How to Curate Corporate Gift Boxes For Your Clients : 4 Simple Steps
How to Curate Corporate Gift Boxes For Your Clients : 4 Simple Steps

I’m going to start by stating the obvious…. Clients are the lifeline of your business. Which is why it’s crucial to give them thoughtfully curated gifts no matter what the occasion. As far as corporate gifts are concerned, companies tend to stick to the very basics. For example, if it’s Diwali, most companies stick to gifting their clients a box of sweets or a set of Diwali diyas. If you think about it, it’s not too hard to curate the appropriate products and pack them into a company branded gift box.

The thing is, a corporate gift box, will always hold more value than just a single corporate gift item. This is especially true when it comes to giving gifts to your clients. A custom gift box is evidence to your client that you and your team have put some serious thought into their gift and that’s exactly what it should look like. As I said in the start, clients are key to your business and pleasing them should be the goal of your corporate gifting practices.

With that being said, here are 4 things you should keep in mind while curating gift items for your corporate gift box.

1. Rules Of Engagement

As far as corporates are concerned, almost all of them have rules for receiving and giving gifts. Which is why it’s important for your team to know these rules before you start curating products. A lot of companies have policies against gifting or receiving alcohols, tobacco, cigars etc. You will only know what goes and what doesn’t after conducting some basic research on the same.

However, I will say, if the client doesn’t have an anti-alcohol policy…. Alcohol is a great gift idea and you can bet your bottom dollar that your client would be pleased. Just don’t get their favorite drinks wrong…

Another point to remember is your client’s competitors. You know who they are, so avoid their products and/or their services. I can’t imagine your client will be too pleased if you gift him something from his competitor

2. What The Client Likes

Over the course of your interactions, you may or may not have figured out what they clients likes and what he doesn’t. I’m not saying he would have come to you and literally said “Hey by the way I love model cars” but I’m sure at some point, you or someone in your team would have noticed something the client is inclined too. You don’t have to do some crazy research for this either. A simple run through of their LinkedIn profile should be enough.

For example, if you know his/her favorite football or cricket team, curate some merchandise for them. If you only know the name or the type of sport they like, get them a generic set of related products or merchandise for that particular sport. Just don’t get their favorite team wrong… I can’t explain how bad that could backfire...

3. The Cost Of Client Satisfaction

It goes without saying that cost is a key factor in selecting any gift. Evaluate what your limits are and how much you’re willing to push them to please your client. Ofcourse expensive gifts are likely to be appreciated more but if your budget doesn’t permit, there are plenty of unique gifts that can make an impression without denting your wallet.

For example, thoughtful gifts like money plants, Feng Shui wealth enhancers etc can be bought at a relatively low cost but have the ability to make a strong impression. You can then add complimentary items such as religious idols, home décor etc to your corporate gift box.

4. Presentation

Now comes the part where you and your team design the corporate gift box you wish to present to your client. It’s crucial that the presentation is done the right way and incorporates a thoughtfully laid out selection of products. I know they say never judge a book by its cover, but that’s exactly what your clients will do. So, ensure your cover looks as good as the content within.

Corporate gifting agencies in India, of which there are many, can help you curate and thoughtfully arrange products to go in your custom corporate gift box.
