Salmon, Asparagus, and Potatoes Sheet Pan Dinner 😍 I love one pan meals because it’s minimal clean up and this one came together in under 30 minutes 😎 Cooked it in my new @ninjakitchen foodie air fryer oven which is my new favorite kitchen item, no joke 💯 They were kind enough to send it to me to test out some new recipes and let me tell you- this gadget does it all 🙌🏻 -⠀⠀
recipe details: ⠀⠀
Preheat the oven to 425F. ⠀⠀
Cut 8-9 small gold potatoes into wedges, add to a bowl, and coat with 1 tbsp of avocado oil or olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper⠀⠀
Bake for 15 minutes. ⠀⠀
While the potatoes cook, coat salmon with 1 tbsp ghee (or butter), 1 tsp parsley, 1 tsp garlic, squeeze some lemon on top and put in a ziplock bag to let it soak in. ⠀⠀
In the same bowl you just had the potatoes in, add asparagus that’s been washed and trimmed. Coat with 1 tbsp of whatever oil you just used.⠀⠀
After the potatoes are done cooking, remove and add the salmon and asparagus to the pan. Cook for another 12 minutes. Then broil at the end for 2 minutes to get it crispy 👌🏻

Huele la mitad que al hacerlo a la plancha y para mi la textura y el sabor que queda... son siempre de 10!

Para hacer el rodaballo siempre pongo una base de cebolla y patatas cortadas muy muy finitas. Echo un poco de aceite con el spray, mix de pimientas y sal. .
Pongo el rodaballo por encima, ajo fresco y perejil;  y echo otra pizca de aceite con el spray. .
Lo llevo al horno a 175°C y dejo que se vaya dorando poco a poco. .
Una delicia... 🤗

I didn’t sleep too well last night - my dad asked me this morning if I let out a yelp in my sleep, and I totally did 😅 I had a nightmare, and I wasn’t sure if I screamed in my sleep, but apparently it really did happen!
I decided to sleep in a bit before my busy day and it was such a great decision!
this plate came together in under 5 minutes - I used leftover sweet potatoes, so all I had to do was cook up the eggs, slice the avocado, and wash some fruit! ❤️
I have a midterm this evening, so I’ll be prepping for that in between classes 📚

it’s a dark and rainy hump day morning over here, but I dragged my booty out of bed and cranked out some early morning studying and feeling a lot less stressed and overwhelmed!
I’m the most productive earlier in the day, and I’d way rather have a homework session at 6am then 10pm at night! 📚
anyways, back to this delicious bowl - you can’t even taste the zucchini; it is totally masked by the decadent goodness of the cacao powder, protein powder and nut butter!
I also HIGHLY recommend adding frozen banana to your oats - it adds natural sweetness and makes them super creamy!
I’m off to a @barryscanada workout before continuing my massive pile of school work! 🏋🏻‍♀️

Q: when are you most productive? early morning? late at night?

double chocolate zucchini oatmeal:
1. bring 2/3 cup of water to a boil
2. reduce heat, and add in 1/3 cup oats (I use @bobsredmill gf rolled oats)
3. add in 1/4 of a frozen banana (makes the oats naturally sweet + creamy!)
4. stir every 20 seconds or so
5. add in your grated zucchini
6. after a few minutes + once they are cooked to your desired consistency, remove from heat
7. add in whatever you’d like! I did 2 scoops of @nuzest_usa chocolate protein powder, 1 heaping tsp @navitasorganics cacao powder, 1 tbsp chia seeds, and lots of @simplyorganicfoods cinnamon
8. transfer to bowl and then I topped it with pumpkin seeds, blackberries, and @maranathanutbutters almond butter

eathealthy I turned 54 the day this pic was taken on my birthday 3 weeks ago….and very much in peri-menopause! 
Today is World Menopause Day and I know that many of my clients find this phase of life very challenging. On a personal level, I do too; hot sweats that sweep over in seconds and disrupted sleep are something I now have to deal with, let alone memory lapses, bouts of irrational anxiety and unexplained low moods.

However, I’m lucky. I haven’t noticed these symptoms until very recently and whilst they’re certainly not fun, they’re manageable. Many of my clients are struggling with extreme symptoms  but nevertheless have to carry on regardless. That’s not easy and it’s not surprising that many women find this phase tough.

There’s so much out there when it comes to managing the menopause and whilst I’m sure many are aware of the numerous symptoms and treatment options available, the natural solutions can often be overlooked. 
One thing I know is that the food I eat and the focus on good lifestyle habits has a big impact on alleviating the symptoms, allowing me to continue pursuing my passions with energy and vitality – I am truly grateful for this. I share this natural approach with my clients, increasing their understanding of the how the body is changing at this time and discussing the ways that they can help themselves before and during menopause. 
FYI…..THE AVERAGE AGE OF MENOPAUSE IS 51 AND YOU’RE OFFICIALLY IN MENOPAUSE WHEN YOU HAVEN’T HAD A PERIOD FOR 12MONTHS. LEADING UP TO THIS YOU ARE IN PERI-MENOPAUSE WHEN HORMONE LEVELS NATURALLY DROP, CAUSING THE SYMPTOMS ASSOCIATED WITH MENOPAUSE. .

Ricettina veloce per rifarla 👉
Iniziate saltando in padella le melanzane con aglio e olio, aggiungete i pomodori e aggiustate di sale. Frullate una parte del condimento aggiungendo qualche foglia di basilico. Nella stessa padella fate cuocere il macinato senza altri condimenti, ha già una sua parte di grasso. Unite le melanzane e i pomodorini e la crema fatta in precedenza, amalgamate e aggiungete pepe e noce moscata. Mi raccomando conservate un pó di acqua di cottura della pasta per mescolare meglio.

◾▪️Salade de quinoa à l'avocat 🥑🥑 🥗 Ingrédients pour 4 personnes :
- 1 avocat mûr, dénoyauté, pelé et coupé en tranches
- 200g de quinoa, rincé et égoutté
- 200g de haricots verts, équeutés et coupés
- 1 gousse d’ail, coupée en deux
- 4 cuil. à soupe d’huile d’olive
- le just d’un citron
- 1⁄2 cuil. à café de cumin moulu
- Sel et poivre du moulin
- 100 g de radis, émincés
- 50 g de feuilles de salade mixte 🥗 Préparation :
- Une fois rincé, placez le quinoa dans une casserole et rajoutez de l’eau froide jusqu’à recouvrir le quinoa. - Portez à ébullition, puis laissez mijoter à petit feu pendant 15 à 20 minutes.
- Egouttez, rincez avec de l’eau froide et égouttez à nouveau. - Pendant ce temps, cuisez les haricots verts dans de l’eau bouillante légèrement salée pendant 3 à 4 minutes.
- Egouttez et rincez avec de l’eau froide afin de les faire refroidir plus rapidement. - Frottez les surfaces coupées de la gousse d’ail sur l’intérieur d’un grand bol (pour donner un soupçon d’ail à la salade). - Ajoutez ensuite l’huile d’olive, le jus de citron et le cumin. Assaisonnez avec le sel et le poivre et fouettez le tout. - Versez le quinoa et les haricots verts dans le bol, puis ajoutez-y le radis, l’avocat et les feuilles de salade. Ingredients:
1 Small Pumpkin 
1 Small Butternut Squash 
3 Stalks of Celery 
Fresh Sage Leaves
1 Medium White Onion 
2 Tbsp Minced Garlic 
2 Tsp Pink Himalayan Salt 
2 Tsp Fresh Ground Pepper 
1/4 C Olive Oil 
2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
2 Tsp Ground Turmeric 
3 Tbsp Pure Organic High Quality Maple Syrup
.
Directions:
1. Cut squash and pumpkin in half. Drizzle with olive oil and place in a baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Let cool for 10-15 minutes. 
2. On medium high heat, cook down chopped celery and onion for 4-5 minutes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a splash of water for steaming. Season with salt and pepper to taste and add in minced garlic. Add a splash of water, cover with solid and reduce to a low heat until cooked thoroughly and the vegetables are transparent (4-5 minutes). 3. Scoop out the seeds from the squashes.

4. Scoop out squashes from their skin and place in a blender. Add in cooked veggies, salt and pepper to taste, cinnamon, turmeric, and maple syrup. 
5. Blend until smooth consistency and return to a pot to simmer. Serve hot and top with fried sage leafs.

This year I made a commitment to myself to try out Crossfit for 6 months to immerse myself something new and experiment with how different nutritional approaches affected my performance in class. Everything had been going great and I was learning so much! I've gotten much stronger and had visually noticeable results... not to mention I grew connected with a fantastic supportive community that I'd desperately been missing. But then life happened, as it does.

I went back and forth for weeks to try and find another way to continue in the Crossfit gym and be able to sustain other areas of my life but ultimately it didn't add up.
.
The purpose of this message isn't to spread the news about my gym membership, but I think the lesson in this experience can be translated to a lot of other things, especially that pertain to your health and wellbeing: that sometimes you have to quit one thing in order to make more realistic/beneficial gains elsewhere. 
For instance, taking a step back from a stringent Ketogenic diet to let your hormones heal. Or deleting MyFitnessPal because the stress of counting every single thing you put into your mouth is taking over your mind. Or taking a break from obsessing over your food and just letting your body tell you what it needs. Or changing your workout routine to something lower impact to let your joints/muscles/adrenals actually heal. 
The good news about quitting something like this is that it doesn't have to be permanent. You can make a sacrifice to give up something you've enjoyed for a while if it means that another part of you can benefit and grow in the process. With a refreshed body and mind, you may even have greater success than when you began the first time!

Recette pour 8-10 mini cakes (selon la Taille de vos moules) :.
> 120g de Fécule de Maïs.
> 120g de Farine de Sarrasin,
> 100g de Yaourt de Soja ou Fromage Blanc 0%,
> 4 Œufs,
> 100g de Lait d’Amandes,
> 1 sachet de Levure Chimique,
> 1 Poivron Rouge,
> Fêta,
> 1/2 Oignon Jaune (uniquement si vous passez par la Première Étape),
> Olives vertes,
> du Sel & du Poivre.
1/ La première étape est Facultative... Vous pouvez faire revenir votre poivron avec un peu d’oignon, quelques minutes, dans une poêle légèrement huilée ou bien le mettre à cru dans votre préparation (sans l’oignon)
2/ Dans un saladier, mélanger les œufs, le sel, le poivre, le yaourt et le lait. 
3/ Ajouter ensuite la farine, la fécule et la levure.
4/ Bien mélanger puis ajouter vos morceaux de poivron, de fêta (personnellement de l’émiette) et d’olives vertes.
5/ Remplir vos petits moules à cake au 3/4 et Enfourner à 180 degrés pendant environ 25 minutes.
