Pan-seared salmon with tahini-miso sauce, served with a salted shaved cucumber salad—an easy dish that comes together quickly for a healthy delicious weeknight meal. .⠀⠀
On a mandoline, thinly cut a few small Persian cucumbers, place in colander and toss with about 2 tsp kosher salt. Let sit and drain over the sink or a bowl. Cucumbers should give out some liquid and soften a bit. Meanwhile, make the sauce + cook the salmon.⠀⠀

Tahini-miso sauce: In a small bowl, mash together 1 Tbsp white miso and 2 Tbsp tahini with a fork. Stir in about 1 Tbsp sesame oil and whisk with fork until smooth. Add a bit more oil if needed. Splash in a bit of warm water to thin out the mixture, keep stirring until well-combined and smooth. Add in about 1 Tbsp rice vinegar, continuing to whisk, drizzling in more warm water if you’d like to have a thinner sauce. Crush a small garlic and combine with tahini mixture. Taste, adjust seasoning to your liking; add a bit of fish sauce if you need it to be a touch saltier (omit altogether if things are already flavorful). Set tahini-miso sauce aside.⠀⠀

Cut 1 lb. of salmon into ½ inch slices. You should have about 6-8 pieces. In a hot cast iron pan (or nonstick pan), add some neutral oil and sear the salmon slices on high heat (in batches if necessary as you don’t want to crowd the pan), about 2 min on one side, flip and cook for about 30 sec-1 min on the other side. On a serving plate, spoon on some tahini-miso sauce, place seared salmon on top, serve with salted cucumbers, drizzle more tahini-miso sauce all over, sprinkle with scallions, sesame seeds and shichimi togarashi. It’s all about that calorie deficit, right? But…how do you go about creating that deficit? It can be frustrating trying to reduce your caloric intake!

Fasting in the morning is a great strategy for some as it simply eliminates calories from one meal you’d normally eat.

Filling up half your plate with veggies works well because veggies are very low calorie. So, it’s going to be much harder to overeat with only half of your plate left for the rest of your calories.

Limiting snacking has been proven to help people lose weight through a deficit. Again, you’re simply limiting how many times per day you put food in your mouth. Simple.

One big salad per day will fill you up and almost always be low calorie. Be careful here; if you’re adding bacon, eggs, ranch dressing, croutons, dried fruit to your salad - you just made a calorie bomb (explode!). Be mindful, yo.

Drinking calories is not a great way to spend calories. You won’t be filled up at all, and you can slurp down 400 calories like its nothing. Avoid it at all costs. if you’re drinking a Bell’s Two Hearted, I’ll give you a pass.

Have you ever been curious about “Flexible Dieting”? Or maybe you just want to learn a little more about it?

🍎 Flexible Dieting is often directly associated with the “IIFYM” (If It Fits Your Macros) style of eating, which often gets a bad rap because of the idea that as long as foods “fit your macros” any food source will do whether its cookies or kale.

While this position does hold up from strictly a “Calories In” vs. “Calories Out” perspective, there are more variables that we must discuss.

1️⃣ The main one is food quality.
⠀⠀
Food quality does matter from a total health perspective, an energy level perspective, a sustainability perspective and a results perspective.

🍕 So that’s why pizza, pop tarts, ice cream and skittles should not be the bulk of your diet. However, it’s totally cool if you fit them into your diet, and allow flexibility.

🥦 This is where the term “Flexible Dieting” comes into play, as opposed to just “IIFYMing” it.

🥗 Flexible Dieting is essentially the idea that 80% of your daily calorie intake should come from whole, healthy foods like lean proteins, fruits, veggies, whole grains and healthy fats.

However, it’s totally cool if you fit them into your diet, and allow flexibility. ⠀⠀ 🥦 This is where the term “Flexible Dieting” comes into play, as opposed to just “IIFYMing” it. ⠀⠀ 🥗 Flexible Dieting is essentially the idea that 80% of your daily calorie intake should come from whole, healthy foods like lean proteins, fruits, veggies, whole grains and healthy fats. ⠀⠀ 🍟 This also leaves 20% of your total calorie intake to be distributed into eating foods you really enjoy, like Oreo’s and donuts. ⠀⠀ 📊So on a 2,000 calorie diet, ~1,600 calories should come from foods like chicken breast, brown rice, broccoli, strawberries and nuts and ~400 can come from a slice of chocolate cake or a snickers bar. Losing weight is also easy, slash carbs, sodium and crash diet for 4wks to drop a tonne of glycogen and water. What’s hard however is losing weight (and fat) and KEEPING IT OFF. Taking them shopping helps them learn about a variety of food they may not be exposed to on a daily basis and can help decrease picky eating.

We all struggle with turning to the sweet stuff! 
The question is... how can we manage the cravings better and make it work for us when were trying to lose some bodyfat?! 🤔 ⭐ Try allowing yourself some treats within your diet!
 Making them totally off limits will only make you crave them more! 😬 ⭐ find some lower calorie options that work for you to help curb the cravings! (For example swap ben & Jerry's for halo top ice cream) ⭐ drink some water first before giving in to any temptations, or even a zero calorie drink! ⭐ do a few star jumps or a quick walk, run up and down the stairs, try a few stretches?
All these will help give you a few minutes to break the initial craving! You need to try and break some habits! ⭐ try eating your last meal a little later on, if you struggle with cravings before bed!

Hopefully these will help next time you have some cravings! 
Most importantly dont deprive yourself of everything, just find a balance of allowing yourself some treats and being disciplined! 💕

You can use any kind of vanilla protein powder but my favorite for taste and sitting well in the stomach is @nutrabio creamy vanilla and just order online since the stores don't carry it. 🤤  I also use silk brand light vanilla almond milk for a thicker consistency.  You can use fresh berries but I also have an overnight oat addiction so my fresh berries go in that. Anyone who has tried this has only ever become obsessed with me. Feel free to join in!

Wedding season is here and the most asked question is ‘How to ‘NOT’ gain weight during wedding season’. To answer this me let’s quickly look into the reasons for weight gain during weddings.

1- Easy access to high calorie foods

2- Hectic schedules followed by eating whatever is easy available( generally unhealthy)

3- Improper sleep pattern leading to activation of hunger hormones.

There is least we can do about the easy access to high calorie foods but what we can do is being choosy rather than trying a bite of everything. Even during my weightloss programs clients go out attend weddings and parties and my advice always is- go through the entire snacks menu and choose 2 of your favourite ones. Never forget PORTION CONTROL.

Proper time management and not pushing things to last minute can help  avoid last minute hassles but doesn’t really sound practical in ‘ Shaadi Wala Ghar’. So what comes to rescue is a snack pouch in your bag. Snack pouch must have 1 banana and handful nuts and dried fruit ( figs,dates, almosts & cashews ). It will definitely help you make better food choices if you have fueled yourself well.

A proper sleep is indispensable whether its exam time, wedding or any big day. A good sleep helps balance your hormones and is a refresh butten for the body. 
Lastly Remember to have fun—and wear an outfit you feel confident in. Feeling great about yourself helps you stick to good intentions.

It’s funny how your tastebuds change over time. I hated beetroot as a kid! Although, I’m not 100% sure if it was due to the taste or the fact that it used to turn my sandwich pink and soggy 🤣🤣

Fast forward a few years and now I LOVE beetroot, especially in salads. This is one of my favourite salads, Beetroot and Feta Salad, with chickpeas of course.

eatsmart After a long day with a bad headache, a nice bowl of soup feels cozy. 
I used a single package of @koyonoodles shiitake instant ramen, some cut up enoki mushrooms and scallions, and some Sichuan chili crisp from @flybyjing to make it happen. 
I followed the directions but used twice the water recommended. This made the broth a lighter flavor and gave me more broth, which was perfect to me. The chili crisp added some awesome flavor and a little kick. On a cold day, a soup with a kick is the best! 
The ramen and scallions were from my @imperfectfoods box. 😁
Point breakdown: mushrooms and scallions - 0 sp, 1 package Koyo shiitake ramen - 6 sp, and 1/2 tbsp Sichuan chili crisp - 2 sp for a total of 8 sp.

Here are the 5 things that help me stay committed to my weight loss goal during Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season!⁣
⁣  1. I ask my family what food they are planning to serve a few days ahead of time so that I can plan out what I will eat that day. ⁣
⁣  2. I drink my superfood shake in the morning so that it will give me the vitamins, minerals, fruits and veggies I need, but also curve cravings so I won’t be tempted to eat stuff before our big meal! (𝘏𝘐𝘛 𝘔𝘌 𝘜𝘗 𝘍𝘖𝘙 𝘐𝘕𝘍𝘖)⁣
⁣  3. I told my family about my weight loss goal before we had dinner and told them I would really appreciate them not offering me more food once I finished. ⁣
⁣  4. I use my portion control containers to make sure I’m not eating too much! ⁣
⁣  5. I allow myself a piece of pie by putting it in my meal plan for that day so that I won’t be miserable and sad that I don’t get any! ⁣

Also tried the @realgoodfoods chicken poppers in cream cheese jalapeno,I have to say my favorite real good product so far! I paired it with a salad. Finally,@smartsweets sweet fish, they are soooo good. Totally hit that sweet craving, again a little high in carbs but super low in calories.

Ingredients:

Wet:
1 organic ripe banana, mashed
6 pasture-raised eggs (or organic), whisked
1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
1/2 cup organic coconut oil, melted and cooled to room temperature
1 tablespoon organic honey
1 tablespoon organic apple cider vinegar (ACV)
1 organic zucchini, grated (about 1 cup, squeeze out moisture)

Dry:
3/4 cup organic coconut flour
1 tablespoon organic cinnamon
1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt 
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

You can store zucchini bread in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer (slices separated with parchment paper) for up to 1 month.

La crema de cacahuate es rica en proteínas y grasas saludables, las cuales ayudan a reducir el riesgo de padecer enfermedades cardiovasculares, cáncer, entre otras. Puede ser una gran opción para los vegetarianos que buscan incluir más proteínas en sus dietas. Una porción de 2 cucharadas contiene hasta 8 gramos de proteína y 2 a 3 gramos de fibra. También ofrece vitaminas y minerales, incluyendo la vitamina B, hierro, potasio y vitamina E, la cual brinda un efecto antioxidante.

La crema de cacahuate más saludable está hecha solamente de cacahuates, mientras que la sal, los azúcares y los aceites añadidos cambian su perfil nutricional. Una crema de cacahuate con sal añadida puede tener de 100 a 150 miligramos de sodio, a diferencia de una sin sal la cual es libre de sodio. Lo mismo sucede con los azúcares, en especial las aromatizadas pueden llegar a agregar hasta 7 gramos o 28 calorías por porción.
