bladdercontrol #ad Can you guess what this face is for?
It’s the face I pull when doing my pelvic floor exercises #WeeNeedToTalk.
When I was pregnant with the boys (especially second time round with Leo) I really struggled with bladder weakness, sneezing was just a disaster and always resulted in a leak but thanks to doing my exercises regularly normal bladder control has returned.
I recently learnt from Always Discreet that two thirds of women in the UK have experienced bladder leaks and this includes 64% of 18-24 year olds - not just older people! Always Discreet are on a mission to break the silence on bladder leaks and show women experiencing them that they are not alone, others just like them, are going through the same thing. Women experiencing bladder leaks should seek advice from a health care professional such as a GP, to identify the best course of action for them and do those all important pelvic floor exercises daily (I do mine while doing my makeup in the morning - pause for mascara though). Every woman is different but it has proven to improve the situation for many, including myself. Check out @gynaegeek for some great advice and let’s all get our daily ‘squeeze face’ on together!

bladdercontrol Okay guys. I’ve got an idea. From now on, whenever I post a picture of one of our toilets, it will be an indication that I am about to share something personal. Sound good? So here it is:
Guess what?? I haven’t full-on wet my pants on a couple months now! Isn’t that amazing?? It’s because I’ve been doing kegels every time I’m at a stop light like @jsnider2 told me to! Just kidding. It’s not. Those kegels take too much concentration, Jess! I’m actually not sure why it is—I guess I’ve just gotten lucky. Also, for my birthday in December, @nanrobison got me some of those Poise bladder support thingies (Swipe to see). I had finally gotten up the courage to use one before I headed to the gym recently, but upon reading the back of the box, I realized they are not meant for my situation. Specifically, they are made for women with Stress Urinary Incontinence and NOT for women with Urge Urinary Incontinence, which is what I have . Bummer! But this is why it’s an even bigger deal that I did not end up wetting my pants that day and haven’t since! Small victories, folks. That’s what it’s all about.
Finally, did you know that snake plants are one of those awesome plants that do not require a lot of natural light?? It’s true! I kept this one in this little powder bath for months with no ill effects! 🙌🏻.

bladdercontrol #ad I had my girlfriends over for a coffee this week and I told them that at the weekend we had a ‘bounce’ party to go to......I kid you not there was a very loud and simultaneous collective groan from all the women in the room! Yep, we all know it, you do too, jumping up and down over and over again for an hour is just NOT the one after you’ve had kids!
•
I’ve actually been relatively lucky with my pelvic floor considering I had to have major surgery after the birth of my first son. I took my recovery really seriously and was religious in getting my pelvic floor exercises done. But after two more kids and being somewhat more lackadaisical about it all I have started to notice that things aren’t quite the same. Swipe to see the faces I pull when I’m getting those pelvic floor exercises done!
•
I’m so pleased I have my girlfriends to speak to about these sorts of things. We laugh, we commiserate and we also share support and help. We all know it’s totally normal. In fact research by Always Discreet has found that two thirds of women (67%) have experienced bladder leaks including much more than half (64%)of 18-24 year olds. The sad thing is that the research also found that nearly half of these lovely ladies haven’t had the courage to speak about it with a trusted friend or relative.
•
That needs to change which is why #AlwaysDiscreet is on a mission to break the silence on bladder leaks and show women experiencing them that others just like them are going through the same. So come on hands up emoji 🙋‍♀️ in the comments please 👇; are you part of the 67% crew and more importantly have you spoken about it? •
Please note before you go! Check in with your GP if you think you’re experiencing bladder leaks s they will be able to share advice find the best course of action for you…and remember to do your pelvic floor exercises as they can help with symptoms too! See @gynaegeek for tips! #WeeNeedToTalk

bladdercontrol #ad Have you ever told someone not to make you laugh too hard otherwise you might wet yourself 👀 well I have!!! And I genuinely meant it!! After having Hector, 5 months later I still lacked bladder control. A cough, sneeze, pressure of carrying the baby in the sling when they’re resting in that area, just running to the toilet and knowing you need to go and oops you’ve already had a little leak 😳. I must say, YOU DON’T need to have had A CHILD to experience bladder leaks. Two thirds of women experience them in the UK, 64% of women aged between 18-24 do too!! But it never seems to be a topic we talk about.

I was able to rectify my bladder symptoms by simply doing pelvic floor exercises, every single day, which can be done wherever you are. I’m doing them in this photo 😅. However if this isn’t helping always speak to a GP because there are so many options to help prevent this from happening or check out @Gynaegeek who shares her expertise on this topic!! 👏
Always Discreet are on a mission to break the silence and show other women like them that they’re going through it too!! It definitely helped me speaking to another mum friend as we reminded each other daily to keep doing our pelvic floor exercises, and even if you’re not experiencing bladder leaks, still do it!! 💞

🤔🤔 Not necessarily! Despite common beliefs - caffeine is not a diuretic. So it won't make your bladder fill more quickly. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣
However... some people's bladders are sensitive to caffeine. This means that when the caffeine gets to your bladder it irritates the bladder lining. This can cause urgency (needing to go in a hurry) and frequency (having to go more often to empty). ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
People whose bladders are affected by caffeine generally know! 😇 If you think you need to reduce your caffeine intake to help with bladder control - do it slowly or you will get withdrawal symptoms such as headache, nausea and feeling faint. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
If you're somebody who could never give up that morning coffee (like me 😂) AND you have a bladder that is irritated by coffee - maybe just have one cup a day and know that is when your bladder will be irritated but after that you'll be fine for the day. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Pelvic health physiotherapists have extra skills and training to help those with bladder problems. ⁣⁣If you are struggling we're happy to help. 💚💙⁣

bladdercontrol Also knowns as sacral neuromodulation, sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) is simple procedure used to treat:⠀
⠀
-Overactive bladder (urinary urgency/frequency)⠀
-Urgency incontinence (involuntary leakage of urine associated with urgency)⠀
-Fecal incontinence (involuntary leakage of stool)⠀
-Some types of incomplete emptying of the bladder ⠀
⠀
✅How does SNS work?⠀
A small pacemaker device is implanted in the buttock region and used to deliver nerve impulses to nerves in the lower back. These nerves are called the sacral nerves, and they impact bladder, anal and rectal unction. ⠀
⠀
✅How is SNS performed?⠀
Typically this is a 2-staged procedure. The 1st stage is either performed in an office or in an operating room and is a test phase to determine if the procedure will work for the patient or not. A wire is placed through the lower back and into the sacral nerves. This is often done with the assistance of a live x-ray to help place the test wire into the right location. The patient then gets to

The patient then gets to "try out" this wire for 1-2 weeks to see if symptoms improve significantly or resolve. If this test is successful, the patient goes on to the 2nd stage of the procedure, in which a pacemaker like battery is used to provide constant nerve stimulation. ⠀ ⠀ ✅What if the test phase is not successful?⠀ If the test procedure does not provide relief for the patient, the test wire is simply removed.⠀ ⠀ ✅Is general anesthesia required?⠀ No! The first stage may be done under locally injected or intravenous anesthesia depending upon the circumstances. The second stage is done under intravenous anesthesia.⠀ ⠀ If you are suffering from overactive bladder, urgency or fecal incontinence, or not emptying your bladder see your doctor!🌸⠀ ⠀ The above content is not medical advice and is for informational purposes. bladdercontrol A rectocele (or sometimes called proctocele or posterior wall prolapse) is when the rectum bulges into vaginal space.

Approx. 40% or women routinely examined have rectocele present.

The rectum is the last 12-15 centimetres of the large intestine, just above the anal canal. It’s secured in place by ligaments and muscles.

At its early stages, rectocele rarely produces symptoms. At later stages women may experience: → Hemorrhoids.
→ A vaginal bulge.
→ Difficulty with bowel movement, the need to strain.
→ Multiple urgencies to poop.
→ The sensation of pressure, fullness or discomfort in the back passage.
→ Discomfort with sexual intercourse.
→ Vaginal bleeding.
→ Fecal incontinence.

The vast majority of rectocele symptoms can be managed effectively without surgery.
Some Tips:
→ Contact your health care provider if you suspect a rectocele and ask for a stand-up exam.
→ Manually support the rectum intravaginally to guide poop away from the rectocele during a bowel movement. → You may find bowel emptying better leaning back with feet flat on the ground.
→ Keep bowel emptying a smooth event.
→ Do pelvic floor exercises.

Note:
Rectocele is not the same as rectal prolapse, where the rectum falls down on itself and protrudes outside.#pelvicfloorexercises #pelvicfloordysfunction #pelvicfloor #pelvichealth #kegels #kegel #kegelexercises #incontinence #bladdercontrol #bladdercontrolissues #discreetlyfit #prolapse #pelvicorganprolapse #rectocele

A rectocele (or sometimes called proctocele or posterior wall prolapse) is when the rectum bulges into vaginal space. Some Tips: → Contact your health care provider if you suspect a rectocele and ask for a stand-up exam. → Manually support the rectum intravaginally to guide poop away from the rectocele during a bowel movement. → You may find bowel emptying better leaning back with feet flat on the ground. → Keep bowel emptying a smooth event. → Do pelvic floor exercises. Note: Rectocele is not the same as rectal prolapse, where the rectum falls down on itself and protrudes outside.#pelvicfloorexercises #pelvicfloordysfunction #pelvicfloor #pelvichealth #kegels #kegel #kegelexercises #incontinence #bladdercontrol #bladdercontrolissues #discreetlyfit #prolapse #pelvicorganprolapse #rectocele

bladdercontrol A to yesterday's Q 🤓
What is the most common trigger for needing a wee??
⬇️
a) hearing water
b) caffeine
c) coming home
d) coughing
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Actually ALL the answers are common...but NEVER should we take them as NORMAL
➡️ All of the answers can be experienced (and sometimes a mix of them)
The science bit 🤓⬇️
For top bladder health...here are some proven strategies from Week 1 of my Everywoman course:
➡️ caffeine can irritate the bladder, so can a lack of drinking altogether. Try herbal tea & H20 throughout your day
➡️ Stop going

Try herbal tea & H20 throughout your day ➡️ Stop going "just in case" & when you get the 1st urge to go, try quick lifts of your pelvic floor x10 ➡️ Lift your pelvic floor just before a cough or sneeze. I met Sarah this year on an interstitial cystitis website. She was a young girl in her 20’s who had recently gotten married, she had been waiting to have sex until marrage. Unfortunately Sarah did not have a wonderful first experience with intimacy with her new husband and actually experienced serious stabbing pain when her husband started to insert himself. The experience was awful for her and for him. Sarah was so scared and did not understand what was wrong and she felt like she was failing as a new wife and could not believe that she waited so long for this special moment just to experience such immense pain and fear. He could not believe that he hurt her and just wanted to have a beautiful intimate moment with his new wife.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Sarah had been dealing with chronic yeast & bacterial infections since she was a child but was given no help or answers on how to stop this from occurring. As she went through her teens the pain and infections started to decline so she stopped worrying about. But, when she went to have intercourse for the first time it was a bold reminder of her past vaginal pain experiences when she was younger. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Everytime she attempted to have sex it completely flared up her vaginal pain again and she was swollen and in pain for days after. She also had to go pee all the time and had intense urgency to rush to the backroom. Her whole vaginal area was a mess and she did not know what to do, she felt hopeless again and back in the same spot as she was before with the chronic yeast and bacterial infections. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

bladdercontrol A couple of photos of me and my knickers!
I am joining in the #southlondonbizsept challenge, so here's a little bit of info about me and my business.
.
I am Kelly, I live in Croydon with my husband, our 2 sons and 4 foster daughters. I launched my business @bp3underwear in June of this year. I also work part time in a gym in London.
I have always enjoyed working out and playing sports but after having kids, a hysterectomy and starting the menopause I suffered with bladder leaks everytime I ran so I designed my special knickers!
Hope that hasn't grossed everyone out, take a look at my Instagram page for more info!

bladdercontrol I remember driving home after my first Pilates class and feeling my legs shake from the workout. I was absolutely amazed at how effective the workout was without causing any joint pain! I was hooked from that day on.

Pilates helps with #posture #bladdercontrol #corestrength #balance #flexibility #focus #overallstrength
When I teach classes I like to tell clients it’s #physicaltherapywithfriends
Have you been to a Pilates class? What did you think? If we offered Pilates Thursday night at 6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 pm would that work with your schedule? Looking to add it to the list of classes or privates in Coalville. We will have a lot of stretching in this class.

bladdercontrol “I’m going to have surgery soon, so there is no point in doing pelvic floor exercises.” “I’ve had surgery and I’m all fixed up now, so I don’t need pelvic floor exercises.” I heard these statements many times. It’s an absolute logical way of thinking except…. There is a huge problem with that!

The long-term success of pelvic floor repair surgery for incontinence or prolapse depends very much on the quality of the pelvic floor muscles and tissues. Those stitches need to hold onto something well to maintain results. If their clinging points sink, sag or let go then the successful surgical creation is no more.

Due to the high failure rate of these surgeries (30% - 70%) consciously protecting the achievements of a procedure with pelvic floor exercises - BEFORE AND AFTER surgery is crucial for long term success as stated by research. (as me for research links)

bladdercontrol While important initiatives like Time's Up and the Me Too movement are making a big impact everywhere from classrooms to the Academy Awards, there's still plenty of work to be done. Let's start at the beginning of all beginnings: Vaginal health.
.
Despite the fact that all women have one and literally every person came from one, 50% of young women cannot properly label a vagina on a medical diagram.
.
45% never talk to anyone about their vaginal health - let alone their doctors. Did you know that 40% of women experience sexual dysfunction?
.
There is an urgent need to change the conversation - or at the very least, to have a conversation. A healthy vagina is incredibly important to your physical, mental and emotional health.

✖️ You plan family events to Disney World to make a memory while you secretly suffer from the awful pain. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✖️As you pretend your pain is “fine” so does everyone else, your family, friends, and coworkers have no clue how much you suffer everyday. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✖️Your intimacy with your husband has died because your tired, in pain, and sex just hurts now. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
You finally go see a doctor about this pain hoping for a change. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

bladdercontrol #Repost from @discreetlyfit. Uterine prolapse is when the uterus (or womb where a baby develops) sinks down the vagina due to loss of support from ligaments and the pelvic floor muscles. This descent MAY continue until the cervix and eventually, the entire uterus protrudes outside the vagina.

Uterine prolapse is the second most common type of prolapse accounting for almost 20% of all prolapse cases.
Uterine descent can be slow and progressive or a sudden event due to a significant physical demand like moving cement bags during the vamp up of the driveway.

Women are often surprised when they are told at a routine check-up that they have uterine prolapse as at its early stages it’s most likely to be asymptomatic. This stage of prolapse is so common that nowadays it’s frequently being considered normal, especially for menopausal women.

IF the prolapse progresses during later stages symptoms may include: → The feeling of “sitting on a ball”, “something is coming down”.
→ Vaginal looseness.
→ A bulge near the mouth or out of the vagina.
→ Bladder/bowel emptying issues.
→ Incontinence.
→ UTIs.
→ Pain/discomfort during intimacy.
→ Spotting.
→ Increased vaginal discharge.
→ Inability to retain a tampon.
→ Lower back/pelvic pain.

It’s easy to self-examine for uterine prolapse by inserting one or two fingers of your dominant hand into your vagina in search for your cervix while standing up. The cervix feels like the tip of your nose. A hard bulb with an indent in the middle. If you bump into it easily, it’s close to the mouth of your vagina, or you are concerned it’s time to consult your health care provider.
Remember, prolapse POSITIVELY responds to pelvic floor exercises and lifestyle management strategies, so your efforts to reverse or stabilise it can pay off.

bladdercontrol We hear this quite a lot from our customers - and we get it! If you think trust in relationships is hard, try putting your trust in a pair of new pants to stop embarrassing leaks during your workout.
.
But you can trust BP3. Our pants might be the new kids on the block, but everyone that tries them is amazed by not only how confident they make them feel but how comfortable and stylish they are. But don't take our word for it, here's a recent customer review (and there's plenty more on our website if you still need convincing 😉)

I was a bit sceptical but these are really effective and comfortable, even for long runs. They are lower-cut that what I normally wear but they really stay in place (no wedgies OR VPL - haha). The fabric is really thin, so they are a lot more 'elegant' than the usual sporty knickers and I love the scalloped edge. Have been telling my running posse about them too as we do spend a lot of energy discussing our knickers on the longer runs!" . . . #running #mumswhorun #runningcommunity #femaleincontinence #femalefounder #bladdercontrol #pelvicfloor #weakbladder #lightbladderleakage #postpartumbodies #sustainablefashion #wellness #kegelexcercises #pelvicfloordysfunction #incontinence #sport #femalehealth #womenshealth #newmumlife #postnatal #postpartumlife #mumlife #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy #mumconfessions #selflove #smallbusiness #mumsofinstagram #environmentallyconscious #lifewithoutplastic #environmentallyfriendly

At least 50% of women suffer with weak pelvic floor issues. I really feel that this is actually much higher as many women are too ashamed to seek help or even discuss it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hear on a daily basis from women that they never heard about Kegels before, during or after pregnancy. The first they are aware of the importance of doing pelvic floor exercises is once they have developed incontinence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is not acceptable in 2019!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q - Were you told of the importance of your pelvic floor at any stage of your pregnancy and that Kegels were necessary to maintain or improve your pelvic floor?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q - Did you understand the pressure your pelvic floor was under during pregnancy and why Kegels were needed?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q - Did you know that a strong pelvic floor helps with birth?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

→ Pregnancy, especially with twins or triplets
→ Stretched pelvic ligaments due to childbirth
→ Chronic slumped posture
→ Heavy physical labour
→ Physical activity involving internal bouncing/weightlifting especially without pressure management and ignored incontinence

bladdercontrol 🤷🏻‍♀️Have you ever heard of vaginal weights?⠀
⠀
🤷🏼‍♀️Have you ever used them?⠀
⠀
👇Share in the comments below!⠀
⠀
💪🏼Just like you might use hand weights to strengthen your arm muscles, you can use weights to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles!⠀
⠀
Pelvic floor weights are worn inside the vagina and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles as you go about your business. ⠀
⠀
🌟Amazing right?🌟⠀
⠀
These weights use biofeedback to gradually improve the strength and endurance of your muscles.⠀
⠀
🌸You insert your weight just like a tampon, which encourages the pelvic floor muscles to switch on and work to hold the weight in place. ⠀
⠀
⏰You can then wear the weight for up to 20 minutes at a time as you walk around the house, get ready for work, make breakfast...whatever! You don't leave it in all day, just as you wouldn't spend the day doing biceps curls, as your muscles will fatigue!⠀
⠀
You can start with a 5g weight and gradually build up. Some weights are hollow and you can add your own 5g weights to it as you improve. Others come at a set weight, around 40-50g.⠀
⠀
Something to keep in mind...⠀
⠀
You know how it's hard work even getting up off the toilet after leg day?⠀
⠀
The same can happen with your pelvic floor😞⠀
⠀
Don't freak out if your symptoms seem worse the day after trying weights. Chances are you have gone too hard too soon, your pelvic floor muscles are now tired and not as effective.⠀
⠀
This is temporary! You haven't done damage! Just something to keep in mind when you want to wear your weights for 1 hour on the first day you try them (because 5 minutes just seems silly).⠀
⠀
⏰Start with 5 minutes, work your way up slowly!⠀
⠀
Research has shown that pelvic floor weights give you better outcomes in terms of leaking and weakness at 3 months, compared to pelvic floor exercises alone. But after 6-12 months, results tend to even out.⠀
⠀
But...those who used weights improved FASTER! This is great because these days it's all about getting good results & quickly!⠀
⠀
Do your research & consult a women's health physio before you go out and buy some weights for your pelvic floor! They're pretty easy to find online these days, or DM me for recommendations!

🤷🏻‍♀️Have you ever heard of vaginal weights?⠀ ⠀ 🤷🏼‍♀️Have you ever used them?⠀ ⠀ 👇Share in the comments below!⠀ ⠀ 💪🏼Just like you might use hand weights to strengthen your arm muscles, you can use weights to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles!⠀ ⠀ Pelvic floor weights are worn inside the vagina and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles as you go about your business. ⠀ ⠀ 🌟Amazing right?🌟⠀ ⠀ These weights use biofeedback to gradually improve the strength and endurance of your muscles.⠀ ⠀ 🌸You insert your weight just like a tampon, which encourages the pelvic floor muscles to switch on and work to hold the weight in place. ⠀ ⠀ ⏰You can then wear the weight for up to 20 minutes at a time as you walk around the house, get ready for work, make breakfast...whatever! You don't leave it in all day, just as you wouldn't spend the day doing biceps curls, as your muscles will fatigue!⠀ ⠀ You can start with a 5g weight and gradually build up. Some weights are hollow and you can add your own 5g weights to it as you improve. Others come at a set weight, around 40-50g.⠀ ⠀ Something to keep in mind...⠀ ⠀ You know how it's hard work even getting up off the toilet after leg day?⠀ ⠀ The same can happen with your pelvic floor😞⠀ ⠀ Don't freak out if your symptoms seem worse the day after trying weights. Chances are you have gone too hard too soon, your pelvic floor muscles are now tired and not as effective.⠀ ⠀ This is temporary! You haven't done damage! Just something to keep in mind when you want to wear your weights for 1 hour on the first day you try them (because 5 minutes just seems silly).⠀ ⠀ ⏰Start with 5 minutes, work your way up slowly!⠀ ⠀ Research has shown that pelvic floor weights give you better outcomes in terms of leaking and weakness at 3 months, compared to pelvic floor exercises alone. 🤨So often in society us women are conditioned to hate aspects of our body. ⁣
- I’m too fat⁣
- My hair is too thin⁣
- My feet are big⁣
- I have a large nose⁣
- My butt is so flat⁣
- My boobs are small⁣
- My vagina...oh wait we pretend this does not exist at all🤦🏻‍♀️⁣
⁣
🚫We focus on the negative aspects and neglect the beauty us women possess. ⁣
⁣
🤔🤗What if we heard statements like this from each other?⁣
- I love my curves⁣
- I am blessed to have such nice straight hair⁣
- My feet are sexy and fierce ⁣
- My nose is loud and bold like me⁣
- I have the cuties small rump around⁣
- My boobs are the perfect size for me⁣
- My vagina is magical 👸🏻⁣
⁣
Ladies, we have the power to change our story, to let our friends, mothers, and daughters hear us talk different about our physical bodies. I struggle with this exact thing daily and notice the harsh statements I can make about myself. I certainly hope that I am able to change this story once I have children and a young mind that I am molding. But my personal goal is to change this story and focus on the beautiful features us ladies have and being proud and loud about our lady parts 🥰

bladdercontrol #Repost from @discreetlyfit.

Remember, prolapse POSITIVELY responds to pelvic floor exercises and lifestyle management strategies, so your efforts to reverse or stabilise it can pay off.

bladdercontrol Are some women better at pelvic floor exercises than others?

You bet your bum they are! Some can Kegel like a pro (whatever that means) others need to concentrate real hard to find the right movement.

Does this mean the pros are ahead?

Yes, in the short distance, since they need to practice less to bring their pelvic floor contraction to a quality that is good enough for proper, valuable exercise. But in the long run.... ......perseverance will win and harvest the results.

So if you feel that you are not good at Kegels don't give up! You WILL get better at them and YES they will work for you!

--- It's my first post. My name is Ben and I'm 36. As you can see I'm suffering from incontinence and mental illness. In between I try to live my life as good as I can. If you have any questions or suggestions please contact me. ➡️ Incontinence:
It's a thing no one talks about. That's why it took me 7 years to visit a doctor. He made some tests an has diagnosed a heavy urge incontinence. For the moment there is no medicine which helped. And I tried a lot in the past. So I have no other choice to deal with diapers. Now I can accept it because I learned to see the advantage of it 😂
I recommend everyone who is dealing with incontinence to be open. Don't try to hide it. There are more people with this problem out there as the most think. The age doesn't matter. Be open that this problem becomes more public. ❗Werbung, da Markennennung❗ ·

bladdercontrol To bring more awareness to the men and women who have incontinence or an overactive bladder, this animation from @mypelvicfloormuscles shows us just how important our pelvic floor muscles are! ✅ Think of the pelvic floor muscles like a hammock or trampoline in this case. If your pelvic muscles are strong, they can seal off the bladder so urine stays inside the body. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
✅ If the pelvic floor muscles are weak, urine may leak out during exercising.⁣⁣ It could be a few drops or it may be a larger volume. ⁣⁣
⁣
⁣⁣✅ 🤲The good news is that you don't have to live with this your whole life. If you maintain good eating habits and do exercises such as kegels, you can start to train your muscles to get stronger, resulting in less leakage.

Over on the Chirp, we’re getting hot and bothered about hormone replacement therapy. Some women have found that HRT takes the edge off menopause symptoms like hot flashes, but every body is different.

Link in bio, if you’re curious ☝️

bladdercontrol The last thing on your mind with two littles is probably a check in with a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist...
.
But what better gift can you give yourself than self-care?
.
How many times do we change the way we live our life because of something we feel is out of our control?
.
🧐Have you..
- stopped playing WITH the kids at the park because running after them causes leakage?
- stopped carrying your toddler because your back aches?
- stopped working out because you have pressure down there?
- stopped having sex because it hurts?
.
‼️🛑stop with the stopping🛑‼️
.
There is help for all of those things - and more 🙌🏻

Come on, mama.. go ahead, bring all the babies, move on in, get comfortable, and teach those littles that self-care isn’t selfish - IT IS IMPORTANT🔥🔥

bladdercontrol As you may have seen on our stories, team BP3 have been getting back in to running by joining in the fun at our local Park Run. As women that struggle with bladder leaks, running used to be our worst nightmare, but thanks to our pants we’re finally finding our stride again! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
.
If you are thinking about starting running, or getting back in to it after some time away - do it! There are so many benefits.
.
☀️Getting outdoors and enjoying the sunshine (whilst it lasts)
.
🏆 The sense of achievement when you beat your personal goal - even if it’s simply running to the next lamppost without stopping.
.
. 👯‍♀️ Socialising with your mates who want to join you on the run - and making new friends too!
.
❤️ Running is great for keeping your heart healthy, as well as the rest of your body! It’s a full body cardio vascular work out that might leave you aching the next day, but will definitely do you a world of good in the future.
.
We have been totally inspired to get back in to it by accounts such as @thismumruns and @thisgirlcanrunfar and hope we can inspire some other women in the same way!

bladdercontrol #Repost from @discreetlyfit. If you are serious about pelvic floor exercises and you have invested in learning them well, you should see their impact relatively fast. You will probably feel stronger, more aware of your muscles and more coordinated by the second week.
However, how fast you can see your incontinence reversed, or your prolapse managed is determined by several factors including:
• The quality of your pelvic floor exercise and how it’s structured
• How regularly you perform your exercises
• Your age and hormonal status
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• The condition of your pelvic floor muscles
Obviously, the poorer quality and quantity your training is the least spectacular results you will ever see. If your pelvic floor exercise consists of casually clenching at traffic lights or dinner tables for example your results will be limited. The more mature aged you are, and the weaker your pelvic floor muscles are when you start, and if you are carrying an injury will also slow your progress.
Just to give you an idea, here are my guidelines for exercise frequency for the Discreetly Fit Training (which is the best quality exercise you can perform):
If you experience zero symptoms of pelvic floor weakness train your pelvic floor muscles every day, 1/day for 10 weeks, then on most of your days.
If you experience pelvic floor symptoms due to weakness exercise your pelvic floor muscles every day, 1/day for 4-6 months then on most of your days.
So no, pelvic floor exercises don’t magically work overnight, but their results are worth waiting and working for, so don’t give up on them.

bladdercontrol She' a survivor - of bladder leakage! .
One-third of Destiny's Child, Beyoncé's best friend and the female vocalist behind one of the most popular slow jams ever to exist (it's been 17 years and we still know every single word to Dilemma and are still questioning why she was trying to text him using an Excel spreadsheet?) Kelly Rowland is getting real about her battle with postpartum incontinence.
.
In her book 'Whoa Baby', Kelly dedicates a whole chapter to the subject, aptly entitled 'So Now We're Both Wearing Diapers?' Along with opening up about her experience, Kelly wants women to know it's ok to talk about their own struggles.
