Instagram is flipping things on us; likes will be removed on some posts here in the U.S. too. From what I see, there is a mix of creators applauding the change (believing engagement will become more organic) and those angry about the decision (believing it will make it impossible to know whose following is real). My personal opinion is the big change will be in the mental health arena, preventing creators from comparing or ranking themselves against other creators. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the news below.

I’ve always been a believer in lifelong learning, whether it’s a formal course, a self-development book or travel to a foreign country to experience a different culture. From a very young age I spent a lot of time reading personal development books and attending workshops/retreats on various topics.
I’m an avid believer that we each create our own life and we are 100% responsible for our choices which creates a life that is unique. By stepping out of my comfort zone and finding my inner courage I’ve been able to achieve my dreams and aspirations. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. That when you find a healthy lifestyle you just fall in love with it and it would be easy. I SAY BS to THAT! After 3 years of following a plan that works for me - even teaching about healthy living, it still isn’t a habit. I still face the same problems. 😠⠀
I have always struggled with eating properly. My mom taught me about good nutrition and always made sure we had healthy food. But when it came to me making the decisions, it was a constant battle. As early as High School, I remember sneaking snacks or buying candy when she wasn't around to police me. That picture on the left is from my first year at college...yikes!⠀
As an adult, I would tell myself it wasn't helping to eat cookies, cereal or ice cream, but I kept eating. As I ate more, I felt embarrassed and ashamed. Since I felt horrible, I'd eat for comfort, but then I'd feel even worse. It was a vicious cycle that I couldn't seem to get out of. ⠀
I'm in a much better place now, but I still find myself about to slip into that cycle and feel like that little girl sneaking a cookie. The difference is that I've learned to cope with it better. I need the structure, the reminders and the support network. I have more confidence to do my best and forgive myself when I need help. I have people who count on me to lead the way. ⠀
If you've ever felt this way, please know that you're not alone. This is a feeling I doubt I'll ever completely overcome. Some days it’s hard, but I have a solution that works. I remind myself that I am healthy and fit and I can’t go back. ⠀

Sharing with you those moments when you don't feel like keeping to your self care routine 😍
I really didn't feel like doing a workout this morning with the To DO List running circles in my head. My head was so busy and it would have been easy to walk away- jump into my To Do List and then feel guilty that I didn't honour that time I set aside to look after myself.
It's completely normal to have these thoughts and mind battles just remember to listen, put them aside and stick to your intention of looking after yourself. Just as I said in yesterday's post- show that inner YOU that you've got her back and that she's important 😘😘😘
Seychelles flashback = Pure Paradise … Yet I have so many mixed feelings about this chapter in my life
I went for a 3 month Marine Conservation Whale Shark monitoring programme. It is something I am passionate about, but I also used it as an escape from reality. Big time‼️
I was escaping multiple things:
💙 A broken heart
💙 The Mon - Fri corporate grind that we all know too well
💙 The real world & all of its responsibilities & complexities
Having worked full time since I left school, I had built a secure career as a Project Manager. I have always been financially self sufficient & at the time I had enough savings to just disappear 🏝 🌎
I was not trained in Marine Biology, so volunteering was the closest I would get to experience it
Some people admired the spontaneity, while others just thought I was plain mad 😜
It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, I was on my own, in a foreign country, the eldest of the volunteers by 12+ years & the only one with absolutely zero experience. Eeeek‼️
I could swim though & I love to snorkel, so I figured I could find a way to make it work 💥
You’ll see from my posts, I have a theme in life. #pushyourself define what inspires u & take a chance
This is what I am doing now, having walked away from my career to explore new ventures & utilise social media to help create new possibilities
Fortunately by making that 1st decision, each day changes & evolves into bigger & better things
A key factor is that, I would never have known that had I not taken the 1st steps when deciphering

💚 How can I manifest them into reality
💚 What else can I be doing to achieve them
Like anything, there are both positive & hard days, but they all have lessons & teach me where more focus is needed
