help but Plexus did! I'm still in awe everyday, waking up pain free! I take Triplex and XFactor!" #bloodsugar#guthealth#inflammation#healing#rootcause#healthy#happy#whole

Do you or somebody you love suffer from chronic back pain?
Did you know that chronic pain is actually stemmed from an unhealthy gut?
Believe it. It's true!
Millions of people take pain medications and undergo surgeries and extensive rehabilitation programs for back pain, the cause of so much suffering and prolonged absences from work. 👉🏻It turns out, though, that repairing the gut can put an end to many cases of back pain.
The gut pushes against neighboring abdominal organs including the kidney's, liver, ovaries, and uterus-causing dysfunctions of different degrees by reducing circulation in those organs-and the vertebrae and its emerging nerves.
2 of the most common surgeries today are: removal of the gallbladder, and hysterectomies due to systemic inflammation caused by poor gut health. Plus, inflammation in the gut causes the diaphragm to push up, thus compressing the lungs and stomach. Acid reflux could merely be avoided if the gut was healthy.
To compensate for all this increased pressure, the body readjusts its posture.
The result is back pain in all of its varying forms, each related to the specific ways in which an individual's body realigns to cope with how the engorged gut is affecting different organs.
A healthy gut means a healthy back! #guthealth#guthealthmatters #helpforbackpain

I wouldn't be balanced, full of energy, patient, supermom, and just generally ready to take on this Friday without my favorite drink 😍
This is especially for my ladies. .
Sometimes you have to do things that are right. That feel right in your gut but may not be what someone wants to hear.
It’s been such a difficult process to try to stick to my guns on what I believe is right. It takes maturity to eat, live, say, do the things you feel are right but not “likeable”.
I mean who doesn’t want to be “likable” ? —especially as a woman.
For example I love being out there social media —because people are going to dislike you no matter what. There’s no way you can make everyone happy. It’s a great exercise for me. I urge you to do things that bring criticism. It’s like building a muscle.
Ps 👋🏽Happy Friday in the bio I put a link for a special class I’m doing next Thursday evening just one hour but we’re going to cover the 3 secrets for gut/hormone and immune health. Some products I love and also rapidfire questions. I like to go deep dive sometimes since there’s not enough space here 😂 [link in bio]
I also have a great pre holiday weekend! Now I have to go frantically buy gifts after work 🏃🏾♀️😂 #lastminuteshopping .

Does your digestion go haywire over the holidays? 🙃 Do you maaaybe go a bit overboard on cookies, cocktails, and coffee? 🙋♀️ If you’re saying “uhmm YES,” get your digestion back on track by eating more of these foods daily:
🥛 Probiotic foods can help ease specific digestive concerns, like IBS and diarrhea, and even boost immunity. Eat more: yogurt, kefir, and miso
🥑 Healthy fats and oils aid appetite control. Try to combine some fat with complex carbs and protein at each meal. Eat more: wild-caught salmon, coconut oil, nuts, and seeds
🥦 High-fiber foods help move waste through your body. Eat more: oat bran, legumes, wheat brain, whole grains, and veggies
🥶 Brrr! winter is here which means our bodies and specifically, our immune system needs a little extra care. Learn, How to Improve Your #Immunity this Winter ❄️ through the blog post in the #biolink for some #simplehabits and #foods that can better support you and your family through cold and flu season this year 💙
I thought long and hard about putting some Christmas stuff up in my office. I changed my mind about five times.
I didn’t want anything to feel triggering, pressuring (“this is obviously supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year”), or in any way off-putting for my clients who carry heavy stories through the holidays.
I ended up adding a few simple decorations, landing on this truth: It’s okay for good things to feel good, and to celebrate those good feelings. It’s okay to lean into joy, even in the presence of someone hurting - as long as you let them know you see them, hear them, and value that their experience is different.
Let them know they are not forgotten, wrong, or broken. Do this while not forgetting *your* joy, feeling wrong, or feeling broken yourself.
This is true empathy: Experiencing someone else’s story without losing your own. 🌿

You’ve probably hear the phrase “you are what you eat”. But the real real is that you are what you digest.
All of the supplements + green juices in the world won’t be able to help if you aren’t properly absorbing + assimilating the nutrients in them. AKA your good, well-intentioned work if going to waste.
How does this happen? Poor gut health.
Think about it - how do we get all of the nutrients that we need to survive? It’s through the food that we eat. We need food to survive (and thrive).
But what if our bodies aren’t digesting + absorbing these nutrients? Then we’re out of luck. We have to optimize our gut health in order to “feed” the rest of your body - skin, hair, nails, bones, immune system, all of it.
WHY WE DON’T ABSORB PROPERLY:
1. Eating inflammatory foods/food sensitivities
2. Leaky gut
3. Gut infections - candida, parasites, SIBO, etc.
4. Lack of enzymes and/or HCL (this can come from a poor diet, restrictive dieting, too much stress)
WHAT TO DO:
1. Heal your gut. Do a full comprehensive gut reset. Need help? Shoot me a DM.
2. Add in digestive enzymes + HCL.
3. Take out a few common food sensitivities.
4. Add in digestive bitters - this helps stoke your digestive fire and cuts down on indigestion, gas, and bloating.
I’ve partnered with my dear friend Geraldine of @suntrapbotanical + we are giving way a copy of the HAN Cookbook + a bottle of her custom Digestive Bitters so you can enjoy your meals, without any of the negative digestive symptoms. Check out my last post to be entered to win! ✨✨
Questions? Ask them below! 💫
PS! We’re also a lot of other things too, like our love, devotion, kindness, spirits, etc. BUT on a physical level, the food that we eat are the building blocks for our cell. Don’t take it lightly. 😉

If you’re trying the Keto Diet then you know it is quite restrictive. Some people find it difficult to get adequate nutrition each day while on this diet. It’s important to do some research beforehand and know exactly what you should and shouldn’t eat.⠀
Unfortunately, not getting enough nutrition can cause even more problems if your gut microbiome is already out of shape.⠀
You need helpful bacteria from probiotics to aid the absorption of nutrients in your gut. An imbalanced microbiome can reduce the amount of nutrients that your body can extract from food.⠀
Some strains of bacteria even create the vitamins that your body needs to carry out its many functions. Some B vitamins and Vitamin K are in fact made in the gut!

Follow along on this three part mini series on Probiotic Basics.
Part 1: Benefits of Probiotics
Part 2: Understanding the Labels & Strains with Probiotics
Part 3: Choosing a Probiotic
Probiotics contain ‘live’ microorganisms that aids in getting the gut back to a normal, healthy state when taken in sufficient amounts. They help protect against infections by inhibiting growth of bad gut bacteria. Some probiotics have been known to boost immune cells IgA and T-Lymphocytes.
Probiotics improves the friendly gut bacteria by replenishing the good bacteria that is destroyed my medications, antibiotics , illness or poor diet. .
Helps manage digestion and weight by helping the gut feel fuller longer, burns calories and prevents storage of fats. Some probiotics can be linked to weight gain, so it’s important to determine which probiotic is right for you.
Some probiotics are tailored to help with heart health by lowering the “bad” LDL cholesterol and modestly lowering blood pressure.
Probiotics have been known to decreases inflammation and inflammatory markers including CRP inflammatory levels according to studies completed in autoimmune arthritic patients.
Studies have shown that the use of probiotics significantly reduces the severity of eczema in children. It has also show benefit in allergies with things like milk and diary, however, more research is needed in this area.
Helps to reduce symptoms of bowel disorders like IBS, ulcerative colitis and necrotizing enterocolitis. The first few days of starting a probiotic you many experience a change in the gut and looser stool, but this should be temporary lasting only a few days. .
Improves mental health, anxiety and depression due to the gut-brain connection. Several studies have shown improvement in levels of anxiety & depression, memory among other things and a reduction in inflammatory levels. Many studies are being done about this and the connection between the gut and brain.
Of course, always consult your medical doctor before starting a probiotic. Although, it is replenishing microorganisms that are normally in the gut, certain people may have a reaction to the probiotic.

We've all heard of probiotics, but have you heard about prebiotics? All those tiny helpful living microorganims need food. Prebiotics are usually types of dietary fiber that feed the friendly bacteria in your gut. Their degradation products are short-chain fatty acids that are released into blood circulation, consequently, affecting not only the gastrointestinal tracts but also other organs. Both pre and probiotics are crucial to gut health and achieving a healthy mind, digestion and body!

“You can’t be brave unless you were scared first.” @judiholler
Let me ask you...are you like many of my clients where you not only struggle with fatigue & forgetfulness & anxiety or depression but also battle with low-confidence and fear??
Many of you describe this as a dark cloud hovering over you that leaves you wanting to stay buried under your covers most of the day. It robs you of time with people. It robs you of the joy of saying yes to life’s adventures. It robs you of productivity.
For years I believed being tired, scatterbrained, socially-awkward, anxious, and lacking self-esteem was just “who I was.”
This is exactly why I integrate an entire component of self-growth into my 8-week Academy. Yes healing your body & brain with food is a HUGE part of the equation, and what we tackle first, but it must be coupled with a lifestyle that empowers you to become confident to face your fears & get out of the bubble you’ve been hiding in🏄♀️⛷
I’ve watched students get promotions, hike their first 14k foot mountains, learn to ski, start businesses, and so much more through the curriculum we teach.

I usually post about mindset, food and fitness but I felt pulled to share and Discuss this on a deeper level bc Relationships are everything. Platonic or not!
Most the women I coach are either seeking a serious healthy relationship or having issues in their current relationship.
Relationships Are a union that are meant to inspire and strengthen both people. A strong relationship and partner will allow you to feel safe, encourage your growth and expand you.
So many of you are Powerful AF, but when it comes to dating.. you lose or abandon yourself in the relationship. I know Bc I’ve been there too many times.
Take time to get to know a man before you give it all away. Especially if you have a big vision and goals. Lots of guys know how to talk, but are not in tune with their feminine energy and uncomfortable with growth.
This will leave you constantly reassuring him, taking on the masculine roles and feeling unsafe/repressed/disconnected and tired.
Get to know yourself on a deeper level. Have hobbies, passions, practice building confidence and understand what it means to be connected to your feminine energy.
Masculine energy is beautiful and necessary for certain parts of life, but a person who only operates In the masculine is not connected to themselves or spirit.
🍆Don’t let good dick confuse you! Sex is important, but a lasting relationship is built on emotional and spiritual intimacy. Think of a triangle and all the pieces in balance. Plus a man connected to his feminine can lay it down like no other and allow you to express yourself freely. 👅👄🤤
Your body, health/wellness,relationships,
And finances are all connected!
Can you relate?? What are your thoughts?
