Take time to heal because healing takes time! Read that again!!! 💯
Because social media has a tendency to paint a false reality, it’s important for me to share this struggle with you. Although I have an amazing co-parenting situation and overall my kids are adjusting to their new normal, I would do you a horrible disservice to let you think it’s not hard and we don’t struggle. That simply is not true. We may be through all the initial pain points and arguments but don’t get it twisted - divorce has lasting effects! On us adults and on our children. -
The emotions come and go and each kid handles things differently. But I can assure you, that the pain is real and the healing can’t be rushed. -
One day may be fine, and the next bad. You may go along for days, weeks, even months and then all of a sudden ...theres the emotions and you realize you’re still on the healing ride and it hasn’t stopped. -
As a parent, nothing will ever prepare you for the pain of watching your kids hurt or cry. The guilt is overwhelming at times to know I had a part in all of this. That my decisions contributed to their pain. Ouch!! That hurts!! 💯
Through this pain I am reminded that my past is not my future and it’s how we handle these situations that define our character. Remember, take time to heal because healing takes time! -
I hope this message serves someone today! 🖤
Find your hope.
When dark seasons grow from weeks, to months, or even years, hope can be hard to hold onto. With each knock to the ground, or disappointment, hope can seem not only far away, but non-existent.
But hope is a slow ember burning in that darkness ready to be fed. Believe in that fire. That one day your night will pass and God will fulfill his promises. Choose to believe.

“Surround yourself with people who are deeply rooted in love, work ethic, and understanding.” -Alex Elle
Tonight we met for the second week if We Aspire: Women’s Business Circle. These ladies (and a few more who aren’t pictured) are truly committed to growth and also making the world a better place through their visions, dreams, and businesses. I am so blessed to be running with each of them!
Who are you surrounding yourself with? Is it people who pour into you and lift you up? We all deserve and need these mutually supportive relationships! They are vital to creating the life we truly want to live!
Thank you ladies for showing up in a big way for yourselves and for each other! 💗
honestly God has made me so very happy lately and has helped me move on from all my troubles and finally be truly happy! I mean God is so very good and merciful to all his children, that is why i worship our great God!
“looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Before anyone ever dreams of deserting, they drift.
One choice that leads to another that leads to another that can ultimately lead to desertion and a total departure.
We’ve seen this time and time again (most recently by people you and I most likely once looked up to), and it seems to be a shock and surprise.
How many times have we heard the phrase, “they went off the deep end”?
While that may be where the drifter ultimately ended up, people don’t just wake up and think, “The deep end looks good, I think I’ll dive.” No, rather, it is a slippery slope: making one compromising decision after another, and ultimately having their hearts numb to the pricking of the Holy Spirit.
So what can we do? How can we avoid this ever-so-compelling drift?
By no means is this an exhaustive list, but I’ve found these things have helped me in my personal walk, and pray they might help you:
-be in God’s Word.
There is nothing else that can replenish and refresh our souls like being in the Word. It is living and active, and when we come in His presence, humbly and with a heart ready to receive it completely and apply it, we will find a heart that, after allowing God to till the soil of our hard hearts, loves and cherishes our Savior, out of which our obedience should be born.
In a season when you don’t “feel” like you want to spend time with the Lord, or the world seems more appealing than the Word, remember the words of Jeremiah 17:9 “the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure...”. Our feelings are not ultimate truth. Truth is not something, but Someone: the person of Jesus Christ. And I’ve found that in the valleys, even if I don’t feel like it, I ask God to soften my heart to receive His truth. I ask Him to help me desire Him more than my worldly desires. And in His infinite mercy and amazing grace, He does. As we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. So we must fight this spiritual battle on our knees.
And I mean true worship. Worshipping in spirit AND in truth. If we are busy worshipping God for who He is, praising Him for His greatness, and glorifying and magnifying His name, (continued in comments...)👇🏻

Sometimes what makes us insecure and vulnerable becomes the fuel we need to be overachievers.
The antidote for a snake bite is made from the poison and the thing that made you go backward is the same force that will push you forward. -@bishoptdjakes
Yet my hope returns when I remember this one thing: The Lord's unfailing love and mercy still continue, Fresh as the morning and sure as the sunrise. The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope. Lamentations 3:21-24
I was sifting through some papers tonight and I found this on my mom's funeral card. It caused me to smile and my heart warmed.
Have you found your why yet? Why does wellness matter to you?
Wellness doesn’t just mean what you eat or the toxins in your environment but also encompasses your spiritual, mental, & emotional wellness. These are all so interconnected that trying to separate them just doesn’t make sense.
Find your why and dig in to find a better understanding. There is no one sizes fits all when it comes to reducing toxins or healthy food choices, but we all have to find our why and start there. Without true understanding, we will fail every time to find wellness in its entirety.

One study published in PubMed showed that by the end of a 4 month weight loss program (and follow-up at month 10) participants who did it alone: 76% stayed true to the protocols and 24% maintained their weight loss in full from months 4 through 10. Not terrible, but compared to those who did it with friends: a whopping 95% stayed true to the protocols and 66% maintained their weight loss in full.
