? an academic or general training score of 6.0 or better in each skill (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or ? a Test d’evaluation de francais (TEF) score of at least 7 in each competence on the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) (reading, writing, speaking and listening)

Proof of complete tuition payment for the applicant's first year of study It could look like this: • Evidence that the educational expense sum has been moved into an archive account at the DLI to be applied to the educational cost bill sometime in the future • DLI’s shared receipt • An authority letter from the DLI affirming installment of educational expenses • A receipt from a bank showing that educational expenses have been paid to the DLI Certificate of Guaranteed Investment (GIC) A GIC is a fixed-term investment in Canada that offers a guaranteed rate of return. GICs are available from several banks. We certify that you purchased a GIC by providing you with one of the following: • A letter of attestation o a GIC certificate o a confirmation of investment directions or a confirmation of investment balance • Put the GIC in a savings or student account that you won't be able to access until you arrive in Canada. • require you to verify your identification before releasing funds to you; • release funds to you by providing: ? a one-time payment when you arrive in Canada and identify yourself ? Distribute the remaining amounts over 10 to 12 months in monthly or bi-weekly installments • You won't be able to apply through the Student Direct Stream if your bank or GIC doesn't match these requirements. Medical examinations and police clearances You may need to receive a medical checkup or a police certificate depending on where you're applying from. You must submit them with your application to get speedier processing through the Student Direct Stream (if you need them). In the event that you don't, your application will be postponed.
