The world is continually changing methods and approaches on how to gain audience attention.
Therefore, it has become necessary that as a Speaker, you also must find ways to reinvent yourself to remain at the curtain edge of your game.
So, in the next few days I will be writing on some of the ways that can help you when addressing an audience.
1. Deliver a performance, rather than a speech.
This might sound queer to those whose mindset is a bit fixated on what performance is all about.
Relax a bit let me explain.
I know that a speech is primarily about the words that you speak, but a performance is so much more. It’s inflection, gesture, tension, resolution and suspense.
These days, nobody wants to attend a boring, long winding talk, seminar especially when he or she has to pay for it, even if it's on Radio, Television or any of the social media platforms.
People want to feel relaxed, accepted and warm so you must do everything possible to play out these when making a presentation .
How you can go about it is by:
I. Working hard before you present:
Performers work hard at capturing and keeping an audience’s attention, and words are only one tool in their arsenals. Don’t stop crafting your performance once you’ve written the text of your speech.
This just means that you study your audience before even meeting the audience, guess what it could look like and possibly some common denominator that will be the first catch.
In all, bare this in mind
"Brevity is the soul of wit" William Shakespeare and so it's essential in public speaking too.

Handwriting is something that’s all too tempting to fall by the wayside today, as more people are obsessed with the digital. Whether it’s the stylus on their tablets or YouTube videos, folks seem to make less time for old-school things like cursive. Many people automatically assume that, in today's high-tech world, handwriting is obsolete. However, this is far from true—handwriting is still an important skill today for us because your handwriting is uniquely you. It is your way of marking your individuality in an increasingly typed world. Upcoming class -Diction and Handwriting
