fitmomgoals It has taken me literally all day to get my workout in. Round 1 was during Connor’s non-nap (he rolled around the crib), round 2 happened after I dropped him off at my parents’ house before leaving for work, and round 3 + cardio wasn’t until after Connor went to bed tonight.

Gosh, I have wanted to give up today. I mean, I did eat some Oreos at work sooo I kind of did. Things have just kind of snowballed today, and I need to get control back.

So I texted my health coach, @brandonhcastro , and he said when he cheats, it’s because his goals aren’t clear. Funny how this week’s assignment was to make a vision board... that’s exactly what I need right now.

I don’t give you near as much credit as I should. But I wanted to give you some hollaaaaaaa shout out today because well honestly you let me sleep in. #husbandgoals •

You have supported me in EVERY aspect and decision I’ve ever made. Even when it probably wasn’t the smartest thing, you trusted my judgment and rolled with the punches. •

When I told you I wanted to become a coach, you never said that’s dumb. You said you can do it babea. Change those lives. •

When my mornings are spent working out instead of doing wifely duties, you never make me feel guilty. Instead you come in and cheer me on and at the end you make sure my coffee is hot and my day has started right. •

My phone is ALWAYS attached to my hand as of late, always answering messages from clients or potential coaches. You never say a word. Just okay babe. Do what you need to! •

Do we argue? KNOCK DOWN DRAGOUTS YALL. I like to think it’s because we are still so passionate😂We scream, we walk away, we say stupid shit we don’t mean....but we ALWAYS come back. We always say sorry. •

You may very well be my biggest pain in the ass. But you are FOR SURE my biggest supporter! Marriage is HARD. But just like anything else that’s hard WE SHOW UP! DAILY!

Ya doesn’t seem like a big thing but here’s the thing....

I COMMITTED to these 5 things for 30 days and I didn’t quit on myself which as a wife, mom, nurse it’s far too easy to do!

The 5 things: (thank you @msrachelhollis & @mrdavehollis for this challenge) #risexminn #5tothrivechallenge 
1️⃣ wake up - an hour early
2️⃣ workout - for 30 minutes
3️⃣ water - half your body weight in ounces
4️⃣ food - give up one food item or category
5️⃣ gratitude - write out 5 things I’m grateful for

You see 4 of these things I’ve got down 👊🏼

But 1 was my challenge and the thing I COMMITTED to!

I decided to give up grains - - ->>> bread, pasta, crackers, waffles buuuutttt the biggy- - ->>> POPCORN

Y’all know my popcorn love! So I knew I needed to challenge myself and ya know what.....

It wasn’t so damn hard like I thought it would be! 🙌🏼

When you are determined to prove to yourself you can do it, you fight for it, even when it’s simply not eating something cuz saying no to food (especially food you love) is TOUGH!!!

You have to challenge yourself! You have to battle through the challenge cuz it won’t be easy! And if you feel you are slipping, you reach out to your accountability partner (don’t have one....🙋🏻‍♀️ you do now!), & you frikin reach deep inside to find that WHY

I’m stoked that I was able to stay COMMITTED to this cuz I reminded myself that I can do tough to me things and I’m 💯 ready to COMMIT to my newest program!

fitmomgoals I understand that making a commitment to something when you’re not fully confident in yourself to see it through. I was one of those people. I always considered doing different things and sometimes I would try and would fail. Hell I wasn’t even positive that I would be able to complete my first 60 day program because in that season of life I was a single mom taking care of two babies under 2. I doubted myself from the beginning! 
However instead of focusing on the end I decided to take it one day at a time. Sure I missed a few workouts and my nutrition fluctuated but I pride myself in doing something that I have never done before was push through the hard for ME! 
Now with all the twists and turns I’ve experienced I’ve been able to turn it into a lifestyle. It’s something that My body and mind craves daily. 
I know if you decide to take it one day at a time you can also find your way to living a healthful life and I would love to help you!

fitmomgoals Where would you be in 1 year if you just started today?  This sweet girl reached out to me one year ago. And since then, everything has changed for her! .

In the picture on the left she’s at a conference that she attends every year. While she was there she reached out to me and signed up for her online gym membership. She was trying to figure out how to make workouts happen when she traveled and how she would eat well while facing conference happy hours, restaurants and receptions. Where would you be in 1 year if you just started today? This sweet girl reached out to me one year ago. And since then, everything has changed for her! . . In the picture on the left she’s at a conference that she attends every year. While she was there she reached out to me and signed up for her online gym membership. I legit wore my towel on my head the whole hour drive to work today. My hair is super long and thick and if I blow dry it without straightening people will think I’m the star of the new #lionking movie.  And I did not want to show up to work with a wet head + a wet shirt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m sure people passing me thought I was insane. But IDGAF. Because I did what I had to do to make sure I got my workout in this morning, got dinner going in the crock pot so my family will be fed tonight, and got my ass to work.  I woke up late and coulda skipped working out. Then I could have gotten home and got busy and skipped my workout.  Thus skipping out on myself.  #nothappeninsista ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

fitmomgoals I have been LOVING our virtual fitness challenge group this month, and we are **just** on day three! We coaches gave the leadership reins over to some of our best challengers, and they’re being so much renewed energy to us! Today’s topic: BALANCE. ⚖️ Balance is something that I have #ongoingstruggles with. My social life probably one area that suffers often, but has been improving since my kids are getting older. Work? Uh. Work has been a constant train wreck for the past year or so. I might have blurted out to my big boss at my agency yesterday that “I’m puking about my to-do list.” (Smooth, Nik.) And I always wish I had more time with my family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. I’m really sad because my husband was told that he needs to continue working weekends. He’s been doing it for 8 years, and was hopeful he could soon return to a M-F. Not going to happen at least for another 6 months , or more. 😣

I rarely feel balanced. Rarely. But the more important perspective for me, is that I know there are many, many things that I CAN CONTROL. I can control how I react to life. You can too, but like anything in life, it takes practice. 
Even though work has been a revolving door of staff departures and continual rehiring, I still have quite a bit of flexibility that I’ve learned to be unapologetic for it. Don’t get me wrong: I bust ass. My husband says it’s because I’m a #bossbabe. I think it’s because of my mindset. I do only what I can/must for the day, and then, I leave. Work will never be finished. Not until I retire!

My social life is on me. I can make the time to reach out to my friends. Mentally and emotionally. I can learn to let go. I can find outlets - like working out - to burn off stress and get my mind right. I am in control of how I react to life.

Life is a crazy balancing act that is continuously in motion. I do my best to move with the ebbs and flows, and let it take me where I need to go. Even when it’s hard. Even when I want to resist. That’s been something I’ve been learning and leaning into more and more. (This is my photo, btw, that I took on my recent trip in Santorini. Thanks to the unsuspecting couple for their silhouette. #latergram)

fitmomgoals Mamas - are you afraid to lift weights? How come?
So many times I get replies to my lifting stories from other moms or women like me who want to lose weight & get strong BUT the biggest reason they don’t lift weights is because they don’t want to ‘look too muscular’.
Honestly - that’s ok! It’s your body - your rules, I get it!

However, many of the same ladies also want to have a bigger butt or a small waist. So here’s some tips below as to WHY you SHOULD lift to reach your goals:
▪️Gaining muscle is a lot harder then you think & you can control your limits by adjusting your training!
▪️If you want bigger glutes - you need to lift weight & be doing moves like hip thrusts, lunges, abductions, squats and more! A 20-day body weight squat challenge isn’t going to give you a bigger butt.
▪️Often times, the illusion of a “thin waist” comes from having some muscle in your back leading to that V shape as it tapers down your waist.
▪️Weight lifting does not need to be intimidating! Remember, we ALL start somewhere!
▪️Strict cardio is not the only or best way to lose weight, by weight training you will gain *some muscle* & lose fat. Having an appropriate training program paired with a proper nutrition plan in my opinion, is the BEST way to lose fat.
▪️Remember muscle is more dense then fat - so as you slowly shape your body, though the number on the scale won’t budge, I’d bet you’re seeing a different in your measurements, how your clothing fits and by tracking photos!

fitmomgoals DIET...who else hates that word?!? I mean it literally has the word ‘die’ in it 😂
But in all seriousness every time I’d try to “diet” I was under the impression I had to restrict myself of all the things I love and then punish myself with workouts when I did cheat. ◾️

I try and do as many outdoor workouts as I can while the weather is nice so the boys can enjoy it as well! .

I ran up the hill 7x (was supposed to be 8, but life happens) it was a great workout and I felt EXHAUSTED afterwards 😩 but I was so glad I did it! .

First workout wearing my @famme gear and it was great! No slippage for the pants and the top was thin and airy! First outfit is a definite win in my books! Can’t wait to try the rest. .

fitmomgoals Just what I needed after my bachelorette weekend. It was so much fun filled with a lot of amazing food. Granted I listened to my body and stopped eating when I felt full which is getting easier to do. I’m slowly learning my portion sizes. But that doesn’t mean I had to skip out on delicious food. But mommy bootcamp is just what I needed. I was surprised that Abe did the entire workout in the carrier. Which I had to put him in because he was not playing nice with the other kiddos. I gotta say I was feeling it the workout today. The warm up had me sweating especially since I did my own little warm up before @fitamberrose got there. And let me tell you going heavy with Abe strapped to me took my workout to a whole new level. I know I’ve said it many times but Abe is not light. He is pretty darn solid for an 18 month old. So I will say I worked my ass off for my peanut butter filled brownie I got from @keeks.treats. Before you ask, I didn’t finish it either. I took a couple bites post workout and am saving the rest for Abe to taste after he wakes up from his nap. They are to die for though. Those two bites I had were pure heaven. Her posts have been so inspiring and encouraging about creating time for self care and she recently asked me about my self care schedule. . As I was typing out my response... I realized, this could be helpful for my audience too. 💛 . fitmomgoals I just stayed at home with my kids today, we played blocks, I pushed them on the swing set, changed diapers and pull-ups, and made lunch that ended up on the floor...so basically a typical Tuesday for me😆

But here’s what’s different, a few months ago you would’ve found me in the same yoga pants, or black leggings everyday. With a baggy T-shirt, because I didn’t want anything tight around my stomach. Or to draw attention to myself! I wasn’t feeling very confident or happy in my skin.

This isn’t just a workout, or portion control containers. Not just a shake or pre workout drink, it’s about learning to love yourself again. Not giving a flying fart that people WILL look at you, because you’re confident in yourself. About realizing that you deserve to buy the cute clothes even if no one but your kids is going to see them. Because YOU MATTER.💕

Our next group starts this coming Monday and I cannot wait to see the lives changed, the joy sparked and the new friendships made, so are you coming?!🤘🏽👯‍♀️💕

fitmomgoals The pic on the left I was 6 weeks PP from having my third baby and the right pic is today 19 mos PP. 😊 Aside from my obvious lack of smile (this was taken at midnight after a day with 3 kids ages 3, 2 and 6 weeks old) and  looking sleep deprived (newborn hazing is real) I was very happy and could not WAIT to start my PP journey the next day!! 😃 
You see, when I found out I was pregnant for the third time on April 1, 2017 (I found out a few days before my oldest turned 3 and two days after our offer on our first 🏡 was accepted) for the first time I was not afraid of what my body would look like PP bc I had found what would get me back in shape and what worked for me and my family! It wasn’t easy but it was DOABLE, I had hundreds of workout programs at my fingertips that I could stream from my phone or tv and I didn’t have to take my kids out into the January weather to some gym and risk one of them catching some germ! 
I share the side by side in hopes of encouraging someone else and that maybe what I have found to work for me could also work for YOU 👇🏼! Believe me, it’s not easy being vulnerable to post the pic on the left but I do it because of my PASSION and DEEP desire to help others live healthier lives. When I think of how many lives that could be changed by this post, my insecurities all of a sudden become unimportant to me in comparison to having the honor of having a small part in someone’s journey to become a healthier version of themselves. Whether your 6 weeks, 19 mos, or 25 years PP, don’t let another day go by without taking action in becoming a healthier YOU! 💕

See here’s the thing, the picture on the left wasn’t even at my highest weight. I had got to the point where I stopped taking pictures because I was unhappy with my appearance and constantly having back and knee pain, not to mention high blood pressure. But thank God I found Keto and boy did it change my life. In the beginning I was SUPER strict and stuck to the ketogenic lifestyle with no cheats. The problem is now I’m having such a hard time staying on track but please believe I’m not giving up. I’ll try, try again and repeat until I finally get the results I want. ..

One where some days I felt sexy AF and other days, large and in charge.  Postpartum, well, one of my best friends put it perfectly...you feel “fleshy” 😂. And it’s because you grew this amazing tiny little person inside of you.  But let’s face it, you don’t feel great about your body, and clothes?  Unless it’s yoga pants or maternity shorts, forget it.  But now I’m seeing progress.  It’s been a solid 2 1/2 weeks of moving and stretching, fueling myself with decent (still need to reign it in a bit) nutrition and a super simple vitamin based shake.  It’s making me more energized, confident and HAPPY.  Ladies and gents, ain’t nothing wrong with enjoying the reflection you see staring back at you!  Little by little, your body will change when you do the work and I cannot wait to see what 100 days looks like. 🔥
