Have you ever tried a Tromboncino? It is much like a Zucchini but also like most summer squash.
I love how everything about their them and cannot wait to harvest this one when it gets to the perfect size! ❤
Facelift for our herb garden barrels!
Befores and Afters are my jam.
Sadly, found out today that my now beloved deck stain is discontinued, which is why we got such a good price on it. Luckily the first coat is complete on the back deck so we can go over it with a second coat of something matching.
Buckets-of-death!!!! 👹👹👹🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀 Last night I had one bucket out and caught 3 HUGE rats. It’s now become a war.. as my tomato plants dwindle I’m protecting em as much as I can. Tonight I set up 5 buckets all over my yard. Mostly trying to protect my 5 Brandywine tomatoes that are covered in huge 🍅, the remainder of my cherry tomatoes, and my one blackberry plant that has like 10 berries on it. I swear I’m gonna murder every rat that’s ever lived in this neighborhood, and will ever live in this neighborhood. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!!🖕🏻🤖

I've decided we all need our daily dose of this amazing sunflower that grew from a volunteer seed from last year. 🌻

Because the homie @cmitchb , from The NOLA said so. He said these are the real deal staple for your cupboard. They don’t sell them in California, so I had to grab the 12 pack online. 🍛🍛🍛 @bluerunnerfoods
Definitely growing the Black From Tula heirloom tomato again next year 🍅 👉
I hade an awesome vegan caprese salad from them with Myoko’s mozzarella and homegrown basil and garlic, drizzled in homemade green onion blossom and herb vinegar and lemon olive oil 👩🍳 💕
Proud to send out my first homegrown bouquet for a pals bday 🌞
My personal mandate this season was to grow more cut flowers and though this bouquet may have required cilantro flowers as filler, the zinnias and sweet peas have made me a proud plant mum ❣️ But TBH overall, flower farming is wayyy trickier than growing food. Why’s that?! Why are our boulevards and public parks filled with pretty plants instead of edible, practical ones? Maybe we should rethink that.
First winter squash to survive critters in years. And it was an accident. I bought “lemon cucumbers” to plant in a trough. Oops! Glad the mixup happened because I have plenty of cucumbers and I love spaghetti squash. More to come, too. #urbangarden#containergarden#organic
My garden’s not able to produce a day’s meal worth to even feed one person but the enjoyment & experience is priceless. Hopefully more beans & tomatoes will be ready for picking soon! Anyone else growing in the back yard? Share your produce & gardening tips! I’m experimenting in containers, from fabric pots to self watering. #gardeningmeditation#containergarden#wholefoods#hungryathlete

#This container combo featured in our August issue is tailor-made for summer—the plants thrive in the sun and don’t mind if you go on vacation (or just plain forget to water them 😉). For a focal point, plant a fountain-shape grass with wispy plumes that catch the light, like Mexican feather grass. Then, cluster two or three succulents in the middle ground for textural contrast. ‘Mojave Yellow’ portulaca (far left) brings romance, and it blooms through late summer. Finally, the chartreuse mounds of fast-growing ‘Angelina’ brighten the scene and create a sense of abundance. 🌿 Tap the link in our bio for more container plants that love the heat. #bhgflowers 📷: Carson Downing | Producer: Scott Johnson

Theres something about marigolds. They deter a large variety of pests so we've planted them in the same container as our tomatoes

🥕🥕I’ve never been big on carrots, but in my situation I am growing whatever will grow well here.🥕🥕
So, to make myself more excited about these carrots, I planted as full a rainbow as I could find seeds for! The red and yellow carrots are a bit slower to mature than these purple dragon and the smaller orange variety I planted. I’m working on adapting my tastes, but sometimes I need a second factor to get excited about. Here’s to my victory garden!💛
