Don’t go comparing yourself to images you see on Instagram. On most occasions people will put up images of their best angles. This doesn’t always show the reality. You might see posts of my ‘tight tummy’ and definition.... underneath I still have a wobbly tummy, stretch marks and lose skin. This is called being human. So don’t go viewing images thinking why doesn’t my body look like that....these are both images of my body taken seconds apart, this is honest weight loss! ❤️

So why these two examples?

In my estimation they show up at the extremes.

Never do I hear of a food people have such a hard time having in multiples than eggs.

The amount of people I see having 1 egg at breakfast is astounding. I get it, and maybe I’m weird for having 6 — okay maybe Im weird. Anyways..

“They’re so filling”, they say.
-
I’m like, “GOOD”
-
Good, have a few more. It might help curb the hunger you get in a few hours.
-
You just felt full on 150-240 calories.
-
But then we have Starbucks. Or juice, pop, and even sugary “health drinks”.
-
250 calories or so.
-
It filled you up like...water.
-
Not that it has no affect. I mean water does too.
-
But 250 calories and let’s be real, you don’t even really consider it part of your meal.
-
This post is really about our mentality towards calories and our understanding of calorie density.
-
Or to value foods that fill is up and give us a lot for very little calorie “cost”.
-
Vegetables more.
-
Processed foods, liquid calories, etc less.
-
You gotta be aware that if you valued that egg, chicken breast, broccoli for its ability to give a lot for so little calories.
-
And you put away the toast and peanut butter so you could make room for more, sticks with the example, eggs.
-
You’d find something ridiculous happen.
-
Weight loss gets easy.
-
And if you stop walking by Starbucks every day or change your daily order. Or if you stop putting chips in the cupboard you happen to crave/can’t resist partially because you’ve made them so available IT GETS even easier.

But until you stop taking in stuff that feels like nothing (but is actually a lot) in favor of stuff that seems like a lot (but is actually very little), this fat loss thing is gonna keep feeling harder than it’s supposed to be.

And it’s pretty hard anyways. That’s normal too. You gotta make it as easy as possible.

caloriedeficit 10 minute meal: Spicy Zoodles & Shrimp 🍤🤩😋

This is a super easy meal and takes 10 mins start to finish.

Here’s how to make everything:
1. For the shrimp, I pat them down with a paper towel then tossed them with some olive oil, pink Himalayan salt, ground pepper, smoked paprika, smoked chili, and garlic powder. You can get creative and use whatever you want. Don’t be afraid to experiment.

2. Cook the shrimp for 60-75 seconds on each side. Don’t over do it as it will become rubbery.

3. For the “noodles” I spiralized 1 zucchini and tossed in some spicy cashew cheese sauce. Warmed it up for a couple of minutes on medium heat. You can use any type of pasta or cheese sauce you’d like.

4. Topped with some more red chili flakes and fresh parsley.

Well especially for the ladies your body is not complying because weight loss or gain is not dependent on just what you eat, it's also dependent on a number of things. 
Some of these things include
1.	Muscle mass
2.	Hormonal function.
3.	Emotional eating.
4.	Body fat composition 
These 4 things are points that men clearly have the upper hand on.
Men have more muscle mass than women,increased muscle mass helps with weight loss
Men produce testosterone which encourages the burning of fat and do not have frequent cyclical  changes.
Men’s fat are usually deposited around the organs while women’s fat is deposited below the skin. It's been discovered that burning fat on the organs is much easier than burning fat below the skin. 
Women also are prone  to emotional eating which can occur when one is stressed,has food cravings,sad,lonely and when we miss our diet regimes. 
So how do all these play out for women and what can they do to achieve the weight loss they  so desperately want. 
Women experience hormonal changes frequently and these changes in turn determine where fat is deposited. 
Hormones  act  like a switches.When it's on, your body works fine, when it's off your body slows down. 
Two hormones vital to weight loss are leptin and gherlin. Leptin tells your body when you are full and gherlin stimulates hunger and slows down metabolism. 
10% of a woman’s weight is in body fat.

If she looses body fat and it's not replaced by more muscles the leptin hormone takes it as a signal that the brain is full and reduces its availability.⤵️

The key is to try it and then evaluate after a few weeks and decide to increase, decrease or maintain that number of calories. Be patient and don’t cut the calories more if you don’t see an immediate difference

It is important to be honest about your actual activity level here. If you WANT to workout 6 hours a week but only ACTUALLY are active for 2 well then you count 2 - not 6 😊

Also, make sure that you are counting all of your calories. Missing small snacks, drinks and bites here and there can add up to being WAY more than you thought

Remember this is just a starting point and the goal is to understand your body and make more conscious decisions about your food intake

🙌🏻Over the past 7 months, I  completed my first ever “bulk”. Weighing the most I have ever weighed (148-150). I started my cut at the end of March, lost about 12 lbs in 13-14 weeks. I was happy with it, but also started to feel small, not as curvy, or strong, and it just made me question if I wanted to continue losing weight or not. So the past 3 weeks I’ve just kinda been chilling at maintenance, my macros are set as “deficit macros”, but I’ve been loosely tracking and just enjoying food and life.

🙌🏻I’ve said all of that to say, I have times I look in the mirror and wonder “why haven’t I lost more?” or “why am I not leaner?”, when in reality I’m not because I haven’t put forth the effort to be. I even question if I want to be more lean or not. I love the way I feel and look. I love the foods that I eat.

🙌🏻Bottom line, be honest with yourself. Don’t expect results you are busting your butt to achieve. And it is OKAY to be happy with yourself just the way you are. If you are striving for more, always remember, it will take time💕

Walking is my favorite form of cardio. If you just make it part of your everyday life, it’s not really cardio though. You’d be amazed at how many additional steps you can add in each day by consciously adding in more walking, such as pacing back and forth while you talk on the phone. Eventually it becomes unconscious/habitual.

Most of us never put our phones down or take any down time throughout the day to just reflect and think about life. Little 10-20 minute walks are perfect for this and are good for the soul.

If you have an iPhone, it automatically tracks your daily steps (click on the health app in the iFolder – it has a heart for its graphic). I scrolled back over the past few months and found that some days I would talk 3,000 steps and other days 16,000, so I decided to “step it up” and make sure I get in at least 10,000 steps per day. This has been very easy and only required some minor lifestyle modifications. You burn more calories through non-exercise activity thermogenesis than you do through exercise, so creating an active lifestyle should not be underestimated.

As you can see in the infographic, you can burn an additional couple hundred calories a day by stepping it up, and this adds up over time. Increased activity is a major factor in weight management and can work on dual fronts by also slightly decreasing appetite. Make walking a basic component of your life. It won’t interfere with your strength workouts and it’s good for the metabolism, heart, and mind.

The biggest thing my own health & fitness journey taught me was this.... Restricting things only makes you want them more! 🤯 Restricting something is not a long term plan. ALLOW yourself to eat whatever it is you want in a small amount. Sit down, eat it slowly without distractions & enjoy the heck out of it... whatever it may be! This honestly leads to long term SUCCESS! 473 Calories
34 Protein 10 Carbs Fat 33 - Fibre 6.6 - (you can further adjust the fat to a leaner Beef fat%).
Treat recipes as a template and adjust to your preference. Ie don’t like spinach use Kale, don’t like Fungi use tomatoes, don’t like avocado - who are you?!

👉🏼 What you will need
• 1 tsp Ghee
• 1/2 Avocado
• 4 oz Grass Fed (1) Ground Beef [i go 20% fat more flavour] ((1) contains more nutrients and they are calorie free
• 1 cup chopped spinach or collard greens
• 1 cup chopped mushrooms
🕺🏼 Salt to taste.
——
👉🏼 How the Magic Happens ✨
1.
Form a Pattie or use a Pattie maker like I did ;-)
2.
Preheat cast iron pan to medium high
3.
Add the ghee, Cook the Pattie, dont not touch for 3 minutes.
4. Sauté the mushrooms and spinach until wilted on the other side  around 3 minutes.
5. Turn over Pattie and repeat ^ 3 Minutes do not touch or fiddle! Otherwise will not create a crust and will stick and break!
6.
Slice an avocado 🥑 
7.
Turn heat off and place a spinach a spinach leaf like a wrap or use collard green or lettuce wrap, whatever is at your disposal!
8.
Season to taste, Tuck in and enjoy!
Add some tomatoes for some freshness & herbs 🌿

They were a lot of hassle in the beginning ‘cause I tried steaming them first so that I wasn’t using oil, but that didn’t work. 😐

Moderation. Don’t go on full blown cheat days and end up in a 1.6k calorie surplus that literally washes out ALL of the effort you’ve put in over the week to create a deficit. Because that’s what happens when you go on a full blown cheat day.

Just make sure your calories are where they’re supposed to be, also on the weekends. Enjoy yourself, in moderation.

However, both noodles have the same amount of energy (358 calories per 100g).
Hence, for the amount same calories, you can eat pretty much DOUBLE the volume of pasta if you choose penne.

Of course they haven’t. Whilst the diets of the athletes above may vary, they all consume real food. We idolize these people and believe their sporting abilities make their physiological make up different to ours, but they are just the same. Whilst their technical abilities, skill and conditioned fitness is far superior, they still have to monitor and control their lifestyle to fit their goal - just like we do.⁣

Whilst eating a variety of real food, an athlete’s balance of calories consumed will be controlled in relation to the amount of calories they expend. This doesn’t mean we have to turn our life upside down and take up athletics or tennis. Instead, we need to be smart enough to realise that the principle demonstrated by most athletes is all the evidence we require. ⁣

The products on the right of this graphic give no advantage to management of actual food. They do not nourish, do anything that a calorie deficit doesn’t already do, alter the laws of thermodynamics or cleanse us. They do however, cost a lot of money in exchange for misleading horse manure.

Whilst the diets of the athletes above may vary, they all consume real food. We idolize these people and believe their sporting abilities make their physiological make up different to ours, but they are just the same. Whilst their technical abilities, skill and conditioned fitness is far superior, they still have to monitor and control their lifestyle to fit their goal - just like we do.⁣ ⁣ Whilst eating a variety of real food, an athlete’s balance of calories consumed will be controlled in relation to the amount of calories they expend. This doesn’t mean we have to turn our life upside down and take up athletics or tennis. Instead, we need to be smart enough to realise that the principle demonstrated by most athletes is all the evidence we require. ⁣ ⁣ The products on the right of this graphic give no advantage to management of actual food. They do not nourish, do anything that a calorie deficit doesn’t already do, alter the laws of thermodynamics or cleanse us. They do however, cost a lot of money in exchange for misleading horse manure. ⁣ We are screwing around with nonsense products, making our own understanding more complicated. In that you consume it, it passes through the esophagus, at which point it enters the stomach before entering the small intestine. caloriedeficit A few years ago when I was in my physical prime (2012-2013) I would do a quick mile before every workout. Now all these years later and the thought of doing that is super intimidating. Went from weighing 205lbs to 251lbs and currently at 239lbs. So jogging isn't exactly something that I enjoy but I finally decided to give it a go. Took a little under 10 minutes to get it done but I didn't decide to go for it until like 30 seconds in and the music was fueling me. 😂 Felt pretty good, obviously not where I want to be but I'm sure I'll get the time to go down.
